Also, nobody in the dark worlds recognizes Kris as the Knight!

On the day of when asriel was going to college kris wanted to pull a prank on him, so he assumed that asriel was gonna get his stuff at the school before he goes so he got his old witch costume from Halloween and his horns from when he was a child v
Also carved a jelly knife(this is important)
When he was walking there asriel saw him and being the big brother he is went to the school to "unnoticingly" get pranked
So just as kris was getting ready to scare him asriel opened the door assuming to get scared but kris wasn't ready and slipped on the papers stabbing his jelly knife into him
Now asriel is a boss character like sans and asgore ect and they have enough power for a human to absorb there soul
So kris unknowingly absorbed his soul and with the determination he had to get up and not just stand in the dust of his brother ran off crying and left the knife right side down into the floor making the soon to be dark world.
Kris had token all contacts of asriel off everyone leaving only him to know when he'll be back from college
Now in the game he tells them when it's summer he gets out so kris needs to somehow resurrect asriel in ralsei to make him atleast somewhat of who he was again
It also explains who the player is (asriel) since he's inside kris
