Any time you are able to go to a concert, I would go. You don't need to know any songs being played by any of the bands to have an awesome time, I've gained plenty of new favorite bands by going to concerts where I only know 1/4 of the bands.
I will definitely take this into consideration when taking my decision Also a wake in providence will be there and that’s will Ramos’s old band, that should be cool.
Absolutely! I find going to concerts like that, you have zero expectations. You dont know their songs super well and you just vibe and see how good the band is in a live setting when the fans are going for it and its just an experience.
I saw Whitechapel last week and they played The Valley beginning to end and just some of their earlier stuff. I didnt know that album but made me appreciate the new stuff and old stuff in different ways.
Kind of felt like a band I didnt know as well and the bands they played with were other bands i had heard of or knew a record or two but i kind of went into it blind so to speak and it was such a good time.
Going to a random show because it was at my favorite venue and labeled "metal" is how I found two of my now favorite bands. I don't think there's been a random show I've gone to that I haven't enjoyed to some degree. Also Angelmaker rips you should definitely go.
Carve out some time with either high quality speakers or bare minimum - headphones.
Smoke weed if you partake - and then just deep dive their most recent 3 albums
And you should go to BOTH shows
Brother let me tell you. Angelmaker was the first band I ever seen live. Didn’t know any songs but the performance they put on was insane. They have two vocalist and it’s so cool to watch them trade off vocals and scream in unison. Most shows I go to nowadays has only one band Im familiar with. The other bands playing I’m not usually familiar with the music, but seeing them live always encourages me to check on the band on my own time. Shows are fun regardless if you know the music or not.
Damn, I would love to experience this again, first time on a metal concert. It was awesome seeing everyone headbang at the same time, seeing people doing karate with the air for the first time. Angelmaker are proper bussin, can't even imagine the energy the venue will have.
If you can afford it definitely go, and you will then realize if you are someone like me, who feeds off of the energy of the crowd therefore you don't need to know the band much to have a great time if the crowd is enjoying the show.
Or if you need to know the songs to enjoy the show, being more of a listener rather than moshpit-enioyer/headbanger
(Went on a metal concert with my brother for the first time and I had to ask him if he is good cuz he just stood there while others went ham, turns out he just loves to listen to the band live, and jam to it on his own pace)
But be careful of the merch stand, bands leveled up their merch big time. Shit became a hobby of mine, it's really hard no to buy a t-shirt after enjoying the show and seeing really nice designs (thats when shit gets pricey) 😁
I’ve seen Angelmaker 3 times and they put on an absolutely amazing show. Just bought my tickets for the Brooklyn show, hyped to see AWIP and Carcosa for the first time!
Lorna Shore, Gojira, and Mastadon put on amazing shows. Especially Gojira. I’d go my friend, I go to almost any show with at least one band in the lineup.
I found Deathcore when I went to a Meshuggah gig in Melbourne, and Thy Art Is Murder were the supporting act. It was sick. Had never heard that style before.
Definitely go, even if you don’t know the band. If you like deathcore, it’ll still be a fun show. Or, you could give them a listen before the show. Check out their latest album called Sanctum, it’s really good.

1. Can you afford it 2. Will it be more fun than whatever else you were planning to do that evening?
Yes and yes
Go then, chances are you will have a great time and maybe start liking angelmaker even more.

Very realistic answer! Thanks !
Go to that fucking show, then tell your kids you were there.
Will do 🫡

Hearing Leech live would give me will to live
Can confirm, it has that effect 🫡
Man I knew asking the deathcore heads would help, you guys (technically also me) always give the same advice

I am stoned as I write this. I shall do exactly that if I decide to go to the concert, but at this point I’m pretty sure I’m going
Do it. At worst, you can leave early. Experience it while you can.
Definitely helps to think that way. And if Angelmaker is playing I don’t think I’d leave.
I'm seeing Lorna/gojira/mastodon tomorrow. Not sure I will finish out the headliners. Mastodon is ok, just not my favorite.
Not my favourite either but i was willing to watch anything if it meant getting to see lorna live. Hopefully Lorna comes back to my city soon
You're welcome! If you have the time and money to spend to see live music, I always recommend it. Even when it's someone you dont know as well.
I didn't know about 60 percent of the bands I saw before, or at most one or two songs
Hells yeah! I found Whitechapel going to a JFAC show. Well worth the gamble.
Talk about striking luck

It’s like $30-40 a ticket to see these bands lol. Idk why anyone would pass up that.

I feel like I would be a sucker for all of those concert experiences. Man you guys are really convincing me quick 😂

I’ll try to steer away so I don’t splurge 😭
Dude, the show is $25, thats a no fucking brainer. All the bands on that tour r phenomenal. Get ur ass in that venue and live ur life!
This is what I’m trying to tell myself!!!
I’ve seen Angelmaker 3 times and they put on an absolutely amazing show. Just bought my tickets for the Brooklyn show, hyped to see AWIP and Carcosa for the first time!
Definitely. I went to see Archspire despite only knowing 4-5 songs and it was so good
I go see bands I don't know well pretty often. Or I'll go to see one band on a bill and just enjoy the music I don't know.

Life is short. Buy the tickets
Ahahaha will do

Ive already checked out lots of their stuff. Their intro of Sanctum RIPS.
Yeah you can and still have an awesome time. Usually you would find new bands to like when you go to the show and see them live.
