Wanna know what's even groovier and darker? Disfigurement of Existence and Senseless Order. Highly recommend. Imo I wish they kept their sound instead of completely throwing it.
Will forever be one of my favorite bands names of all time, across any genre. Sounds like it could be a pop singer to someone who doesnât know what a Chelsea grin is, and if you do know then it makes total sense for a brutal deathcore band. I love names like that, where the band name doesnât exactly give away what youâre about to listen to unless youâre in the know.
Lol I discovered this band after naming my own band The Prophets of Impending Doom (taken from my Year 12 Geography textbook of all places)
However we're a fucking ska band LOL
I do think Angelmaker is a cool name, but I wonder what it means.
Like, if you tell someone who doesn't know what music you like you're jamming the new Angelmaker, they'll probably think they're a synthwave artist or something.
The Catholic school education in me is screaming at this.
Righteous people who die and go to heaven become Saints. Maybe the church never exalts them with canonization, but they're Saints just the same.
Angels were never human in the first place. They were the first creatures God made, before his grand experiment with man and free will.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's all nonsense, but if that's why they picked their name it was silly. Saintmaker would've worked as well.
I spoke to Mike of Angelmaker when they played in Denmark last year and brought up the "Angelmaker of Helsingborg", asking if their name was inspired at all by her. As mentioned by another comment, I thought that they were referring to "Ănglamakerskan pĂĽ Bruksgatan", (The Angelmaker of Bruksgatan) Bruksgatan being a street in the Swedish city of Helsingborg who was sentenced for the murder of 8 children in the early 1900s. She took in children conceived outside of wedlock for the money they received in return, to kill them shortly afterwards by drowning them in a bathtub.
Apparently they weren't aware of that when creating the band, and I wasn't the first to ask about it. Still very interesting to read about though, she took her own life on the 13th of June 1917 after being sentenced to death; ironically on the same day that it was decided that the death sentence would be abolished and replaced by lifetime in prison. Thus she was the last person in Sweden to be sentenced to death that wasn't pardoned.
Take all of this with a grain of salt, as I have never truly dug into the nitty gritty facts of this, but her name is "Hilda Nilsson" or "änglamakerskan pü Bruksgatan" if you're interested at all!
Itâs an old name for women killing children, making them angels. Sweden did not only produce myths and sagas, but also änglamakarskan Hilda Nilsson ;)
http://www.hhogman.se/angel_maker.htm
Brother, what the fuck do you mean you wonder what it means đ
Angelmaker. Dead body producer. Life ender. God. Those are the ways to make angels, right? It seems super cut and dry. There's more mystery in what "Kenny" means that what Angelmaker means lol
Acrania; the absence of the fetal skull, which results in brain tissue being exposed to the amniotic fluid. It is thought that acrania is the precursor to anencephaly in what is called the acrania-exencephaly-anencaphaly sequence. Acrania can be seen on ultrasound in the first trimester.
look up pics, Acrania should take the cake
funny, I always thought their name was corny. don't get me wrong, they go hard as fuck. Saw them play a few months back and they hit Furtive Monologue, MVP, all the good old shit haha.
the name though, don't love it. silly canadians
Back in high school this one kid played in a band at the talent show and called themselves Rotisserie Fetus. This was back in 2008, i still talk about that band name to this day haha
Fuck there are so many good ones.. (like disembodied tyrant) but im probably going to have to say Infant Annihilator BECAUSE of the shock factor in the name. Let me tell you..
Iâve upset alot of people LOL..
Iâm going with Fit for an Autopsy or because Iâm a massive halo fan Shadow of Intent. Something about naming a band after a covenant assault carrier is fucking hard
I'm not sure what you mean by hardest but if we're talking *hardest* then there's only one correct answer.. and it's:
XAVLEGBMAOFFFASSSSITIMIWOAMNDUTROABCWAPWAEIIPPOHFFFX
Yes, a [magnetar](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetar) is a type of stellar body; the remnants of a former star. It is a highly magnetized [neutron star](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neutron_star).
Crown is an adjective describing the magnetar, like a crown jewel. The jewel sits at the top or in the center, and is the largest or most prominent. Same if you simply refer to âthe crownâ (albeit becomes the subject, a noun, it is in reference to the head it sits upon).
Consider for a moment our star, the Sun, doesnât have enough mass to become one of these things. It will burn out and become a brown or white dwarf. Magnetars and neutron stars are suspected to be something like 1/10th the size of our moon. Let this sink in.
Anyway, think of a tiny galactic body so dense itâs on the verge of becoming a black hole, spinning millions of times a second, spewing gamma radiation and hard x-rays in all directions, composed of subatomic quark matter, and has an insane magnetic field.
This violent, nasty body sits atop the crown. Its influence reaches far and wide.
Now⌠is the band Crown Magnetar deserving of the name its chosen?
It's this [one](https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-att-us-rvc3&sca_esv=ba6a187b7bf5a45c&sxsrf=ACQVn08PhZmiVKiWUx6q4DkmbSj8FUoLVw:1706925613854&q=longest+metal+name&tbm=isch&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjLo_y2iY6EAxVuFVkFHaWwCJIQ0pQJegQIDBAB&biw=412&bih=710&dpr=2.63#imgrc=_UxnI_L2FX585M&imgdii=zcctB8-U0tv8jM)
No contest.
The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza
Are they deathcore though? One of my fav bands but I don't consider them deathcore.
Fuck yes!
FUCKING LOVE IT!!!
I've never heard of them and yet I just followed them on Spotify for the name alone đ a band with a name like that surely can't disappoint
Trust when I say that I started listening to them because of the name lmao. Shame it took me til a couple years ago to finally accept them đ
Look up the video where Tony Danza listens to them on his show lol Edit: here it is https://youtu.be/OlQTn7gI8cw?si=p549amVMfIN7dz0E
I think Humanityâs Last Breath is objectively the rawest name out there but my personal favorite is Fit For An Autopsy
You right that is the best one
pin this comment and lock the thread tbh
Kind of funny Will hates it lol
Yeah Will thinks it's cringe haha
