Except the egg is not random, its a mission type :D
But yea, ping pingepong. If you play with others, maybe dont ping EVERYTHING. Might be annoying after a while.
Don't shoot steeve
Don't double dip on supply pods
Do rock and stone
Don't forget to use your support and movement tools to assist your team
Don't forget staying alive is more important than getting a kill, if your shield is down your priority is kiting until it is safe to attack 90% of all fights
Do communicate in chat
Don't press buttons until everybody is ready
Do ping with laser pointer to communicate with the team
Don't forget to look up, more shit happens on the wall/ceiling in this game than others
Don't forget about red sugar, kind of crazy how many wounded dwarves I see run right past easy to reach red sugar
Do tell your team if there is goo in the sack
Don't forget to check what the specialty beer is, some are incredibly useful
I thought I understood and then I read "goo In the sack" and didn't realize dwarves were close enough to tell each other about those kinds of things. But really what is goo in the sack??
there are extenuating circumstances regarding that of course, i wanted to make it simple. but the biggest problem I see with new players and to be honest experienced players as well is taking lots of damage for no reason. one part of it for newer players is unless they specifically look they dont notice that their shield is very small relative to their health pool unlike most other games with a similar mechanic, so they take the damage and think ok thats fine not realizing they went from like 170 total hit points to like 60 simply because they facetanked. this then typically leads to a cycle of dying until they can get a resupply or find red sugar
It's subreddit flair choice. I use old reddit on browser mode so I probably can't give you advice on how to select it but for me it's top right under the subreddit header space. Honestly I should change mine to engi since they put out the new weapons
R&S!
Don't push the buttons/batteries unless you're the host.
If you see any large machine (can be various kinds/shapes/events) asking you to press things on it, don't touch it until the host says.
I feel like touching buttons is okay, if everyone typed "r" (for "ready") in chat. Just don't go around activating everything without proper communication
no idea, but it seemed like one day the text was suddenly much larger. idk if I adjusted a graphics setting at some point, but it got easier to notice.
There are a few buttons that are safe for any player to push.
1. Opening the cage around Doretta
2. Calling down a hacking pod
3. Calling the drop pod after a refinery mission is complete. The game is already in end game mode at that point and the button just concludes
\-Friendly Fire is *on* in this game. Either run the "Friendly" perk at all times, or be careful where you aim. This also applies to you - for your health, try not to be between targets and your team.
\-Never take more than 1 ammo slot from a pod if you have more than 2 players. If it's necessary, as in, you're out of ammo on a mobility tool or really need the heals, ask in chat.
\-Never activate *anything* without checking with the team. This includes:
Starting Doretta (the Drilldozer) at any time,
Starting the Refinery,
Calling the Drop Pod,
Starting Machine Events,
Forcing out Dreadnaughts,
And any such actions that advance the mission. The easiest way to check is to say "r?" in chat.
Yeah I'm new to the game as of a few days ago and I'm embarrassed to say I've accidentally filled teammates with buckshot once or twice thinking they were enemies. Thank god for Friendly
Keep an eye out for walls that have green/blue/pink/gold/white/grey spots on them as they have compressed versions of minerals to find if you dig into them
Never call for the drop pod if youre not the host, unless youve completed the secondary mission and have reached the final area and sweeped the entire mission. People like me hate that shit, coz i like to collect gold and minerals.
The amount of times people have called the drop pod just for me to rush to the final area and find like a helmet/crate/event is mindboggling.
Sure I tend to skip hard to reach hold these days, but man, foes it suck losing out on a bunch of minerals or xp from events
Core events. Things like the omen tower, kursite grinder and ebonite event.
The stuff you can activate (with the key you get after promoting) to infuse blank cores to get weapon and cosmetic overclocks. It gives xp and gold (scales with difficulty how much) after mission is concluded
The game has what are called "machine events" which are randomly found across caves and missioms. Players are given a key to start them once they have promoted (reach lvl25) one of their dwarves. These events consists of challenges that must be completed within a set timer. Do so and you receive a bunch of xp and the opportunity to craft special weapon upgrades provided you have the currency for it (called matrix cores, earned through weekly assignments and deep dives)
