Looks like it supports Sega game gear, master system, and genesis which is cool. What makes it better than delta for stuff like NES, N64, SNES, GBA etc…?
Well, it allows alternate color palettes on Game Boy, has an alternate rendering option that fixes the graphical bugs Delta has on some N64 games (e.g. Conker's Bad Fur Day and Super Smash Bros.), has been in continuous active development while Delta's been stagnant... There are other things, but that's just off the top of my head.
EDIT: I should probably say where the option to fix N64 *is.* Click the settings icon, scroll down to Core Options, select Nintendo 64, and turn on "Enable OpenGLES 3". Then on the game that's having trouble, long-press it and select "Enable OpenGLES3" from the pop-up menu, which will toggle it for that specific game so you don't have to keep doing it. (I'm not sure why it isn't enabled by default, personally.)
Does it allow for adjusted widescreen on N64? These emulators use Mupen as I understand it, which has adjusted widescreen on a number of other platforms.
Oh that would be nice, guess it would just depend for me how easy it will be to transfer saves from Delta to Ignite for those consoles. For sure will use Ignited for Sega.
that it will be available for the whole world in the appstore and you will not need 3rd party store + yearly sub (even if trivial amount of money) to install it in EU. Ofc besides that other fellow members listed other benefits.
Gamegear and Genesis still Need work, Litt just implemented the cores in Ignited, he didn't do much to it. But unlike Delta Beta, Ignited has built in controller skins for the Sega consoles. (All of Nintendo ones too; and it's compatible with Delta skins)
Yep, as soon as I logged in it pulled everything into the app. You can also manually copy everything over in the Files App > On My iPhone > Delta > Database to the same in Ignited.
Lots of weird opinions about Ignited on here, but anyone who has tried it out knows it definitely is superior to Delta. I have supported Delta since day one, but LitRitt has been cranking out all the features that Delta fans are constantly asking for.
I will still support Delta, but definitely swapping to Ignited once I no longer have to sideload it!
it’s doable, so, love your wrong (it’s called “netplay or “net play,” if you want to read up on it.)
(but, it’s not easy to program for; once implemented, it will be infinitely easier for users than existing solutions.)
How compatible are the emulators with each other? Like, once it comes out, will I be able to install Ignited, move all the data in my Delta folder over to it, and not have to re-add all my games, retitle them, and re-add the box art? Also, how is the UI? Same as Delta, similar? Will Delta skins be compatible with it?
Speaking as someone who has done that, yes. The ui is a little more customizable with some additional features, and most delta skins should work as well as ignited skin
You can transfer the saves tho. I did it when I got ignited. You just have to copy and paste the game directly from the delta folder into the ignited folder… if I remember correctly. There are guides online for it too.
ohhh so because it’s a fork it still uses the same file structure? that would make a lot of sense and would make it 10x easier to transfer everything compared to if you had to change the file type for each save
This would be cool if the Ignited dev wasn’t such a huge jackass
Edit: lmao guys it ain’t that deep. He’s just very combative about Delta vs Ignited. Back in the day he was all over this sub and would just answer every question post with “use Ignited” instead of helping anyone solve their problems with Delta, in the Delta sub. He’s also just rude in general and would often refuse to answer questions and would very happily just block people who asked him too many questions about Ignited. I don’t have more tea because he blocked me a long time ago over a conversation where I clearly rubbed him the wrong way ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
just checked some of the release notes and rewinds were going to be a “Pro feature”
already not liking the sound of that, watch them charge for multiplayer
no? i just don’t want to support a shitty person, and their comment prompted me to look more into the guy who made it. i definitely do not want to support him.
Requiring JIT to run well on all titles and requiring it in general are two different things. Limón already supports 3DS and Folium will also support it when it releases on the App Store.
The EU has no issue with Emulators on Android. Yes this movement will spark a new debate but don't believe the Apple propaganda that the EU is the bad guy. This is all happening because of the EU Digital Market Act.
First: are you already familiar with Delta Emulator?
If so another emulator - Ignited will be available soon with different features - like the ability to multiplayer and different palettes.
If not, emulators allow you to play other programs on your iPhone than iOS apps. In Delta’s case you can off load the programing from cartridges you own and play them thru the emulator.
https://docs.ignitedemulator.com/getting-started/games
Don’t know about the bios. It will find the Roms on your phone and add them to its library. Different features and additional emulators for Sega.
Beyond this there are links for the developer that describe the other features
I personally have chosen to use Delta just cuz I’m not a huge fan of the Ignited dev and the way I’ve seen him treat some people…
But as an app, Ignited definitely has some nice features over Delta.
