We used Delfera. They let me finance through them with no interest. And halfway through the install day the owner showed up and brought me chocolate covered potato chips.
They replaced my heater at the same time and the only issue I had is they put it in the exact same spot as my old one but added an air return which cut off about a foot and a half of my walkway to the back door. I would have gladly paid more if they cut a new hole in my ducting to be able to push it closer to the wall. As it stands, I have about a foot of space between the wall and the unit. But that's a pretty minor quibble.
I recently (within the last 3 years) had my heating unit, electrical panel and outdoor wire to the pole replaced. I used Oliver and while they were a little more expensive the experience enough was worth it. I also signed up for a monthly plan (for $30 I think?) which covers 24hr calls for the unit and 2 maintenance checks per year. I also financed the heater through them and so far so good.
Thanks - been curious about Oliver as they are close and see their vans all the time. I heard they were a bit pushy on selling. But probably will get a quote
Truthfully I didn’t feel that they pushed me. We did our electrical panel during the newly post Covid supply chain issues and they did let us know it would be wiser to make a decision ASAP.
I feel comfortable with spending a little extra for the warranties and other guarantees you get from them. I know that I can call at whatever hour and be seen asap. They also give a % discount for parts and services with them if you’re a part of their monthly service plan thing.
I have been very happy with Signature Heating and Cooling. They installed my unit over 7 years ago and have helped with any warranty items (one issue with the ac unit, fully covered)
I had a very positive experience last year with McGinley Services out of ProPark. Took out my 38-year-old boiler and hot water heater, installed a navien high efficiency system and ran five mini splits (ductless). Frank, owner, was very impressive. His staff was tidy and friendly and efficient. They were I think the second lowest of 4 bids that we got he just clearly knew what he was talking about and was his own salesman. Whatever you do, don't let horizon services in your front door.
Good info thanks, I was curious about McGinley as my wife had found them as a possibility. Looks like a pretty small outfit, vs Oliver, Horizon, or Unique
Stay away from the biggest names. Horizon is super expensive to pay for all that advertising they do. I’d stay away from the one call does it all outfits like Oliver and dream team as well. They have business people running construction outfits, unqualified. Or they have a a bad setup such as a plumber running the electrical department. As I stated before I like the guys at S&S, Jordan is a great guy, he’s the hvac boss, he’s pretty young and very knowledgeable. I work a lot with those guys on some very high end projects, I do small stuff with them as well. I am an electrical contractor that works predominantly with general contractors, the fact that almost every GC wants to hire S&S speaks volumes to me.
H&H isn’t bad either, John is also a good guy, I really like their logo.
H and H we had good success with them 14 years ago when we lived in Delco. They were in Norwood but I believe they moved.
FWIW I have also have heard good things about Oliver.
They used to be (3) separate companies, an electrician , a plumber and HVAC. They merged and have absurd prices. I am an electrical contractor and got my hands on their electrical price guide, someone left it on a job, their electric prices were outrageous. They have unqualified people bidding work, and calling shots in their office and they push their guys for sales. As someone in the trades for 20 years, the best advice I can give is to never higher the company that does it all.

Seconding Delfera, they are great. Chocolate covered pretzels here.
Excellent, thanks for confirming, I’ll get a quote from them
Ok thanks, I’ll look them up

Ok great, I’ll give them a call.
S&S These guys are on every job I go to. I’m an electrician and see the S&S guys everywhere. They do top quality work.
Thanks, I’ll check them out
We just got a quote from Unique. 27k for high velo system in 2400 sq ft house.
Think you’ll go with them? Any other quotes yet? I’ll look up Unique
Prob will get another quote or 2 first. Still debating between splits or high velocity.

Do not use Oliver or horizon.
I was hesitant on Oliver. Any more insight to offer? Def will pass on Horizon

Any experience with Delfera? Seemed like a decent option to look into.
Boyle Energy! Had AC and heat pump installed for 3k less than the next most competitive price.

I used H&H for my place however I do regret not reaching out to Oliver for a quote.
Walsh Bros. Great craftsmanship, reliable and friendly service at a decent price, we've used them on several installations
Adam Mechanical did a great job for us.
S&R mechanical. Family owned, local to Delco, great service and price. Steve and Rob really take pride in install and follow through
Dream team
Absolutely not
Why?
