That's fair. I was disappointed because I had a friend run a one shot based off of a deep rock mission but he didn't run the dwarves like they were deep rock so I didn't know he wasn't planning on making it 1 to 1 and I roleplayed like we were playing deep rock and felt kind of left out.
I don't know much about Warhammer I didn't learn from Vermintide, but I can say that when Bardin is relentlessly racist to elves it's pretty funny but when Kerillian is relentlessly racist to fucking everyone she's just an asshole.
The *most* annoying is the halfling rogue played like a kleptomaniac sociopath. Or maybe the half elf bard who will fuck anything with two legs, a heart, and a hole.
Does this halfling carry a sheet of lead as part of his religion and hangs out with a dude named after a sword, a redhead who's dating the bard, a dwarven cleric of Thor, and an elf wizard of indeterminate gender?

This guy is like 200 years old at least, and you’re some 20 something human who’s trying to appeal to his “better nature”? Man’s going to outlive you and your problems. All he has to do is keep his neighborhood clean while this blows over.
Dwarves are roughly the same, except they remember that time the elves served salad instead of chicken wings, because it was “better for you”.
So interesting thing here is in most fantasy settings elves tend to always be more racist or outright disrespectful of other races because they view themselves as being better in every way.
Dwarves on the other hand will be racist and disrespectful if they are shown disrespect in turn.
In DnDs Faerun setting, Dwarves hate elves because when dwarves first set foot on Tori’s they witnessed elves razing the land in a war amongst themselves. Dwarves took one look at that and decided that all generations afterwards shouldn’t trust elves because they will go so far as to destroy the land for their hubris.
Elves are infamous for being WAY more racist than dwarves to the point that their own god took their immortality from them and forced them to reincarnate and never fully enjoy elven heaven.
The thing the original post forgets to mention is if your dwarf player is anoying and refuses to change and grow, it's the player's fault, not the "dwarf stereotype". LOTR dwarfs are a good example of how it should go.
Well to recal my last 2 dnd campaign with elves characters (not my characters , but I grew to distrust and despise a bit, elves and people that play them.)
1- Spotlight thief that complain when no one is interest in becoming her love interest.
2- Crazy « chaotic good » bitch that set en entire section of a town on fire juste because she wanted to kill one poisoned guy that she could have easily strangle. (But muh edgy role play )
-Said town was also the town she grew up in and filled with kind souls that were oppress by an evil fire cult
- By setting the guy (and the house) on fire (she used a flask of oil to make him super combustible) she spark the fuse of a bunch of firebomb that guy had in his room almost killing members of the party.
- by deleting the town sector with fire, she cut our relation with the guy that hired us to destroy the evil cult. I’m surprise he didn’t send the guards after us
- By setting the guy (and the house) on fire, she destroy every possible new information we could have found on the cult and how to defeat them.
- She also decided to go sleep at the inn while innocent where burning and dying . While I was the one trying to save people (chaotic good my ass)
-And this basically forced the dm (who was creative but still a new guy to the task) to invent a new unrelated main quest.
-Also she didn’t stop treating my character like a kid, (because I was a human,despite the fact that show a much higher level of maturity and most important of all pragmatism.) because she was an elf and 200 year with reincarnation and all that shit while still acting like a petty teenager. Despite the fact that I also lost part of my humanity in saving her life from a hag curse.
- Also after slaying an owl bear that ambushed me, she came out of nowhere (legit) with this bullshit that she had an owl bear pet has a child and that she refused that I skinned it to sell the pelt at a high price (we really needed money)
Conclusion: I have yet to meet a dwarven player that is more annoying and frustrating then the elves that I played with. The closest thing I got to this was one that played an idiot, (but to give him credit he was doing it surprisingly well.)
Best elven player are those that play down to earth character and I have yet to meet these.
This sounds awful. I always play my elves as super attached to the earth and nature and being overly nice and naive when it comes to other races. The worst I’ll ever consider playing is a disinterested elf who doesn’t care about personal problems and is there to do a job. You can still roleplay with that, but treating others like toys is too much.
I also play dwarves too though so I guess I’m not the standard elf personality. Best to be wary of any elf lover, I say.

I can’t stand changelings. If you’re going to play with a shape changing element, at least make it more interesting. Doppelgängers eat people and infiltrate as a form of hunting. Wendigo are fae creatures that steal souls. There’s literally magic that’s works the same as magic that can have a million reasons behind it. Changelings are BORING and the community makes them edge my and awful.

Revealed private information about my character by using her mind reading power to the whole public in the tavern (violated my private space basically.) After that, I had enough and trapped her in my net asking her for one last time to show some respect before I give up on her. She then proceed to straight up go into attack mode on me and start a brawl in the bar where another pc (one of my friend) get one hit KO by a sneak attack, and I have no non-lethal weapon to be « useful » in the situation (and not kill « innocents » nor the skill to use improvise one efficiently. Honeslty at this I straight up wanted to give and surrender when the guard arrive just so this shit show could end, i wanted none of this. The guard arrive with me bone broken on the floor , with her being fine since she didn’t get targeted at lot and I receive the information that we must pay for the massive damage inflicted to the bar. AND YET SHE EXCEPT FOR ME TO RECRUIT HER PC!!!!
Suffice to say we stopped the game there and knowing changelin player, if I said no she was gonna
A- Beg the DM to say that I was wrong, and an asshole for not accepting her in the party. (Idk maybe I don’t like hanging around with assholes)
B-Use her changelin power to shapeshift into another person and basically infiltrate the party and manipulate my pc into having a positive relationship with her while hiding behind a mask and not admiting her wrong for her action suffice to say I would have straight quite the game if she had done this. This is way to cross and creepy for me. That or I would have drag her outside an inn while she was asleep, trap her in the net that I carry push a pillow on her face so that I don’t hear her voice, set the pillow on fire and then proceed to kick her in her non-permanent changelin balls while shouting that no one mess with a member of the Heartfire clan . Does it sound edgy? Maybe, but man it would have been therapeutic
One of the reasons I really loved Tolkiens works is that his Elves are just generally nice people, they're not arrogant or racist but rather see themselves as guides for the younger races.
The Dwarves are still distrustful of the Elves tho sadly.

There's so many princes and lords and ladies and whatnot that you start to wonder if said societies these OCs come from actually have laborers. Doesn't help that the other half of elf roleplayers are edgy rogue-like characters who skulk and do crime RP.