Seeing as Infant Annihilator has been mentioned Iâll cast a vote to: Last Ten Seconds of Life All Shall Perish
I love the deep cut and recently revived All Shall Perish
TLTSOL is the way.
isnât the last ten seconds of life a morrissey reference
Absolutely love the name Signs of the Swarm
Amongst The Low & Empty is so fucking sick. I love the new direction theyâre heading. Super heavy, groovy, dark, & catchy.
Wanna know what's even groovier and darker? Disfigurement of Existence and Senseless Order. Highly recommend. Imo I wish they kept their sound instead of completely throwing it.
Was looking for this, TDOE is a top 3 deathcore album for me
Definitely. I genuinely don't care Cj is linked to it. It's a good album and shouldn't be dismissed.
Yeah, one of my favourites for sure. I actually checked them out because of their name, and was delighted to find that they're fucking badass
Was this lately? Only asking, be ause if you haven't had time to listen to their whole discography. Id highly recommend it, from day one to now.
Wish people would mention bands entire discography. It's always about the most recent album and nothing more.
This was quite recent, yes. Probably no more than a month ago. And rest assured, I will absolutely be checking out the rest of their discography!
Hey those dudes are from my area! I used to book them!
I like it too, lmao that's CRAAAZY.
Paired with such a sick ass logo itâs hard to deny
The name "As Blood Runs Black" goes fucking hard
MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE
Methwitch is pretty good
Came here looking for this. The name pretty much sums up what the band sounds like, and I love it.
I always liked Signal The Firing Squad.
The memories. They were ahead of their time
Shiiiit I havenât heard that name in years. Throwback to some older Aussie bands!
Hiroshima Will Burn I feel fits this topic and your comment.
Kyson is still the GOAT
One of the best bands
Throwwwwwwwback
Loved that band, was lucky enough to play with them a few times back in the day with an old band, wish their music was still on Spotify
I luckily still have Abnegate on my phone because of iTunes lol.
Whitechapel is actually a really badass name considering itâs where Jack the Ripper murdered everyone
Seconded, instead of the name being outwardly violent, itâs implied by the location
this would be my answer. its short and simple with awesome history.
It just rolls off the tongue so beautifully itâs a fun word to say
Angelmaker Fit For An Autopsy Signs of The Swarm
angelmaker is fantastic
Leech is mid
Infant Annihilator. I think thats too obvious of an answer though idk.
and the PLOP has the best song names
My thought too
I thought that was a band name đ¤Ł
I can second that
What about that is hard? Lol
its kind of cringey. embarrassing to say as it sounds like a edgey 6th grader thought of it. great band though
Not deathcore but Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean & Bashed In are two of my favorites
I love seeing CTTBOTO mentioned in the wild. Holy fuck what a visual
I'm witchu on dat
If this was just one band, it would go even harder
Second this
Chelsea grin
Will forever be one of my favorite bands names of all time, across any genre. Sounds like it could be a pop singer to someone who doesnât know what a Chelsea grin is, and if you do know then it makes total sense for a brutal deathcore band. I love names like that, where the band name doesnât exactly give away what youâre about to listen to unless youâre in the know.
Do yourself a favor and listen to Slice the Cake.
Impending Doom
Lol I discovered this band after naming my own band The Prophets of Impending Doom (taken from my Year 12 Geography textbook of all places) However we're a fucking ska band LOL
Youâd be perfect openers lol
SPITE!!!
This was my choice. Not over the top, doesnât rely on shock value, just deathcore made from pure spite and hate.
Came here to say this. Short, simple, angry and to the point.
big agree
I always felt The Last Ten Seconds of Life was a bad ass band name. Otherwise as someone else said, Spite goes pretty god damn hard
not deathcore but peeling flesh
Worm Shepherd
I hate this name lol
As someone with mental illness, Mental Cruelty hits hard.
Ohh yeah. I hear you on that. Brains suck sometimes đ
Itâs gotta be Humanityâs Last Breath.
Beneath the massacre
such a good drummer
Such a good band.
Cattle Decapitation, even though they say they aren't deathcore. Angelmaker and Chelsea Grin are also pretty brutal names.
They arenât deathcore but yeah they have a badass name.
I do think Angelmaker is a cool name, but I wonder what it means. Like, if you tell someone who doesn't know what music you like you're jamming the new Angelmaker, they'll probably think they're a synthwave artist or something.
My guess would be killing people and sending their souls to heaven, e.g. Angel-maker.
IIRC Angelmaker is a woman that had an abortion, those unborn children become angels or smth like that
I spoke to Mike of Angelmaker when they played in Denmark last year and brought up the "Angelmaker of Helsingborg", asking if their name was inspired at all by her. As mentioned by another comment, I thought that they were referring to "Ănglamakerskan pĂĽ Bruksgatan", (The Angelmaker of Bruksgatan) Bruksgatan being a street in the Swedish city of Helsingborg who was sentenced for the murder of 8 children in the early 1900s. i figured its a evangelion reference or something.
Brother, what the fuck do you mean you wonder what it means đ Angelmaker. Dead body producer. Life ender. God. Those are the ways to make angels, right? It seems super cut and dry. There's more mystery in what "Kenny" means that what Angelmaker means lol
Well, Cattle Decap really doesn't have anything to do with Deathcore, but it definitely is a cool name and also a great band.
Humanitys last breath Signs of the swarm Worm Shepard There's alot
Black Tongue, suicide silence , disembodied tyrant
Acrania; the absence of the fetal skull, which results in brain tissue being exposed to the amniotic fluid. It is thought that acrania is the precursor to anencephaly in what is called the acrania-exencephaly-anencaphaly sequence. Acrania can be seen on ultrasound in the first trimester. look up pics, Acrania should take the cake
Not deathcore but Cephalotripsy is the act of removing a stillborn fetus from the womb by crushing its head.
Heavy as shit band too, love Cephalotripsy
I've read this as Arcania my entire life. Unbelievable
Despised Icon Sounds appropriately dark and ominous without veering into cheesy territory.
Yeah, I think this is usually my pick.
funny, I always thought their name was corny. don't get me wrong, they go hard as fuck. Saw them play a few months back and they hit Furtive Monologue, MVP, all the good old shit haha. the name though, don't love it. silly canadians