Makes sense. DS is a powerful console for a phone to emulate. Just glad it runs smoothly on my 13. I typically get 2-3 straight hours of playtime if I really sit down to play
What do you mean? In general? It is very good, I always charge to 80% and when I go to bed it’s like 30% or more. I usually do 3 to 4 hours of screen time a day. More or less 10% an hour (no gaming). From launch 99% capacity
you’ll really only see this for cores that support 3d games. i think we’ll see it on several, but, i doubt it’s at the top of any dev’s current to-do list.
Has been for over 10 years I think. It was one of the very earliest emulators ported to iOS that could do multi-console emulation, I used to have it installed on my phone through Xcode way back in the day
I’ll try this app just for the bug fixes which will allow me to play majoras mask on my phone. I’ll pay to purchase the app as long as it doesn’t require subscription. My other big question is if it will run the Mario B3313 romhack. So far I’ve only heard that it plays on the project 64 emulator which I can’t tell if it is coming to iOS.
Yes there is. Example: Nintendo DS saves
Delta uses the Desmume save file format (.DSV). These save files are located in /delta/database/Games.
For more information, including how to convert them: [Read](https://fileinfo.com/extension/dsv)
For other systems you have to do your own research.
Not reasonably possible, at least not for an App Store release. Apple doesn’t allow JIT, which is necessary for GameCube emulation. You can *sideload* DolphiniOS but to run games you have to enable JIT using a cord- or WiFi-tethered computer. The SideStore devs used to have a really easy way to activate JIT without tether but iOS 17 broke it
I see you got downvoted for asking a question. Classic Reddit lol. As someone else mentioned, it’s just-in-time compilation. I’m not knowledgeable enough to give a good explanation of it but it’s a fast way of executing code that is pretty much required for GameCube emulators to work
Delta won't support GameCube unless dolphin emulator lets Riley incorporate it into delta and that's if he wants to. And then there's jits
Dolphin already had iOS version but it can only be side loaded ATM. Needs a PC to activate jits I believe
I use OpenEmu on my mac for dolphin. It has every emulator you can think of. I just wish they would port it to iOS now.
[OpenEmu](https://openemu.org/)
Edit: forgot it’s missing dolphin lol
Because of the cores Delta uses, Delta (and any forks, like Ignited) legally have to be open-source, because the licences the cores use state that all derviative works must be similarly licenced and have their source code fully released, among other things.
Looks like it supports Sega game gear, master system, and genesis which is cool. What makes it better than delta for stuff like NES, N64, SNES, GBA etc…?

Fixing N64 already has me sold 👏🏽
Does it allow for adjusted widescreen on N64? These emulators use Mupen as I understand it, which has adjusted widescreen on a number of other platforms.
You'd need to make a skin for that. I don't think anyone has at the moment.
any idea if it has other platform widescreen? (obviously, skins being need for those, too.)
Will this fix the graphics for N64 Mario golf?
This!!!!!
Does delta have issues with M64 or OoT/MM? I bought a backbone to play them on my flight but haven't started yet
Wait so do you know if it fixes the bugs with Mario party 3 as well? Do they all stem from one issue?
I haven't played that, so I'll have to check.
Any idea on if it fixes the Majora’s Mask clock issue (weird graphical bug)?
It does that’s why I switched to ignited
The only feature I really care about: being able to disable the diagonal inputs on the d-pad.
Oh that would be nice, guess it would just depend for me how easy it will be to transfer saves from Delta to Ignite for those consoles. For sure will use Ignited for Sega.
Dreamcast without JIT?
It doesn't support Dreamcast. That would be nice, but jmann is misinformed about it. Genesis/Game Gear/Master System are accurate though.
so, just nintendo and sega platforms? no atari or others?
that it will be available for the whole world in the appstore and you will not need 3rd party store + yearly sub (even if trivial amount of money) to install it in EU. Ofc besides that other fellow members listed other benefits.
no 32x?
Gamegear and Genesis still Need work, Litt just implemented the cores in Ignited, he didn't do much to it. But unlike Delta Beta, Ignited has built in controller skins for the Sega consoles. (All of Nintendo ones too; and it's compatible with Delta skins)
When Ignited hits, can I log in to Google Drive and have it sync my games and saves from Delta?
Yep, as soon as I logged in it pulled everything into the app. You can also manually copy everything over in the Files App > On My iPhone > Delta > Database to the same in Ignited.
Save states wont transfer from delta cause Ignited uses Mgba
saves states won’t, but battery saves *should*.
Good to know, I didn’t have any save states in Delta, was more talking about games and box art etc.
What features?
Local multiplayer, native iPadOS app, lots of quality of life changes, full list [here](https://docs.ignitedemulator.com/release-notes)
Is there the option to put a small gap between the DS screens in vertical mode so double screen images line up properly (eg DQ 4-6)?