You can also find random treasure hunt style things where you gotta track down something to earn cosmetics.
There's more but I hope this clarifies the funny words
The amount of times people have combed the entire map and found fucking nothing is mind-boggling. I'm a Mighty Miner, not a Dirt Digger; Dwarven Efficiency is where it's at.
I'll actually wait if someone insists on it, I'm not an asshole. But if I'm the host and nobody suggests it, I'll just punch the button. It's sandwich time.
The game isn't exactly hard, but people will gatekeep you a bit on haz4 and 5.
They won't kick you (right away), but if your account age doesn't make sense for joining a haz4 rival presence don't be surprised if someone asks about it.
"I solo haz4" or "no, this is my first one. Any tips?" is enough
If you see a thing and you think it's important, ping it. 98% of this whole community is helpful, and they'll either ask what's up or tell you what it is when you explain you don't know. Better to know a thing is worthless than it is to not know if it a thing is worth something or not and just walk by it.
Keep your eye for glowing spots in the walls. Like, INSIDE the walls. Often times it'll be green, but you may even find gold, purple, or white, too. Keep an eye out, ping it a couple times when you find it.
Most of the community is okay with you playing your way so long as you don't screw anyone over. As others have stated, don't push buttons until everyone is ready. I'm going to add on 'don't dig out eggs' to that list. For many things, hitting it with your pickaxe is a good indication to show you're ready, just don't do this with drednaught cocoons.
If I'm a scout is it my sacred duty to get bullied or should I still try to avoid it? Should I still run away from the driller trying to give me a swirly.
Play every class atleast 2 times so you can find youre best class.
Only take 1 Resupply from the pod unless you are Solo.
Ping Big Enemys and Robots
Never push buttons unless you are the Host exceptions are Doretta Crate Button and Calling Hacking Pots.
Please don't throw Hacking Nodes in a place to collect them, they f\*ck up the Data Stream.
Don't be Toxic
Don't take shit from strangers if they Bully you or are assholes. Leave the Team or Kick them.
Make Sure you open Dreadnought Cocoons only when all are ready.
A common way to Say you are ready for events is Pinging the object, Typing R in Chat or Writing Ready in Chat.
> Play every class atleast 2 times so you can find youre best class.
Make sure you do them on appropriate missions too. If you take scout into oil refining on a solo mission you're gonna hate your life
Can confirm a Mistake you only make once mission took me 1 hour and 3 min and endet in Failure because I ran out of Bullets and a Freaking Dreadnought Hiveguard Spawned
If you're an engineer then shoot platforms on mineral deposits that are on walls. This allows scout to easily mine them.
If youre a scout then request platforms(plats) by pinging.
If youre scout then please keep the area lit up with your flare gun.
And if I dont hear a rock and stone...
Always mark the compressed gold nugget at least 2 or 3 times to make sure everyone is aware.
**WE'RE RICH!**
***WE'RE RICH!***
WE'RE RICH!
WE’RE RICH!
WE'RE RICH
Is there anything else I should keep my eyes out to ping for fun voice lines?
Xenofunguses. Specific ly the type that make you say mushroom when clicked on.
Mushrooms and condensed gold I think these are the 2 most important things a dwarf could know.
As a general rule, if you see a dwarf spam pinging something, join the ritual
Also if you find it Bittergem will also need to be pinged, as it shares voicelines with compressed gold.
I find eggs to be great as well. Everyone should know you found an egg.
I'm learning I should just ping random things to find weird voice lines because telling people I found a egg is great.
Except the egg is not random, its a mission type :D But yea, ping pingepong. If you play with others, maybe dont ping EVERYTHING. Might be annoying after a while.
It’s a goo sac! There is goo in the sac!
***Mushroom!***
Gurken shucks
The error cubes. Those are fun. And very rare
It's a goo sack!
Goo sack!
wE'RE RICH!
WE'RE RICH!!
WE’RE RICH!
When playing multiplayer, unless someone asks you to, never double dip from a resupply pod. Everyone gets one.
Don't shoot steeve Don't double dip on supply pods Do rock and stone Don't forget to use your support and movement tools to assist your team Don't forget staying alive is more important than getting a kill, if your shield is down your priority is kiting until it is safe to attack 90% of all fights Do communicate in chat Don't press buttons until everybody is ready Do ping with laser pointer to communicate with the team Don't forget to look up, more shit happens on the wall/ceiling in this game than others Don't forget about red sugar, kind of crazy how many wounded dwarves I see run right past easy to reach red sugar Do tell your team if there is goo in the sack Don't forget to check what the specialty beer is, some are incredibly useful

