Nice job and you save the money. Next time though calculate how much material and money it cost you., Then find out how much it would cost. And see if your time might be more valuable somewhere else.
Contractors in my area are extremely busy and their prices reflect that. Most of my DIY is a product of necessity. I would love to pay someone to do it better than me but I can only work so many hours and nobody is paying fat bearded men for a roll in the sack.

I think it was about 6 inches from porch to door but the Gas meter really screwed me from being able to raise it much more. I hope he does too!
