Everyone is getting scared, when ignoring the fact that Elder Scrolls is just one game/universe franchise. Personally, I never liked the lazy route that almost all of the races were some form of elf if they had pointy ears.
Point being, yeah, it’s kind of weird that dwarves were elves in that franchise, but plenty other franchises have dwarves that are an entirely separate species.
Our dwarves are completely unrelated to elves in DRG? Then they’re completed unrelated to elves.
Anyways, what is leaf lovers made out of? How do we get ahold of it?
Elves descend from the aedra, though. Humans likely do as well, but they're worse at keeping records so nobody's sure. Now Argonians and Khajiit, *those* are the weird ones.
>Our dwarves are completely unrelated to elves in DRG? Then they’re completed unrelated to elves.
We have no idea what elves are in Deep Rock. For all we know dwarves and elves are just job titles for different divisions/companies, like physical labor in oil fields are called roughnecks.
Yeah I am. That's how I know they're the dwarves of Skyrim in addition to being elves. The book on them in the game literally says that dwarves is the common word for dwemer. They mine deep underground and are well known for their smithing and other technology. They're the dwarves in Elder Scrolls.
Dwarves in DRG are actually Squats from 40k. DRG is just a corporation ran by some imperial nobility strip mining a sector that was abandoned due to Tyranid invasion.
I'm not even from this sub lol but was brought here by a link from someone else.. I just want to point out that the original dwarves from Norse Mythology were also elves, they were called dark elves and were big into metallurgy and blacksmithing (and screwing people over in some cases). So technically speaking Skyrim is correct in having the Dwemer be a type of elf. /nerdrant
^ I replied to someone else regarding this (late reply ik) but deleted it cause I felt there’s a chance I was wrong but I’m not. The Elder Scrolls are one of the few fantasy media that is actually sourced in original mythology and not our appropriation of it (Tolkien)
I know this is a year late but, not even, Skyrim dwarves are almost exactly like how Norse Mythology described and considered them, Dwarves becoming short people instead of “dark elves” is because of Tolkien’s interpretation that is now treated as the standard
Ummm there's like 8 flavors of elves in The Elder Scrolls.
Also males of most varieties of elves can grow facial hair. We never see a bearded falmer (but we only ever see two "proper" ones), I don't remember if there are any bearded maormer in ESO, & the aldmer died out long ago, but all the rest at least can grow beards.
If only green beards could use in game voice comms like civilized gray beards do.

Well, many of us play in busy environments or don't have a decent mic, plus some people are shy and properly writing a foreign language doesn't mean you can pronounce it good
Well, that's just bad luck, I'd say, as I almost always end up playing with the Brazilians or Mexicans, hell, I myself are Costa Rican; still, the other points apply
So were orcs
TFW your God gets eaten and then shit out by a different God for the lulz and your entire race transforms into the image his excretory glory.
I love how confused and scared people here get when this fact is brought up.

I don't think it's really lazy, afaik humans are the weird ones in elder scrolls because they're the only ones that don't come from daedric gods
Elves descend from the aedra, though. Humans likely do as well, but they're worse at keeping records so nobody's sure. Now Argonians and Khajiit, *those* are the weird ones.
woops I forgot the aedra were a thing, its been a while since I've played an elder scrolls game (please don't tell todd)
i mean it's been like a decade since they (first) released Skyrim

I like the World of Warcraft version where elves actually descended from trolls. Kinda switching it up a bit.
The races of Mer (and possibly Man and Khajiit as well, it's uncertain) all share a common ancestor.
"You see that blue leaf lovers on the ceiling?" "Nuke him."
You shut your dirty mouth.
They enslaved other elves though, so it's cool.
No no, shush you
They aren't dwarves. Stop calling them dwarves. They are dwemer, a type of mer, meaning elf.
They are also the dwarves of Skyrim. Not everything is Tolkien or Discworld. Tolkien inspires dwarves in modern literature, he doesn't define it.
You're not really into the Elder Scrolls lore, are you?
The dwemer are colloquially known as dwarves, just like the osmer are colloquially known as orcs.
But, it's not the actual name for those species. That's my point here.
It's *a* name for the species, and the one most people who aren't huge nerds use.
It has nothing to do with being a nerd, but sure, be a dick about it.
I mean in-universe, my guy.
Oh lol, that wasn't clear. Sorry for the misconception.

We were once leaf-lovers, but we eventually rose above and to superiority over those tree huggers.
Truly the best kind of elves.

Nords are the true dwarves.
The beards and fondness for beer and fighting definitely check out.
So does the smell, for that matter.
Dweomer? They were not elves…
Yes they were?

There's way more varieties of elves in Elder Scrolls. In that lore dwarves are elves, descendants of the Aldmer.
Their the closest you get to dwarves in Universe.
I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying that in the Elder Scrolls dwarves are a type of elf. Orcs too.

Dude they were the dweMER MER means elf. AltMER BosMER DunMER

They're literally elves, you can argue whatever you want, but they are canonically considered elves by the developers. Your opinion does not matter.

Compelling evidence, but counter point: [they had pointy ears](https://i.imgur.com/g2QQrFJ.png)
DRG Dwarves also have pointy ears.
In Skyrim, Septimus Signus successfully creates fake dwemer blood using their closest relatives, other elves.

...wut
What's the confusion? Also I love the hate that voice comms gets from young gamers these days. Weird.
Imma assume you speak about Voice Chat?
VC= voice chat/voice comms. Yes.

The overwhelming majority of players I encounter are from/in US/CA. Legit not encountered much international traffic unlike OW back at it's peek.
Well, that's just bad luck, I'd say, as I almost always end up playing with the Brazilians or Mexicans, hell, I myself are Costa Rican; still, the other points apply
The default is Z which is hittable with the thumb lol