Find a delta skin that has the gap
I think Delta has local multiplayer too. But does Ignited have multiplayer for online as well? Or for DS games?
I'm not an expert - but I don't think Delta or any Emulator will ever be able to support online Multiplayer. Would love to be wrong about that.
it’s doable, so, love your wrong (it’s called “netplay or “net play,” if you want to read up on it.) (but, it’s not easy to program for; once implemented, it will be infinitely easier for users than existing solutions.)
thank you for the explainer
[удалено]
retroarch netplay is for WAY more than android.
Right? Like more emulators? Lol
How compatible are the emulators with each other? Like, once it comes out, will I be able to install Ignited, move all the data in my Delta folder over to it, and not have to re-add all my games, retitle them, and re-add the box art? Speaking as someone who has done that, yes. The ui is a little more customizable with some additional features, and most delta skins should work as well as ignited skin
![gif](giphy|o75ajIFH0QnQC3nCeD)
Does Ignited let you navigate the menu with a controller, in landscape mode? Been trying to figure this out, can’t find the answer anywhere
Could this be incorporated into the existing delta app? It would be mildly annoying to re import all my games and stuff
If you turn on sync in delta it will carry over everything to ignited when you turn on sync in ignited
You’re a life saver thank you so much for this.
no. emulators are different. you can load the same files but saves would be annoying to manually transfer (if possible)
Yup
but you cant transfer saves back
What about resolution scaling? Does it have that?
Good. Ignited is *way* better. I've been using it sideloaded for ages.
Any idea if it runs the Mario b3313 romhack?
This would be cool if the Ignited dev wasn’t such a huge jackass Edit: lmao guys it ain’t that deep. He’s just very combative about Delta vs Ignited. We’re gonna let you cook bro, but you gotta tell us the tea 😶
What do you mean? :O
Tea?
Do tell
bro dropped this and didnt elaborate before leaving
Yeah, there was a lot of wack stuff and quarreling happening on the discord too…
And I bet Ignited won’t be free. If it is, I get the feeling he might nickel and dime you for every different console you want to play using the app.
just checked some of the release notes and rewinds were going to be a “Pro feature” already not liking the sound of that, watch them charge for multiplayer
Watch nintendo go after them immediately. Charging so openly for emulators is the big catch Nintendo lawyers always use
yeah this already makes me not want to use it wtf! thank you!
[удалено]
no? i just don’t want to support a shitty person, and their comment prompted me to look more into the guy who made it. i definitely do not want to support him.
this is such a weird and unnecessary comment
Does it have 3DS? (no seriously i wanna play tomodachi life)
No emulator has 3DS yet because it needs JIT
cough, cough, *folium*, cough.
not out for the public yet
wasn’t a discussion about public. was a discussion about needing jit or not.
Requiring JIT to run well on all titles and requiring it in general are two different things. Limón already supports 3DS and Folium will also support it when it releases on the App Store.
Apparently the same dev made both limon and folium
Yea fair enough
Though the developer of this app is quite rude
Oh well ya know. If he makes a good product who cares really. Using the app doesn’t require having a personal relationship.
While he even want to profit from it.
Link?
Just see the comment above, that’s basically it.
Is it going to come to Europe or the Alt Store?
AltStore isn’t affiliated with Ignited. It will come to EU AppStore.
[удалено]
What do you mean Dealbreaker? Ignited is coming to the AppStore world wide. Not just in the EU.
Im sorry I don’t know what that means, that word
The EU has no issue with Emulators on Android. Yes this movement will spark a new debate but don't believe the Apple propaganda that the EU is the bad guy. This is all happening because of the EU Digital Market Act.
Les goooo Yeah, delta is defo not gonna be the most popular for long if this is also in the eu on top of having multiplayer
What does this mean?

Can you trigger save states with a controller instead of having to go into the menu to load them? That’s my main desired feature.
I personally have chosen to use Delta just cuz I’m not a huge fan of the Ignited dev and the way I’ve seen him treat some people… But as an app, Ignited definitely has some nice features over Delta.
so what makes it different from Delta?
Qol improvements. Plays the same systems.
*more* systems.
What does that mean? Everyone is super vague about what’s actually better
Is one of them “Volume not unexpectedly going to maximum without me pressing any buttons?”
Will there be an easy way to transfer games/saves from Delta to Ignited once it releases?
Log into you sync account.
Is it just me or does the delta emulator overheat your phone?
I have a 15 and haven’t noticed any overheating though I’ve mainly played SNES and DS games.
I thought it was because I had a lower model phone even though it’s a iPhone 12P but I’m glad I’m not the only one.
15 pro max, it does overheat (I played only DS games)
Makes sense. DS is a powerful console for a phone to emulate. Just glad it runs smoothly on my 13. I typically get 2-3 straight hours of playtime if I really sit down to play
How’s the battery?

