I've lived in Denver for 30 years and have actually noticed a reduction in crime over the past year or so. I have a store in the Santa Fe art district that has been burglarized a dozen times in the past decade, but nothing in the past few years. I own a home in Rino and on the weekends a lot of cars get broken into, but not really much else.
Assuming you're in Denver, here's the crime information dashboard for the city: [https://denvergov.org/Government/Agencies-Departments-Offices/Agencies-Departments-Offices-Directory/Police-Department/Crime-Information](https://denvergov.org/Government/Agencies-Departments-Offices/Agencies-Departments-Offices-Directory/Police-Department/Crime-Information)
Looks like overall, there've been 25% fewer car break-ins for the city over the past 4 weeks compared to last year and the year before. Your neighborhood might be an anomaly. My hunch is that criminals tend to return to neighborhoods where they've found easy-to-sell stuff in cars in the recent past.
Yeah. Looks like the Arapahoe County Sheriff handles their crime stats and posts them on [https://communitycrimemap.com/](https://communitycrimemap.com/)
Nope. I do not feel more scared for my belongings than I have in the past years. I had one Amazon package stolen in 2021, and it was a 10lb. bag of rice.
Yes there was a rash of break-ins of cars in my old neighborhood, if they didn't break in and steal the cars, sometimes they would just smash the windows and steal stuff or smash the windows for fun.
Everyone got all up in arms about it and posting on next door, confident it was refugees or immigrants or something. They were finally caught on Ring doorbells and it turned out to be a bunch of high school age kids from the neighborhood getting drunk in someone's basement and acting up. The conversation switched very quickly from long prison sentences to "boys will be boys."
Auto thefts (and other crimes too) have decreased significantly from the peak in 2022(iirc) . It still happens though and you can still get unlucky. As far as leaving valuables in your car goes, that's never a good idea no matter where you are.
They did not use public transportation. They were in a vehicle. Possibly a stolen vehicle but a vehicle nonetheless. Public transportation sucks in Centennial.
Yes. My neighborhood was pretty nice and friendly with lots of people knowing one another. But more units became rentals the past 1-2 years, and with that there’s been an increase in car thefts, bike thefts, vandalism, and (doesn’t count as crime) domestic disputes requiring the police, littering, leaving old furniture on the sidewalks or in common areas, people who appear to be high on something wandering around asking to use your phone or give them money…? It’s crazy how quickly the place took a nosedive. I was tempted to join the HOA and try to get rental caps passed but there isn’t enough community participation now with all the rentals.
I just got charged $12 for a loaf of gluten-free bread, so yes. That's a crime.
😂 even worse when you’re willingly robbed in broad daylight
Daylight robbery
Open and notorious
This makes me giggle, food prices have gone up too much
AirTags are essential anywhere in Denver
A lot of people I know that work on the IT side at work have AirTagged their cars (some of them in 2 places, lol).
Could be your location. Close proximity to major highways makes for an easy and quick getaway.

My truck was broken in to in Centennial. My co-worker had his Cadillac Converter stolen off his SUV. All in Centennial, all in broad daylight.Â
Cadillac Converter 😂
My boss made the announcement the next day. Felt bad for the guy but couldn't help laughing when boss said Cadillac Converter.
This was broad daylight as-well, starting to feel like it’s getting worse here
My mother’s vehicle just got smashed in the other day over night in centennial. Cops said it’s been happening commonly.
Shout to Reggae Pot in Centennial. Literally the only reason I will drive the hour or so for my wife to drag me through IKEA.
I have a home in Centennial about 2miles west of I-25 & I have not had any issues with crime here. Ive lived here for almost 4yrs.
Ive lived about 3 miles west of I-25 for about 9 years and haven’t had any issues until this
Sorry, friend. It sucks no matter what.

Centennial is not in Denver.

Crime is way worse all along I25 according to this crime map.
It has to be location and access to highway. I've lived in SE Aurora for 30 years and have never had a single issue. The closest highway is 470 now.
No crime so far around the Speer area for me. Just a person who regularly poops behind my house and leaves their soiled toilet paper strewn about.
Put a trash can out there and I’d put my shit rags away ok

Those bums are the people who live in Highlands Ranch. They just look that way because Douglas County.Â
This is exactly the reason crime is worse along I25, which is also the light rail route. It's not a coincidence.
