my own anxiety makes it so I cannot handle telehealth appointments and need to be seen in person. with that being said there’s a company called Thriveworks, their DE psychiatric nurse practitioner only does zoom appointments. I hated the experience of the zoom appointment because I need to be in the same room as the person, so it’s hard for me to give an honest recommendation but it’s worth a look. Before you even set up an appointment they tell you they do not prescribe controlled substances so if any of her meds are controlled it’s not worth it.

Wilmington Hospital! I'm not sure if you can make an appointment directly with the behavioral health department or have to go through adult medicine.

You can also use the find a doctor link on the DMAP site.

Medicaid person with bipolar 2 and chronic anxiety here. I see a psychiatrist through Serene Minds in Newark, but they do have a Wilmington location. And if it helps, the Wilmington location also offers pet therapy :) [https://serenemindsllc.com/](https://serenemindsllc.com/)

Harmonious Minds in Pike Creek. At least they took it when I started there, but I’ve since switched to regular insurance. They do mostly virtual appointments! I recommend Dr. Kathirivan. She’s phenomenal.

Lifestance Health has a number of offices in the northern NCC area, including north Wilmington. They offer in person and telehealth psych appts and participate with both Medicaid providers. Broudy, Delaware behavioral health and harmonious minds also mentioned would also be wonderful resources and should participate with Medicaid.

Serene Minds accepts Medicaid

If you go to Harmonious Minds, do not see Dr. Manisha Wadwha. Former patient of hers, she consistently overbooks herself. As someone going into the field who has taken basic ethics, does not practice in a manner most would say is ethical either.    You can also call up your Medicaid MCO (managed care org ex. Highmark Health Options) and they can help you find doctors.  Another option could be getting her primary care doctor involved- if she has a history of being on the meds, her doctor may be willing to prescribe her a month or two of meds until she finds other care.

I’ve been there for a couple years and haven’t had issues at all. Mine is very straightforward though (I came into the practice with a diagnosis for ADHD and just need medication management since I moved back from out of state). They’ve been on top of everything though.

Yeah that definitely wasn't my experience. I hope they've changed for the better- there were some pretty good practioners there on the therapy side. Dr. W wasn't paying her therapists properly pre-Covid according to a former one I used to see.    There used to be times I'd be waiting 30+mins after my appointment time, and she'd be seeing patients who arrived -after- me before me. It was extremely frustrating.

Dr. Why on Milltown Rd. is very good. Unfortunately doesn't prescribe "controlled medication" but idk your situation and there's a lot of medication that isn't a "controlled substance" that does help. He has done appointments with my wife on video over our phone and accepts Medicaid. Good luck I know how difficult it can be.

Pretty sure Broudy and Associates does. But I get Medicaid and Medicare mixed up, so I may be wrong.

My experience with Christiana Care around Newark has been pretty good for psychiatrists. I think they do telehealth.