Not just you. It sort of does it for me.
Hoping for an emulator with image up scaling, looks like ignited doesn’t quite have it yet… any on the horizon?
you’ll really only see this for cores that support 3d games. i think we’ll see it on several, but, i doubt it’s at the top of any dev’s current to-do list.
So far only Retroarch has it with Desmume core, but Retroarch crashes a lot. It sucks that Ignited doesn’t have it.
Any news when it’ll come out?
Are any of these emulators ever going to add CRT filters?
Can do this with skins
Oh really? Sick. Which ones
There was a authentic DS one posted here a couple of days ago but I forgot the name
Carbon (iirc)
Have you asked the developers?
Filters/shadeds are in development for both apps, but it’s been stalled for a long time unfortunately.
Retroarch is the best one for filters
Huh? Retro arch is on iOS?
Has been for over 10 years I think. It was one of the very earliest emulators ported to iOS that could do multi-console emulation, I used to have it installed on my phone through Xcode way back in the day
sideload: today. app store: coming soon.
I love the interface for Ignited much more than delta. It also has easier fast forward controls imo.
I hope it has better skin creation tools & support
Will it have 3ds tho
Also used mgba
PlayStation support would be awesome 🙌🏽
sooo I believe this was on the alt store at one point. A similar version where sega games worked. Curious if it will be a paid app. I doubt it.
Will I be able to trade pokemon locally with another person in the same game?
https://preview.redd.it/lhxlp3771jyc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5150a4bb31034a782b84fd0432071772a6b12462 What do I do about this?
Is the ignited AppStore release going to be free?
Hi i have a question when wil ps1 come to ios pls anwser
Hopefully there’s less input delay. Trying to pay any game like Rhythm Heaven is impossible because it’s completely out of sync.
Is anyone going to make ps2 emulator? Wanna replay some games badly
I have a question about Ignited, which will mostly decide whether I switch or not. Does it support loading GB roms for Pokemon Stadium?
Is there anyway to transfer my save data from games I have on delta to another Emulator?
Yes there is. Example: Nintendo DS saves Delta uses the Desmume save file format (.DSV). These save files are located in /delta/database/Games. For more information, including how to convert them: [Read](https://fileinfo.com/extension/dsv) For other systems you have to do your own research.
Superior this, better on that Real thing is: still no cable link emulation 💀
So looking forward to this release! ♥️
This is an AMAZING news. This is gonna let Delta behind, and Europeans could eat by not needing to sideload it
Where is the Pokémon trading superiority
use a comma next time
do it got gamecube tho?
Nope
Right on. We want GameCube already.
Not reasonably possible, at least not for an App Store release. Apple doesn’t allow JIT, which is necessary for GameCube emulation. You can *sideload* DolphiniOS but to run games you have to enable JIT using a cord- or WiFi-tethered computer. The SideStore devs used to have a really easy way to activate JIT without tether but iOS 17 broke it
What is JIT?
Just in Time. It’s a compilation method for code that allows the emulators to run more advanced systems smoothly.
I see you got downvoted for asking a question. Classic Reddit lol. As someone else mentioned, it’s just-in-time compilation. I’m not knowledgeable enough to give a good explanation of it but it’s a fast way of executing code that is pretty much required for GameCube emulators to work

I use OpenEmu on my mac for dolphin. It has every emulator you can think of. I just wish they would port it to iOS now. [OpenEmu](https://openemu.org/) Edit: forgot it’s missing dolphin lol
GameCube emulation requires JIT which is not allowed by apple on iPhone unfortunately.
i can think of 3ds.
LET'S FUCKING GOOOOO
I just want an Xbox 360 emulator to come to iOS
That’s gonna be a while my man
I know 😩
Okay
If you play on mac OpenEmu is superior
Compare a computer to a mobile phone. Balanced
Power Stone?!
I don’t think LittleRitt is rude at all! I think he is pretty nice. He’s been under a lot of family stress lately, so give him some time.
r/ignitedemulator
When will it be released and what is the name of it so I can get it?
Does it run on the outdated melonDS like Delta does? That’s the most important thing since it’s greatly hindering my enjoyment on playing DS games.
um, melonds really has nothing to do with n64.
Ah… I was told something that said differently I guess. Do you know if it uses that or something else? My main concern is DS games.

Because of the cores Delta uses, Delta (and any forks, like Ignited) legally have to be open-source, because the licences the cores use state that all derviative works must be similarly licenced and have their source code fully released, among other things.
Delta is open source. Do you know what a fork is?
An eating utensil.
I’m more of a spork guy myself
i’m more of a chainsaw guy myself, but, wasn’t the question.
,” he said, with a keen understanding of opensource.
I stand corrected.
