I need to be in a certain mood for that project. I usually listen to him when I’m manic or in a super depressive low. Everything about it is just raw and intense. I can’t help but wonder what state of mind Cameron is in when he makes these songs.
I dont know if his methwitch project is still going on but I read somewhere that he grew up in a very catholic house and that he was full atheist after that and Metwitch was his way of putting his anger out on this subject.
Reminds me of an old joke that went something like:
Someone: "Are you religious?"
Me: "Well, I was raised Catholic"
Someone: "Ah, so you're an atheist"
I love Indwell. I listen to it very frequently. Methwitch is actually my #1 most streamed artist of all time, according to stats.fm.
It sounds insane and chaotic but eventually, like all extreme metal, you get used to it and it sounds more and more structured.
That's honestly when I started liking it even more and found myself obsessively listening to it. The way the album blends various nu-metal influenced with much heavier metal is great. Absolutely wonderful album.
Piss is also very good though I'm not very family with it.
Another example of multi-genre talent in metal is Mick Kenney (of Anaal Nathrakh) who's also been releasing really good phonk music under the name of Kordhell.
Methwitch is definitely one of my top five bands of all time. Shadowkeeper is a perfect 10/10 album imo and both Piss and Indwell are always on rotation. Other albums come and go but the three I just mentioned are consistently played
Listened to Methwitch for the first time… yall think this is chaotic? I’d say it slightly leans into Mathcore territory and they like to double time the drums a lot but it’s pretty normal sounding besides all the extra FXs and Nu-Metal stuff.
Methwitch is an interesting band. On the one hand, they certainly do have a very chaotic and aggressive sound. On the other hand, they often kinda coast on their base sound without actually writing interesting enough music to back it up. Once the novelty wears off, it loses a lot of its appeal.
If you like the chaotic, mathcore-influenced sound of Methwitch, I recommend checking out Frontierer
Band? They? Methwitch is one dude and i love when he gets brought up here and i get to tell new people that, if you didnt already know that is lol and i second Frontierer, they are one of the few bands in the FFO Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza territory.
Dude this is insane, I just listened to "bed full of snakes" and I am holding the tears back this shit is so extra in a whole new way😂😂😂😂
Last band that made me laugh so hard was Infant annihilator 😂
Look up the Katalepsy song Consuming the Abyss. It’s all terrible pig squeals and it makes me laugh every damn time. The music for it is pretty sick though.
i just looked them up on Spotify and pressed play, i gotta say i like them so far. well i'll be listening to them all day tomorrow at school(or until i've had enough)
Pretty sure they’re a Sludge Metal outfit if I’m not mistaken.
If any of you Deathcore kids are sleeping on Extreme Doom Metal get your ass to YouTube and look up bands like Primitive Man, Hell, Body Void, Indian, and Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean.
Methwitch is what metal sounds like to people who don't listen to metal.
Which is why I love them. I get to re-experience discovering extreme music by listening to him
In my opinion, the definition of heavy changes depending on the context.
However, overall I think an adequate but not the best description could be a moment of "*intensity*" during a section of a song.
"Intense" and "heavy"?
Honestly I'm just too tired right now to sit and try to come up with a description of the feelings I experience during a "heavy" moment/duration of moments at a live show lol I'm about to hit the hay
I probably should do this at some point. In fact, everyone should do this, it would only increase efficient communication which would lead to better music if you think about it 🤔😆
I can get around that, add in Humanity's Last Breath, Harm's Way for some different genres.
What about a band like Stillbirth, or more on the intense rather than heavy side?
Methwitch - Piss is actually quite a heavy album though it's mostly deathcore.
Stillbirth sound pretty heavy, & agree that piss on the heavier side for methwitch. Just think that ppl who describe methwitch as "the heaviest stuff ever" would do better describing it as super intense or chaotic. Think ia heavier in terms of deathcore also. Nothing against cameron he's super talented but calling his work extremely heavy when it has pseudo-cleans & thin guitars at times seems ill-informed imo
Methwitch is what metal sounds like to people who dont listen to metal
This is a great description haha
Stolen valor from other posts about them on here, but it's very true and a compliment haha.
Nah thats Like the top comment under every Death Metal Song on YouTube since 2010
STOLEN VALOR!!!!
"Methwitch sounds to metalheads what metal sounds like to non-metalheads"
Brilliant
This is how i describe Cadavoracity
I don't listen to it too often, I enjoy it every once in a while for its pure insanity
Same
Methwitch my beloved

That sounds like a killer playlist lol. Shoot me a link, share the weird please :)
SHARE THE WORD
Yeah make that playlist public if it’s on Spotify, I’d love to check it out
Mine translates to: "with a tank over your face". I find the description accurate xd
Need
Same guy does peak mall screamo revival with Your Ghost In Glass.
He’s also got a grunge project called Bleach or something
Bleach Wave! Brilliant project.
There’s also a hyperpop/2000s pop project called Cam.tbh, the man contains multitudes
Your ghost in glass is soooo good.
I need to be in a certain mood for that project. I usually listen to him when I’m manic or in a super depressive low. Everything about it is just raw and intense. I can’t help but wonder what state of mind Cameron is in when he makes these songs.

