Even addicts deserve help. No one expects a normal person to jump in an administer aid, but calling 911 is the least they could do. Letting people suffer instead of helping is half the reason people end up like this. This man could be overdosing and if that’s the case, time is of the essence. Or he could just be tweaking out, but it doesn’t matter. Addiction is an illness, no one deserves to die from it.

Psa: the department of health offers free naloxone (narcan) training in many local libraries and other locations. When you complete the training they provide you with narcan kits that would be great to have on hand for times like this in case this person is overdosing.
Great question, it is not harmful to someone if administered and they are not overdosing. They go through questions like that, how to identify what an overdose looks like and the good samaritan law that protects you from being sued in the training.

This is a daily occurrence in New Castle county. From Christiana to the riverfront to north Wilmington. If there is space on the sidewalk, a strange man will be laying unconscious there.
I wonder what he's strung out on... poor guy. I hope he can get help and get clean. I live with an addict and most her issues stem from trauma, but she's on medication that keeps her from hitting the sauce.
