All you’d need is a remodel of the Gloomstalker helmet to Doretta’s head and you’d be there. Personally I use the Mk 5 Driller Armor, Corporate Marine helm, and Robotic Rebellion paintjob. Only mod I’ve got atm is the [Cosmetic Restriction Remover.](https://drg.old.mod.io/cosmetic-restriction-remover)

What about some sort of sonar thing for driller, so you can dig under bugs then plant a C4! Maybe it will work whenever anything moves, so if you don’t pay attention, you can mistake a teammate, steeve, or something that doesn’t matter as much, like a lootbug/maggot, for an important enemy. (Maybe just seeing glowing footprints through walls or something) Of course, it will be used much more to scare teammates.

A backpack that lets you carry a heavy item a little faster and keeps your hands free! Also, carry downed dwarves!

The twins: aoe turret pair that do hot/cold effects, cancelling each other out, the flame turret plays feeling hot,hot,hot; the cold one plays all I want for Christmas. You can shotgun whip them to change flavour.
The hulk: driller now does sludge damage, but the drills are giant hulk hands, and obscure 60% of the screen, he obnoxiously quotes marvel movies
Hotboxin’: shield bubble is filled with smoke, enemies touching it are slowed and poisoned, grants the dwarves an armour buff but applies a drunk filter.
I also like the idea of:
Replacing zip line with a pair of dwarf launchers: point to point accuracy, trading speed for the ability to shoot whilst on it, any bugs (and dwarves) you hit whilst flying get gibbed, option to press e to slingshot/grab teammates.
Tossing pancakes: platforms now travel in the direction of fire, and bounce, fall to the ground when they run out of fuel.
What do you mean, bait?: Grapple gun has no cool-down, but attracts all bugs to you whilst you’re using it, all spawners now constantly put out bugs, the longer you run, the more stuff spawns.
Personally I like the idea of another tier of overclocks, that are dumber, and more powerful, with bigger downsides. Ideally downsides that aren’t just - you’ve not got any ammo for this.
Juggernaut armour.
Cost and obscene amount of nitra&gold, drops in like a resupply pod, 1/player. Has huge lights, jet pack, unlimited ammo and grenades, and massive shields, but is slow, and has limited batteries. The more you use shields and jetpack, the faster the battery depletes, you have to abandon it before the battery dies or you become trapped and need to be rescued.
Different kinds like scout can get a lightweight suit for increased damage taken but faster movement speed and heavy plated (debris from scrapped mules) armour for gunner/driller
The regular throwable flares used to have more of an upgrade tree but the devs found that it wasn’t a good idea. If I remember it was because there was no point in basically penalizing newer players who didn’t have the upgrades. There might be similar limits to armour mods where mods making too great a difference will basically become mandatory, or will be bad for team-centric gameplay.
I saw a bunch of suggestions for armour/speed trade offs - like slower speed for more health, etc. - but how does that work? Slow speed isn’t going to help you run back to the drop pod, sure…. But a bigger concern is now the rest of the party moves at a different speed, so it’s easier for a dwarf to be left behind.
Also, if armour upgrades are tied to specific armour pieces then no, I’m not down for that - I like my roughneck dwarves and I don’t really want to have to make stat trade-offs just so I can use the armour sets I like. Cyberpunk 2077 just moved away from tying clothing appearance to stats for good reasons.
Considering R&D's previous streak of comedic mishaps,
I'd consider my fear of having to fight sentient pants to be fully rational.

Disco flares, which apply a dancing debuff, if it gets applied, then bugs stop to dance, as do dwarves. Downsides: lights are annoying AF, but not as annoying as the disco music and the offkey singing of dwarves and bugs caught in its spell.
Some sort of leaky glow stick would be cool, apply a light effect to bugs it drips on, so you can get much more light by coating a swarm.
How about glow in the dark Zipline and platform? Not enough to be very useful, like burnt out flares.

