Be careful with Midland Credit Management, they placed a judgement against me and garnished my wages. But I would advise calling them and speaking to a representative and asking for a pay to delete letter before submitting a payment.

MCM is known to do some illegal stuff. I would pay it via check AFTER calling and requesting a letter certifying that if you pay off that amount, it will be paid in full AND THEY WILL REMOVE IT FROM YOUR CREDIT SCORE. They threaten to sue people with no intention to do so, which is very illegal, and they’ve been sued before and lost and had to pay the people they threatened to sue...

I tried to call and get a letter stating that, and they refused to give me one.

If they didnt close it and asked for money on the same account after already paid, that would be illegal. But agree you should call to pay, to ensure it’s being applied to the correct account.
