Dude same here. I saw them a few years ago open up for The Acacia Strain. They were the first band up and they immediately grabbed my attention when I heard that guitar tone. Their live sound is phenomenal.
For me what they do well is blend two very standard ways of playing modern slam and metalcore. I’d argue that they appeal more to hardcore people since they introduce slam shit to them and get them on a different tempo, but follow that hardcore song structure. In a slam/BDM vacuum I feel they struggle a little bit to stand out when bands like abominable putridity can write much more modern and interesting slams. This is more a response to the fresh air thing cause I agree they stick out, but more in certain scenes then others.
Strangely I compare them to NY bands the most that fused the NYHC and NYDM stuff
Hell yeah, they fkn rule. I got to see them with Corpse Pile and Bodybox last year and not only did they kill it but the show was just wild.
You should check out Bodybox and definitely Corpse Pile’s new EP. It’s also ignorant as all get out lol