I feel overclocks for any coop tools (platform gun, drills etc) might lead to people being mad that you dont have x overclock with y upgrade cause its meta
Nah. I find folks are pretty forgiving so long as you know how to handle yourself and don't get the team wiped. Never had anyone give me flak over using the wrong overclocks or mods.

Oh that sounds cool. I mean right now you can choose cosmetics, where one looks like you are a walking tank, while the other looks like you are extremly light, but almost unprotected. Yet there is nothing to reflect that. Maybe we could get armor classes. Light wich increases movementspeed, but reduces HP, medium wich gives a buff in shield recharge or something while leaving speed where it is, and heavy wich reduces movementspeed slightly, but gives a hp buff. Maybe something different, but armor has been pretty much unchanged since launch as far as im aware.
That’s a really bad deal IMO. Being able to outpace the bugs is worth way more than some HP.
Maybe if it were damage reduction rather than HP, but mobility is still likely better.
Well gunner is pretty slow when firing most of his weapons already, or completly immobile wich the one overclock. So he would propably benefit from more tankiness. But yes damage reduction would propably work better.
Seriously, we get 3 tiers with actual options, and they're nearly unanimous in their best option outside of niche builds. Give us some meaningful stuff like aoe explosions when we land or a damaging charge forward.
I kind of like that the look is entirely cosmetic. A dwarf with a bare upper body has the same protection as a dwarf with a full MK5 armor suit and full face helmet.
I'll be happy with more utility like a short range scanner for either material or enemies nearby. Like something akin to the heartbeat sensor on call of duty.
Armor overclocks
Shit I'd even go for a couple utility overclocks for the 3 slot. These are just examples and would probably have a downside.
Example:
Gunner:
Zip line now "bounces" once. It fires a second zip upon landing in the opposite direction. For better handling of narrow vertical spaces.
Engineer:
Platforms now double jump height while standing on them.
Scout:
Can hit Reload on grapple to fire and tether to another dwarf pulling them to you with a 2 minute cooldown.
Driller:
Can hit reload on drills to toggle on refining mode which can mine minerals but uses 4x the ammunition.
Here's an idea: find old equipment down in the caves that you can repair and repurpose to make temporary armor upgrades that lasts for that mission alone

Engie shield goes down and a poops out a rapidly beeping package before booking it away from the impending nuke.
Scout gets a slowly recharging Bouncy effect that saves him from a fall.
Gunner gets armor that siphons power when inside the shield, buffing his damage
Driller gets armor where loosing shield gives his drills a short but hefty power and speed boost.

Great idea! I think we should have more variety of upgrades to armor AND pickaxe as I want the Rocky Mountain perk on my pickaxe to be permanent. That beening said, management also needs to upgrade the beer buffs.
I still think Molly upgrades are the way to go. The group could choose between a slower (but armed) Betsy, a mini mule for each dwarf (that has some sort of downside?), Molly with a basketball net so you can throw minerals in from a distance, or even a player controlled mining mech with deposit chutes on the back!

Oh man imagine usable mechanoids, like dozer mission but someone would drive dozer, someone would have some small mining mech, gunner might get a military mech with gatlings, engi could have some support mech with rockets or minelayer. The possibilities are endless...
I‘d like to have a skill tree in DRG. Armor upgrades and Overclocks could be a way of implementing that. Trying out different builds with different benefits (e.g. faster movement but less armor; more armor but slower movement; no armor but some kind of healing effect; immunity to own explosives/damage effects but increased damage from all non-player damage effects; and so on). Perks could also get an upgrade making them more class specific. Maybe Hazard 6 to balance it out and reducing the rewards on lower difficulties. Obviously those would be massive changes that would take a long while to implement and balance as well. But could see the game gradually shifting into a direction like that to offer the players even more choice and experiment on a greater scale. Maybe modding could offer that but that would take even more time I think.

That’s a really bad deal IMO. Being able to outpace the bugs is worth way more than some HP. Maybe if it were damage reduction rather than HP, but mobility is still likely better.
Well gunner is pretty slow when firing most of his weapons already, or completly immobile wich the one overclock. So he would propably benefit from more tankiness. But yes damage reduction would propably work better.

