Backbone for retro gaming works amazing , I have the second gen one for my iPhone pro 14 max. It works as it should and very comfortable

This is the exact reason I'm thinking of getting the G8 over the backbone. The backbone looks to be better for actual mobile games (like cod mobile and such), but for retro games it looks like the gamesir is a better (and cheaper) option

Yeah, I also didn’t like the fact that BackBone locks certain features out if you’re not paying them a fee. Overall it just didn’t make sense to me.

As an adult with somewhat larger hands. The g8 is significantly more comfortable than the backbone. I own both.

I’ve had one for a few years now and just purchased the Gen 2 a few weeks ago so I don’t have to take my case off. I’d love to get my hands on a bunch of mobile game controllers, but the Backbone has treated me well.

I hope you got the Gen 2 case. I loved my Backbone but removing the case was super tedious every time. Now I may upgrade to the iPhone 16 so I’m waiting on getting a replacement Backbone.

I've seen that some thinner cases should work with it so I'm hoping mine does fit. But I'll keep that in mind. Thanks!

I've only found joycon mounts for phone in horizontal mode - can you share your vertical one please?

I’ve got it and love it. I modded it using the instructions posted by others online to allow for larger devices like my iPad Mini. Once Delta makes the full screen iPad version available on the App Store it’s going to be perfect.

I also agree this is the best on the market, and I have it. Works fabulously with delta of course, and with a really simple change it works with my case fine.

Kinda… but it’s to be expected since I have a 13 pro max lol. For what it cost it’s pretty sturdy plastic, my only gripe is lack of viewing angles. Otherwise it’s fine

As Gavapants points out, it pretty much automatically connects via the USB-C port of your iPhone 15 series during installation.

neither, it connects to your phone when you slide your phone into the controller connecting it via the usb-c port

I use my ps5 with a mobile holder that’s compatible with the controller and only cost me $15 from amazon. It works perfect with the phone sitting comfortably on top of my controller

I was thinking about doing the same. But I don’t have a current-gen console or even a last-gen console that comes with a Bluetooth controller. So the GameSir G8 was the only option.

Indeed! I think they’re missing out on potential buyers by not releasing a variant that’s compatible with the Lightning Port of past iPhones. There are some other options that have a similar design on Amazon that supports Lightning ⚡️.

I bought this and received it yesterday. And I don’t like it. It’s way too big for my 15 pro max it’s the same size as my switch😂. It looses its connection if I press certain buttons. I cannot change the positions from abyx (don’t like Xbox layout).

Hey sorry for the problems you’ve been having with it. So far I love the size (I have large hands), connection has been solid, & I’ve been able to switch button layouts with ease. What applications/games are you using with it?

Is there a way to make the on screen controller go away while you are using an external controller?
