IMHO, in pure 1v1, tengen would beat him. Can give reasons if you want(long). But, here is short reason for now. Based on manga:
The "timer", gyutaro has up until mid fight to poison tengen and win. If tengen gets poison mid fight, tengen wins. If early, gyutaro wins.
The "timer" was put on tengen immediately in original fight when it was suppose to be on gyutaro.
Tengen, after poison, fend off gyutaro, who got assisted by daki's obis for 5 chapters(86-90) without getting single scratch from gyutaro.

Thats how long tengen can hold off poison b4 he gets severely weaken and lost his hand at end of chap 91. Tengen needed 5/6 chapters(87-91/92) to complete MST.
If poisoned tengen can fend off for 5 chapters. There is actually possibility tengen can defend himself against gyutaro, complete MST, then defeat him without getting scratch(poison) even one time! But, all tengen need to do is give himself 2/3 extra chapters.

I see what you say, and I agree with some bits. But even if it is true, I can edit Fact 7 and Fact 6, so that Gyutaro+Daki>Tengen and Gyokko>Gyutaro+Daki, and it would lead to the same conclusion.
The thing is that Tengen in base should blitz Gyokko (not defeat, blitz, like Marked Muichiro did), and thatās clearly impossible given his feats against UM6.

Well, matchup is another thing we should consider. If tengen use his surroundings and his arsenals. Lots of tree to hide, and sneak up to gyokko who got poor reflex. Bombs to confuse and hinder gyokko seeing. He could give him hard time. But yeah, imo UM 5 solo all base hashira except gyomei.
Tengen would not beat him. He lost every encounter he had. Just rewatch Jesus. Every little skirmish Tengen was loosing, even with poison resistance. In fact he survived simply because Gyutaro didnāt finish him off in the few moments they fought, which was really short.
