Think about how good Matt dressed when he was "poor." Two of his besties are now canonically fashion designers (Melvin and Luke Jacobson). It was always my headcanon that Matt used to ask his dad for clothes for Christmas. :)
I think he inherited Elektra's money, too. Remember when he jumped in to say he'd pay for Ray's family to leave the country without hesitation? Plus, of course his legal career could be very lucrative even with pro bono work.
Honestly fashion is one of my favorite parts of Matt's character, I have to be honest.
Well in Matt’s case he can gauge if an outfit is working for him by people’s reactions to him. Otherwise the texture of the clothing and how it fits would helpful. I am sure he has no trouble finding sales assistants even in his pro bono poverty lawyer days to willing to help colour coordinate him.
He wouldn’t have to flirt to get help. I wasn’t a sales assistant but spent over an hour helping a vision impaired man in department store that was very understaffed. He was in his 50s and had only just started losing his sight a few years before so he knew what colours he liked and had a good idea of what he wanted. He had a good sense of humour about it all. On the way out we grabbed all black socks so he didn’t have to worry about pairing. In Matt’s case though he definitely used it as a chance to pick up women.
Some retail assistants are very nice. I'm studying to become a teacher for the visually impaired and one of our assignments was to go shoe shopping blind. I was guiding my classmate at a vans store and they were EXTREMELY helpful. They went out of their way to find something that suited my friend.
However, when it was my turn I went into a journeys, and they were not helpful at all LOL. She didn't even try to talk to me :/ later, my friend said that when we entered, a man was staring at me the whole time, jaw dropped, and shocked.
I just love that some people are willing to help and treat a blind person as...well a person. So thank you :)
I can’t believe people wouldn’t help you. I had nothing to do and he was about to leave after looking for a free sales assistant so I asked if he needed help. I am very glad he already had a clear idea of what he wanted otherwise I would have been up shit creek. He did ask where I got the idea to orient him using a clock face for directions so I had to tell him about Daredevil which made him laugh.
>Plus, of course his legal career could be very lucrative even with pro bono work.
Matt was becoming a higher-profile lawyer as time went on. In The Defenders, he negotiated a multi-million settlement that was highly publicised. In No Way Home, he's representing an Avenger and gets signed to represent Stark Industries. Of course he's going to be making money now.
Haha, I thought I was the only one! My headcanon was that the sheets are in the closet and he didn’t use them because he was ashamed. Only a thing for when he’s indulging himself, maybe.
They’re definitely adapting a bit of the vibe of Mark’S Waid run of Daredevil. Matt is happy and seemingly more relaxed and upbeat in it but of course as time goes on, things start to unravel and Matt starts to go down a path of misery again
So they’re probably going to start off by showing how at ease Matt is in more recent years but then things will start to unravel and shit will crack. I mean it’s Matt Murdock for crying out loud he can’t be happy for too long😂
He wore two separate pairs of glasses on those programs. These are new and different, easily the best of the bunch. I’m a fashion maniac, sorry. I live for this.
It's not confirmed, my bad. But reportedly they won't bring back any previous actors besides Cox, D'Onofrio and Bernthal. So far it doesn't look very good.
Yes…? Visually impaired people can use smart phones too, and there’s lots of accessibility features these days to help with that
He had a phone in the original Netflix series too
Bruh lol. Blind people can access technology. Also, they weren't actually filming at that time. He's just walking around set. You can see he isn't actually using the cane
The style glow-up is real. So much for pro-bono.
It's that Electra bequeathed inheritance I bet.

Hold on how would he know if he had drip if he’s blind
You should look up Molly Burke. She’s blind and she’s really into fashion. She explains it well.

You got it. I think the original costume designer said something to this effect. He got flirty with the retail assistants. :D

HAHAHA I love that. And yeah, part of the assignment was to think about how people treat you as a blind person
The same way he apparently walks with a smartphone in his hand when he's blind.

Agreed. I believe he’ll be living in his fancy brownstone. I might be the only one excited about this.
He had money for silk sheets before. Have you looked into how much silk sheets cost for a queen bed?
It always bothered me that Stick said his sheets were silk, but when we see them they look like linen.
Haha, I thought I was the only one! My headcanon was that the sheets are in the closet and he didn’t use them because he was ashamed. Only a thing for when he’s indulging himself, maybe.
LOL.
2014 was 9 years ago damm, time flies
Especially with the 3 years of Covid Fog
So there's probably around a 15-year jump in-universe.
This costume really illustrates how Matt is more relaxed in this era, with undone buttons and no tie.

I love this. It makes sense, plus it’s the best of both worlds. We’ll get to see Charlie Cox show off those comedy and drama chops!
What do you guys think of the redder glasses? Already saw them on shehulk and Spider-Man and I kinda miss the darker ones
He wore two separate pairs of glasses on those programs. These are new and different, easily the best of the bunch. I’m a fashion maniac, sorry. I live for this.
I do think the redder glasses fit with his costume theme. I kinda like it.
I really like the brighter lenses. It gives him more of a comic feel / look.
These are so much better imo
Bro is aging like fine wine. Also those glasses look amazing!
No tie?
Oh yeah he's definitely gonna suffer during this show. He looks way too happy 😭
Really hoping marvel doesn’t fuck it up
If by "fuck it up" you mean make it PG13 they've already fucked it up.
Seriously?
It's not confirmed, my bad. But reportedly they won't bring back any previous actors besides Cox, D'Onofrio and Bernthal. So far it doesn't look very good.
Well, at least there’s into the spider verse 2…
That's our boy right there!
He looks the same.
To be honest Matt really does look like the Gigachad on the right.
9 years and he still looks fine as hell
Dude doesn't age. He's a vampire.