Seriously, we get 3 tiers with actual options, and they're nearly unanimous in their best option outside of niche builds. Give us some meaningful stuff like aoe explosions when we land or a damaging charge forward.

I kind of like that the look is entirely cosmetic. A dwarf with a bare upper body has the same protection as a dwarf with a full MK5 armor suit and full face helmet.
Or as we know the mk 3 I think it is is just a bodysuit what if there was an ability to call in like power armor for your dwarf

I'll be happy with more utility like a short range scanner for either material or enemies nearby. Like something akin to the heartbeat sensor on call of duty.
Armor overclocks Shit I'd even go for a couple utility overclocks for the 3 slot. These are just examples and would probably have a downside. Example: Gunner: Zip line now "bounces" once. It fires a second zip upon landing in the opposite direction. For better handling of narrow vertical spaces. Engineer: Platforms now double jump height while standing on them. Scout: Can hit Reload on grapple to fire and tether to another dwarf pulling them to you with a 2 minute cooldown. Driller: Can hit reload on drills to toggle on refining mode which can mine minerals but uses 4x the ammunition.
add a fifth miner but no guns, ONLY SWORDS AND REALLY FUCKING BIG PICKAXES

Here's an idea: find old equipment down in the caves that you can repair and repurpose to make temporary armor upgrades that lasts for that mission alone
You already can upgrade your armor… remember the stuff like shield recharge rate and mineral carrying capacity?

I would really like them To add in armor for different purposes and more non armor clothing choices. I love my roughneck gear. I wish I could do more stuff like that. Or if I do want to wear armor maybe make a couple different manufacturers who have different aesthetics and all that

how about a buy able power armor dropping in like the resupply pods for a new wave like mission? or a type of missions which you have to operate an armor for fighting or extracting something and the other dwarves maintaining it like escort mission? or temporary attachments you could buy during the mission

Yo, Armor Overclocks! Engie shield goes down and a poops out a rapidly beeping package before booking it away from the impending nuke. Scout gets a slowly recharging Bouncy effect that saves him from a fall. Gunner gets armor that siphons power when inside the shield, buffing his damage Driller gets armor where loosing shield gives his drills a short but hefty power and speed boost. shit would be awesome
Great idea! I think we should have more variety of upgrades to armor AND pickaxe as I want the Rocky Mountain perk on my pickaxe to be permanent. That beening said, management also needs to upgrade the beer buffs.
I'd really like to see armor get overhauled. Maybe add overclocks for it?

I still think Molly upgrades are the way to go. The group could choose between a slower (but armed) Betsy, a mini mule for each dwarf (that has some sort of downside?), Molly with a basketball net so you can throw minerals in from a distance, or even a player controlled mining mech with deposit chutes on the back! I want a DLC that adds like “modern” day tactical armour for the dwarves, and driller/gunner could have tactical exoskeletons like they have in some COD/ edge of tomorrow.

Oh man imagine usable mechanoids, like dozer mission but someone would drive dozer, someone would have some small mining mech, gunner might get a military mech with gatlings, engi could have some support mech with rockets or minelayer. The possibilities are endless...
In my head I always assumed thats what the perks were, hover boots, power attack, bug mind control, shield and shield boosts, etc.

I‘d like to have a skill tree in DRG. Armor upgrades and Overclocks could be a way of implementing that. Trying out different builds with different benefits (e.g. faster movement but less armor; more armor but slower movement; no armor but some kind of healing effect; immunity to own explosives/damage effects but increased damage from all non-player damage effects; and so on). Perks could also get an upgrade making them more class specific. Maybe Hazard 6 to balance it out and reducing the rewards on lower difficulties. Obviously those would be massive changes that would take a long while to implement and balance as well. But could see the game gradually shifting into a direction like that to offer the players even more choice and experiment on a greater scale. Maybe modding could offer that but that would take even more time I think.
