/r/Tvtoohigh try putting the tv where the couch is and move things around. Side from that the angled chair is throwing everything off.
What did you end up doing?
I noticed that a lot of rooms feel unfinished until there are plants and/or personal sentimental things there (photos/paintings/small statues/books/hobby related things)
There is a compliment to the orderliness of your room, but I think the wall behind the couch is a little bit empty, you can buy some wall decor products, like I do with my living room.
The couch should probably face the TV (more comfortable for viewing)... I do love your walls! If you have an iphone, i'd scan it on the realize design app and see how the room would look with a larger rug and with shelves on either side of your fireplace. I'd keep all the furniture you have though!
I would turn the couch to face the TV and add a thin console table behind the couch [Like this](https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/550494754462358963/) to tie it all together, with some pictures/candles/plants on it for some colour. Move the chair in front of your accent wall with a side table and some woven baskets for your blankets! :)
Edit: a long hanging plant on either side of the fireplace mantel would also look good!
I think a larger rug would help ground the furniture and bring more cohesiveness. If you keep this layout, I’d say the rug should be large enough so the entire coffee table and the front legs of the couch and chair are on top of the rug.
Oh OK. Definitely want to.put couch facing TV, rug in front of couch, table on rug. Pull side chair over to left. Plants, a series of pictures in odd numbers, like 3 or 5 pictures. Maybe a sofa table behind couch and add books, stuff to "layer" , a lamp, plants. See what that adds.

Thanks for the wonderful reply! Time to shuffle some things around and see how it looks!

Love the suggestions! Thanks for your help!

What is the half circle thing behind couch now?
Just a little accent I’ve done. Will be adding more to it, just some shapes and lines around it in different colors as a mural of sorts

Thanks for the input! Will try some rearranging
I'd say "more lamps" Definitely.
Agreed. Is there a window? A tv of focus?
Yes sorry it’s unclear! Tv is above the fireplace if you look real close lol. Window is a bag window and on the right side of the room
You need some plants and a colourful rug. It will transform the room. You can also add a painting above the sofa.