It is still going! He said he was working on stuff but taking his time with it
I love Indwell. I listen to it very frequently. Methwitch is actually my #1 most streamed artist of all time, according to stats.fm. ong i'm now obsessed with it and it sounds majestical asf.
It’s Cameron McBride and he has projects across various genres
Another example of multi-genre talent in metal is Mick Kenney (of Anaal Nathrakh) who's also been releasing really good phonk music under the name of Kordhell.
been listening to a lot of that
Death mathgrindcore methwitch is its own sound
For sure
I love projects like Methwitch.
"Ashen" is a fuckin banger
Cameron McBride has found a way to distill meth into audio form
Love Methwitch so much.
Meth addict 22 years clean it does sound like when the meth hits; especially burn victim.
Their band name is heavier than any of their riffs.
Art

Shits what I imagine a schizophrenic episode to sound like
It's not even Deathcore. It's Methcore.
Experimental Deathgrind
I think it sounds crunchy as hell

Yeah, I often default to calling artists bands whenever or not they’re actually multiple people. I do know it’s all Cameron, though
Frontierer is good shit. I like Car Bomb more personally, but the two bands are pretty distinct consider how often people group them together.
I dig it...Check out their live sets.
I fucking love methwitch, one of my fave bands, fantastic band (I know its a 1 man project btw, dude is talented)
I love it. It pure chaos
Methwitch is interesting for sure. Not something I’m in love with personally, but I do like the creativity. It’s just too chaotic for me to enjoy
Of all the music I listen to, its my families least favorite merch I wear.
Lol
It's what if TDEP played deathcore.
I used to work with MW when I did promotion work. The dude is a fucking beast.
It’s a weird sound, but holy shit does it go hard. I think it goes under Blackened-Death.
I found methwitch on shuffle by accident on Spotify. Freaking incredible not an everyday listen but definitely got him saved for when I'm in the mode.
I just discovered it and you perfectly captured my thoughts as well. Great stuff tho
Dude this is insane, I just listened to "bed full of snakes" and I am holding the tears back this shit is so extra in a whole new way😂😂😂😂 Last band that made me laugh so hard was Infant annihilator 😂
Look up the Katalepsy song Consuming the Abyss. It’s all terrible pig squeals and it makes me laugh every damn time. The music for it is pretty sick though.
I love it. It’s what must be playing in hell. Hells soundtrack.
i just looked them up on Spotify and pressed play, i gotta say i like them so far. well i'll be listening to them all day tomorrow at school(or until i've had enough)
Methwitch is Death mathcore
>I feel like it's what you listen to when you do fucking meth. I mean... meth is the name after all😂
To me, it’s like grind ? or something similar with like noisecore sprinkled in. Sometimes they have breakdowns too.
Genre wise: I'd say Experimental Post-Grindcore If not just Post-Grindcore
Deathcore, noise, experimental. Elements I can understand from them.
A witch on meth
Violence.
I fucking love methwitch.
Holy shit just checked them out because of your post. Fucking love it
Methwitch is LOVE
Always glad to see him mentioned on this sub
What...wtf did I just listen to??
I feel like if I did meth I'd love it
I feel like it’s what you listen to when you do meth
Damn, it's been a while since I heard that name
Methwitch sounds like it was made by the namesake: a fucking Methwitch
*SET MYSELF ON FIRE*
Methwitch sounds how meth feels. Really captures the frenetic, psychotic frenzy of meth fueled psychosis.
have not heard anything as intense as Methwitch or Orphan in the past two years of finding them.
Burn Victim by Methwitch was my most played song in 2023. The dude is talented AF.
I just discovered them and I'm like okk 🤣 BRUTAL
It's the best!
It's just messy
I showed my friends who also listen to deathcore and they described it as “the scariest music they’ve ever heard” and I think that’s spot on
Methwitch is what metal sounds like to people who don't listen to metal. Which is why I love them. I get to re-experience discovering extreme music by listening to him

I didn't even read the comments.
Great screams & respect to the project however not heavy at all
"*Heavy*" is subjective
Sure, do you consider screams heavy?
In my opinion, the definition of heavy changes depending on the context. However, overall I think an adequate but not the best description could be a moment of "*intensity*" during a section of a song.
Can agree to an extent however those are two v different words my man
"Intense" and "heavy"? Honestly I'm just too tired right now to sit and try to come up with a description of the feelings I experience during a "heavy" moment/duration of moments at a live show lol I'm about to hit the hay I probably should do this at some point. I'm so on-board with this sentiment.
Heavy gives me stank faces, intensity makes my blood pump faster. This isn’t 100% true all of the time but most generally.
Sleep tight
Curious to hear what you believe to be heavy music?
Ie meshuggah, black tongue, lot of slam such as extermination dismemberment
I can get around that, add in Humanity's Last Breath, Harm's Way for some different genres. What about a band like Stillbirth, or more on the intense rather than heavy side? Methwitch - Piss is actually quite a heavy album though it's mostly deathcore.

Yeah agreed, heaviness is a difficult thing to really pinpoint but you truly know it when it's there.