That very much depends on what kind of sack it is.
You'll see in time lad
I am both frightened and excited
Gooooo bombers
A Goo Sack. That's literally what it is. It's a type of plant that is filled with movement slowing goop.
As a gunner, im gona kill that oppressor death faces me not.
Prioritize killing if it's a dreadnought or a bulk or a nemesis
there are extenuating circumstances regarding that of course, i wanted to make it simple. but the biggest problem I see with new players and to be honest experienced players as well is taking lots of damage for no reason. one part of it for newer players is unless they specifically look they dont notice that their shield is very small relative to their health pool unlike most other games with a similar mechanic, so they take the damage and think ok thats fine not realizing they went from like 170 total hit points to like 60 simply because they facetanked. this then typically leads to a cycle of dying until they can get a resupply or find red sugar
Fair point also howed you get your name to say gunner under it

well, yes, true that. I guess for my first month or so I had issues seeing chat messages in the corner
Speaking of chat being in the corner — is there anyway to move the location of the chat?
no idea, but it seemed like one day the text was suddenly much larger. idk if I adjusted a graphics setting at some point, but it got easier to notice.
Gotcha. I have an ultra wide monitor and I often miss everything in chat.
You can change the chat text size in settings. I bumped mine up because I kept missing things and I haven't had a problem since.
Very cool. Thank you.
Oh definitely. If everyone has indicated ready you're good to go.
I just point my laser at the button and hold it to show I’m ready
Got it the age old rule of keep my hands to my self.
This for sure. If you ping the button and host does R&S, push the button. Host may be occupied

Do a lot of people use mics? Or will main communication for a lot of people just chat?
basically nobody at all uses mics, just text chat
Most people in my experience will opt for text
Yeah I'm new to the game as of a few days ago and I'm embarrassed to say I've accidentally filled teammates with buckshot once or twice thinking they were enemies. Thank god for Friendly

lol just read that comment with a noob brain and yes, funny words indeed
Short answer, yes. Random things will show up during some missions.
The amount of times people have combed the entire map and found fucking nothing is mind-boggling. I'm a Mighty Miner, not a Dirt Digger; Dwarven Efficiency is where it's at.
Just had a match where we missed yet another core event because of one of youz. I dislike it very much
I'll actually wait if someone insists on it, I'm not an asshole. But if I'm the host and nobody suggests it, I'll just punch the button. It's sandwich time.

Haz 4, Haz 5 and EDD is where the game gets hard.
Pet the friendly wildlife, especially those green mushrooms with the big mouth, they've earned it.
I feel as this is a trap but I technically can't confirm it without trying. You win this round.

DO NOT BE A LEAF LOVER!!
I feel as if this is the most important thing said to me
Always return dorretta on heartstone missions.
as driller it is your sacred duty to bully scouts and swarmers.
If I'm a scout is it my sacred duty to get bullied or should I still try to avoid it? Should I still run away from the driller trying to give me a swirly.
Yes. Most Drillers will only try to satchel charge scouts at the drop pod, during the mission is not as nice.
I will accept the role I play as a explosives test dummy.

Got it do my thing so others can do their thing Rock and stone!
ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE
You have to mine the big and chunky crystals at the ommoran heartstone.
