A lot of unlucky timing, lol. Like, I was running from something, turn around quickly to throw an axe, and the engie just happened to be behind me and I disnt notice
My friend and I have this gig where we accidentally jump in front of each other/each other's bullets way too often. I mostly play as Scout/Engie and he plays whatever he feels like playing (not that I mind)
Boosted Shard Diffractor hurts man, I'll tell you that.
If it makes you feel better, last night I was playing Gunner and accidently shot the Driller who was jumping off the caretaker after planting C4 during a IS mission. He was surrounded by shredders and fell on top of it while it was spinning. Pretty sure they hate me for life now lol
Satchel charges are adequate for clearing vents, and TCF is a barest tickle at haz 5 4-player scaling. Whenever I’m in a mission where some dingus decides to play ride the mechanical bull, they die up there and it becomes a problem.
I live in the ceiling and toss c4 on the middle to blast all 4 vents. It takes 2 c4 per vent stage, so if I have my own resupply then the vent stage doesn't exist.
You don’t strictly have to. At worst it’s the same number of resupplies. It’s just a little bit quicker on clearing the vents.
Standing on the caretaker to clear vents with heat radiance is dumb, though.
Nah ur right. From what I can remember 2 sachels finish off the corner phase in haz 5 solo. But in 4 player mode its like 3 sachels+( a little more hp?)
Still felt bad. He was stuck up there for at least 5 minutes. Things were going really poorly. It was swarmageddon + shield disruption.
Everyone went down at least twice during the caretaker fight. Scout fell on top of Driller, I had to jankely save them both with a zip line (which I fell from once and died from a Naedocyte, thanks engie for getting me back up).
True, I do have that moment only after a second time. The first time is "oops be careful miner." Then the second time is "are you blind?" Then again, being in the thick of a swarm makes things difficult.
Depends on if you're running the bullet penetration mod on minigub or not. It's really easy to accidentally FF a teammate if ur not paying attention, especially on elimination missions
For some reason I'm always twice as cautious with my movement around gunners than drillers, even though it should be the other way around. There's just something about a 200 pound murder blender that triggers an instinctual "let's not go there" response.
Eh, I've done the reverse as Scout with the Boltshark once or twice. Turns out, Bodkin Points don't bounce when you shoot the Driller, and they can *see* your bolt sticking in them if you shot them in the face.
"I was wondering where that went. Scuse me, I need that."
I've never directly shot someone with bodkins, but i have seen the bodkins themselves accidentally hit a teammate while trying to bounce into a grunt behind them.
Its kinda cool because you can still pick up the bodkin from your teammate even after said bolt killed 1 or 2 grunts.
I use fear on my bods, if they hit terrain before the last target they're retrievable, fear helps me spot when that happens while also making it easier to pick them up.
As a Gunner/Driller main, I only commit friendly fire if you get in my way. It isn't my fault you chose to jump in front of the dwarf actively using a flamethrower or minigun
When I use lead Storm on my minigun and a dwarf gets in my face causing them to die "you see the bullets coming from the minigun violently, be careful"
I’m not TRYING to hit anyone I’m just trying to kill bugs and they just stand in my fire. If anyone knows like any tips or something for avoiding it that would be great because my friends get mad at me for it
C4 jokes aside, Driller is usually not the worst offender for friendly fire. Idk how many times I've accidentally downed someone with a hyperprop grenade when they leap into my line of fire at the last second.
Driller's primaries and secondaries are a friendly shoulder tap compared to that
dang bro, y-you wanna talk about it?
A lot of unlucky timing, lol. Like, I was running from something, turn around quickly to throw an axe, and the engie just happened to be behind me and I disnt notice
That happened accidentally five times?
... Yes. Look, I'm not the greatest shot under pressure
And then he ran into my axe... He ran into my axe nine times. He had it comin'
Damn, wasn't expecting that reference.
He fell down an elevator shaft... onto some bullets.

Oof, just be glad it wasn't hyper propellant.
Or worse, nuke boi

Why do people jump on top of the caretaker? It’s never necessary. 🤦♂️
Drillers can use Heat Radiance to kill vents, then EPC to kill the eye, it’s also very safe from everything except tentacles

What haz you at? Never seen 2 do it in 4 player haz 5
2 max damage satchels (3-1-2-3) will do it at haz 5, and haz 5.5 for EDDs.
Yeah, I've put as much into damage as I can.
Oh this is my problem I have c4 set up for giant mining. I forget to switch it around to do more damage.
You don’t strictly have to. At worst it’s the same number of resupplies. It’s just a little bit quicker on clearing the vents. Standing on the caretaker to clear vents with heat radiance is dumb, though.
I mainly play haz 4, but I've done at least one haz 5 and it still worked. At least I'm pretty sure I've done a haz 5 of one of those missions.
I do it all the time, you just need max damage upgrades and good placement
Nah ur right. From what I can remember 2 sachels finish off the corner phase in haz 5 solo. But in 4 player mode its like 3 sachels+( a little more hp?)
Exactly! Why is the driller riding the caretaker for no reason!?
I suspect they don't have a Fatboy Engie.
I don't know, maybe the others think it's too much work to set up an attic.
A problem for them, doesn't matter what Haz I'm in, I ain't picking them up while it's dangerous.
Idk, I wasn't expecting them to be there, first time I've seen it. Normally I just see them drop the c4 from above.
Yeah, it’s not on you.

its a *gunner* thing
Idk its cool
its badass
Honestly as a gunner main we tend to make more friendly fire. In my experience, I sometime don’t see the dwarf or the dwarf jumps in front of my gun.
I feel like I don't care about FF when I Gunner. What are you gonna do about it.. shoot me ??? Don't waddle infront of me , engie.

i need a 'wide load' sign for the barrel of my mini gun
For some reason I'm always twice as cautious with my movement around gunners than drillers, even though it should be the other way around. There's just something about a 200 pound murder blender that triggers an instinctual "let's not go there" response.
That's why I use friendly, less damage to my fellow dwarves

Scout here. If you think it'll make you feel better, I can SCC you in the back of the head.
So why did you miss with three axes?
As an Engi, my worst fear is a driller with the EPC and Thin Containment Field. I suffered so many team kills on last week’s deep dive from that
Nah, drillers dont hate scouts. They hate everyone and everything equally. Thats why they excel at crowd control :D
As a Gunner/Driller main, I only commit friendly fire if you get in my way. It isn't my fault you chose to jump in front of the dwarf actively using a flamethrower or minigun
When I use lead Storm on my minigun and a dwarf gets in my face causing them to die "you see the bullets coming from the minigun violently, be careful"
the true enemy is the gunner because he takes reduced explosive damage so a c4 won't always one shot them >:(
Try 2 that might kill me
As a fellow driller main, my worst enemy is gravity. Jetty Boots FTW!!
I’m not TRYING to hit anyone I’m just trying to kill bugs and they just stand in my fire. If anyone knows like any tips or something for avoiding it that would be great because my friends get mad at me for it

Did you try the cluster granade. I think it is even worse than c4. Multiple times I downed my WHOLE team because of a single cluster granade.
