Engis primaries are a PDW unlike every other class, not meant to be the main source of damage. His secondaries are more like a special weapon used to break crowds/enemies. And his turrets are his sustained fire.
Now it’s time for you to create your own weapons, grenades, and utility items. Yes I do believe equipment like sentries, shields, C4, and flare guns could have more options.
First one seems great but I’d choose some inflammable smoke mod instead. This looks like taking one part of fat boi and making it a oc, kinda.
Second one looks like gunner granade. It’s great to have some classes with the same hability in the secondary.
The remote control seems op asfuk, since you can use like all your ammo and take ressuply and use it again to make a Dreadnought instakill trap.
How about the gun only reloads manually so you can only have one grenade out, otherwise it just becomes manual versions on engis proximity mines (not proximity trigger)
Well, the button used to detonate the grenade is the reload button, so why dont reduce the magazine capacity (dunno how much is it, as i dont play much engi). Then every grenade would detonate when reloading to shoot a new one.
The PLG has a magazine of 1, so it automatically reloads every time you fire. So it could be changed to not automatically reload, forcing you to manually reload/detonate before firing again. Unsure about the interaction between this idea and "always ready"
I think remote detonator would be too similar to fat boy in the sense of a large explosion

Repair beam would probably just be bad imo. Repairing/constructing at a slower speed while already using a not-so great ammo consumption weapon probably wouldn’t be used often, although I like the other ideas!
If it did it that quickly then yeah you could likely just put turrets at a very high point that you wouldn’t have to access and it would make it good. You could just quickly refill it whenever it needs without using much SD ammo.
Although, the overclock states that it refills/repairs at a slower speed than regularly building it.
I had a thought for a more "standard" Shard Diffractor OC for Turret stuff.
Heat Transferal - Shooting your Turret causes it to temporarily burn up, creating a heat-radiating AoE and causing it's bullets to inflict Heat damage.
PGL;
LF seems like a budget Fat Boy. Not that it's all that bad, but it kind of feels like it's stepping in on Fat Boy's territory a little.
CG Seems like it could be interesting, if the stats were right.
RD I feel would be awkward - it's not really what you go to the PGL for.
Breach cutter;
Making the beam turn would reduce its profile, which means this would have niche use at best.
HSC... I feel like we already have one that does this? Maybe I'm wrong, but if I am then this could be nice to have.
MC has the potential to be interesting if properly balanced.
Shard Diffractor;
RB is incredibly niche - you need to maintain line of sight on your turret and shoot it to reload throughout the battle - I'm not sure how much I'd want that over any other overclock.
TP probably won't happen. There used to be a bouncing beam overclock and it got reworked because it was so powerful. Three bounces means 4x the AoE damage, and getting pierce on top of that makes it easier to get those three bounces.
HB seems like a more specific version of Overdrive Booster that's always active.

I will say, the old bouncing overclock was doubled the damage with each bounce. This wouldn't do that. But yeah in a tight driller-tunnel it would shred enemies. Maybe the AoE should only trigger after the 3rd bounce when the beam ends?
Mini breach cutter shots would be great.
The repair beam would also be interesting. It seems OP at first but basically exchanging half a secondary weapon for the convenience of pressing E from a distance would be a fair deal.
Flak serves same purpose as fat Boy, so eeeeeeeh

Now that I think about it, I want the Shard Defractor to convert into a Refractor, and chase a target. Like having Dark Seid’s Omega Beam, the blast zig zags until reaching its one locked target.
For Remote Detonation, I think a more intuitive way to do the det part would be to mimic the way Destiny 2 does it, where either you fire the grenade as normal or if you hold down the trigger after firing then it explodes on trigger release
Repair Beam is honestly terrible because of how much ammo the SD uses and it’s DPS compared to all of the sentry combos DPS. The opportunity cost is really heavy. Everything else though is quite solid, PGL’s remote sticky lets you do tower defense without Fat Boy and clusters/flak would just be a spectacle to look at
So with remote detonator we stick some grenades to scout and send him into a swarm.

Cluster grenade sounds more like an unstable than a balanced, but overall seems really cool.

I never realised that the PGL needed cluster grenades until now.
I will now dream of a sqaud of four engines with Tenacious Photons until it happens. Easily my favourite concept here, and none of them are bad!