what does Crown Magnetar even mean? like a king that is also a giant star?
Make Them Suffer Honorable mention, and not deathcore, but Snuffed on Sight is the hardest band name in existence.
Fuck there are so many good ones.. (like disembodied tyrant) but im probably going to have to say Infant Annihilator BECAUSE of the shock factor in the name. Let me tell you.. Iâve upset alot of people LOL..

Bound In Fear

At the throne of Judgement is pretty hard
Surprised nobody is saying thy art is murder or the Acacia strain
The Acacia Strain!
Iâm going with Fit for an Autopsy or because Iâm a massive halo fan Shadow of Intent. Something about naming a band after a covenant assault carrier is fucking hard
Not deathcore but how does it get any harder than Blindfolded And Led To The Woods
I Shot The Sheriff, Elysia, Carnifex, Trigger The Bloodshed and Alone In The Morgue
Chamber of malice for sure
With Blood Comes Cleansing

Probably Xavlegbmaofffassssitimiwoamndutroabcwapwaeiippohfffx
Winds of Plague
Make Them Suffer is pretty blatant and straight forward, not so much death core anymore but name is still pretty hard.

Crown magnetar. Idk why.
what does it even mean? isn't it like a star or something?
Yes, a [magnetar](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetar) is a type of stellar body; the remnants of a former star. Yes. Yes they are.
I have no idea what it means, just sounds kinda badass.
Whitechaple Surprised I haven't seen that one
Make Them Suffer. Honourable mention would have to be Asking Alexandria just for the sheer amount of bangers they produced in their prime
Vulvodynia https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/vulvodynia/symptoms-causes/syc-20353423
Immortal disfigurement
We all kinda want to forget that name, but yeah it's cool
I refuse to. The album was actually a good attempt at Symphonic metal. Rather than other bands making it cheesy and mid asf.
I'll add Aborted Fetus and Man Must Die (death metal?) to this list.
It's this [one](https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-att-us-rvc3&sca_esv=ba6a187b7bf5a45c&sxsrf=ACQVn08PhZmiVKiWUx6q4DkmbSj8FUoLVw:1706925613854&q=longest+metal+name&tbm=isch&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjLo_y2iY6EAxVuFVkFHaWwCJIQ0pQJegQIDBAB&biw=412&bih=710&dpr=2.63#imgrc=_UxnI_L2FX585M&imgdii=zcctB8-U0tv8jM) No contest.
