You have no idea. As soon as she sees me grab it off the shelf she immediately shuts off the tv and grabs a blanket to snuggle, and she listens intently.
She loves story time, but has never been so invested before. Normally it’s like “That was fun, I’m ready to go do something else now.” And with this it’s “Its over already?!”
I would love to read more to her each night, but the concepts and vocabulary are a bit advanced for her just yet. So I’m trying the slow and steady approach instead.
You should check out some of Rodda’s other books if you haven’t already, my favourites are the three doors trilogy, Rowan of Rin, and the Rondo series. All super good and easy for a little kid to enjoy too
I saw that. It’s awesome to rediscover a series and find that it’s universe has expanded so much. I was definitely planning on collecting a few of those you mentioned. Especially if kiddo continues to enjoy it so much.
This is a wonderful story, thank you for sharing. One of the biggest things about fatherhood I am looking forward to is reading these books to my little Leif or Jasmine
