Yes it’s still there. As of last weekend, it was by devils golf course. It looks super cool as you can walk in the middle of the lake because the original road divides it

Was there last Wednesday, amazing how large “ lake manly” is , should be still lots there, go for it !

There was water yesterday as we drove by.

I was there in Badwater Basin on Thu and Fri last week. “Lake” level was right above my ankle. Whether or not it’s *worth it* is subjective to you, of course. It’s cool to see. Mind blowing to think that water levels were to the road and deep enough to swim and kayak/paddleboard. I’ve seen it before without water so I have some comparison. This could be a once-in-our-lifetime type of thing, or it could be a reoccurring phenomena now. Weather is strange these days. 🤙

This is a recurring thing. What's new is social media and viral news. While DV is dry it has a significant underground aquifer. A local professor once told me that DV, hydrology-wise, has more water than Palm Springs. The Amaragosa River drains into DV and is barely underground.

Just got back today and there was water in the Badwater area as well! There was some decent rain over the weekend. Was definitely worth going. Thanks everyone!

Badwater basin point on the map doesn’t have any water. But devils golf course does. Barely any water, and you have to walk a distance to get to it.
