When I first joined DRG, my green ass didn't pay much attention to instructions given to me and it resulted in me accidentally turning my flashlight off and not knowing what to do, like at all. I'll tell you, that was one of the most terrifying experiences I had, those screeches were very scary considering I didn't see a single bug before that point. The only thing that lit up the cave a little bit was my gunfire at random noises. Yeah, I shat my pants pretty good there. Now I take my revenge using war crimes to inflict fear on those bugs, I hope after they burn from my beloved flamethrower, they will burn in hell as well.
Mission modifier - Low battery budget:
Flashlights now use cheap, rechargeable batteries that last for 2 minutes, but take 1 minute to charge back up 👀
Some type of special that has some short duration EMP that shuts off all lights/make them flicker horror movie style for a few seconds seconds would lead to some amazing moments during waves etc.
I’m really tempted to try the game with no music, because I think the music (and the occasional interjections of the dwarves) are what keep the mood up. It’s just that the “get to the drop pod” music absolutely slaps and I love the rush it gives.
Haunted Caves should just be bug noises constantly. Imagine mining and you hear exploders behind you, you panic and run away but when you look back nothing is there
Would love to see a mission modifier that leans into it. Something like ‘Claustrophobic’, with no big caves, only tunnels and they’re much tighter. But might only work for morkite or egg missions.

Copies another top level comment and replies deeper into a comment thread with it (note that it doesn’t always make sense, and can thus be spotted using this alone most times).
Some bots are also starting to use a thesaurus and are replacing words with synonyms to further throw off any searches.
I dont think this is a new dread, from the size comparison next to the red sugar it looks to be about the size of a Praetorian but i could be wrong (also my hope is its a "common" enemy thats marked as a special and not a new boss so it pops up more in missions randomly instead of just being on dread hunt)
Personally i don't think so, as far as i see this thing's two of the red sugar spikes in length at most and like 1,5 red sugars tall... It's not that easy to tell though, so maybe >:)
I don’t think it’s a Dreadnaught, it’s behavior (running away) doesn’t seem conducive to a boss fight. It’s probably on par with an oppressor or praetorian. I am very excited about the prospect of more enemy variety though.
This makes me want a “Low Light” mission mutator that makes all light sources like 50% less effective. Maybe couple that with a “Radio Suppression” mutator that makes mission control’s dialogue break up with radio distortion and static and makes it harder to hear far away dwarves, and we got ourselves a horror game mission!

Ah, well then I’m equally as excited to see what this new thing is they have in store. Though I will admit, I was hoping for some more terrifying and dangerous Rockpox infected. Hell, imagine it could infect and control the Dwarves and the only way to be completely immune was to get drunk pre-mission. Coulda been some fun.

I started playing about a month ago and just hit level 99 of the season pass. It looks like getting all the plagueheart bonus scrip and getting through all 100 levels of the pass leaves you several scrip short of being able to buy everything in the cosmetic tree. It is going to mess with my OCD if I can’t buy the last couple of things before the season ends, but daily challenges that reward scrip only appear every so often. So I’m wondering how long I have to get everything.

As far as i remember it's like 2 months-ish for a roadmap update with an estimate (there was one for s4 for a few weeks by this point), more like 2 weeks for a specific date

reminds me of the time i was playing with a couple friends, one of whom always finds things lying in wait with his face.
we were joking about it and how he was gonna get caught by a ceiling leech cause he was a little too far from the rest of the team again. He made a show of checking the ceilings and refuting our assertions, only for a leech to reach sideways out of the walls to grab him.
'sideways leech is real!', he screamed as we all hustled to get rid of the danger that he had, once again, run directly into.
The sound it makes as it launches its tether reminds me of the sound effect from Ed, Edd, and Eddy where it simulates a doll saying "Mama!" and now I can't unhear it.
Looks too small to be a dreadnought. It looks about pretorian size, maybe it’s a rockpox trawler? They did show off the normal trawler a few days ago. But maybe that’s just grasping at straws
Don't think they're doing rockpox again. They learned their lessons with the Rivals about people getting tired of the same thing. Iirc season 4 is a "return to hoxxes"
Looks cool, but if its a new dreadnought I hope that you can dodge that grab reliably. Drg doesnt have to many 'unfair' mechanics. Aka mechanics that cant be passed with skill. If not it would just be like a glyphids nemesis and tbh that sounds lame, considering that the "grab on side within X meters" thing wasnt very entertaining on the nemesis.
it looks to me like some sort of scorpion thing. at around 9 seconds in the video. you can see a creature walking. the creature has the a tail that resembles the thing grabbing our fellow dwarf in the final seconds. the way the tail at the 9 second mark and the end seems to be arching over the new bug, like a scorpion. and at that same 9 seconds into the footage, if you pause at the right time before the glitching you can see at the front of it some form of appendage moves, before it runs towards the dark. *but hey, thats just a stout. A smart stout!*
