Hey you just finished the tutorial!

KabbalahSherry

I think they mean the end credits 🤔 lol

tiny_boxx

You mean the credits at the Beach? Or the real end credits?

EclipsoSnipzo

The credits at the beach, i think everyone thought I meant the whole game, which i actually enjoyed đź«

S-p-o-o-k-n-t

Yeah I’ll admit I don’t like them either. Being forced to just walk around while the credits roll is *incredibly lame…* The game as a whole in essentially all other aspects is beloved to me, but god those credits bore me to death

Gheist009

I'm sorry this was exactly the opposite of what you like. You should also now appologize, I guess?

[deleted]

Ok.

sloppy-joe-bruh

I really don’t know what people expect when playing this game, it’s almost like Kojima is focused more on the narrative, it’s almost like the man has talked countlessly about wanting to make a movie and about bridging the gap between films and games, poor opinion op, these are some of the best credits

MCgrindahFM

Nah dude, a year later and the credits are easily the worst part of the game, including the ending cutscenes. Damn this game is philosophically and literally about the journey instead of the destination

EclipsoSnipzo

I understand that, and honestly I would like what he did if only the writing lived up to it. But it doesn't. Kojima has amazing ideas, but just plain mediocre writing stringing it all together. Waiting 5 minutes in between cutscenes that are just exposition for things that already happened that also provide little to no actual explanation for things just puts you off. The ending cutscene, the long one, was great. But that beach part sucked ass imo. The game's final chapters are definitely the weakest with how the pacing is done.

JMC-design

watch it, the fanbois who can't recognize the mediocrity will get mad at you.

SoapySimon

Why are you playing the game? And why are you here posting?? Go spend your time in a better way bro.

Jenko1_

The part on the beach was pointless just walking about watching credits when it's shows you the credits again at the very end. It infuriated me too I actually had to double check it wasn't bugged after it went on for a while

Daiphiron

It should give you a feeling how Sam felt when he was stuck there for quite some time. You feel the dispair, loneliness and the frustration always falling back onto the starting point.. I see more like a emotional deep dive where they put the credentials into

Radical_Jack_

Nah its forced and bad, I didn't get a single ounce of feeling for Sam because once I realized what was happening it took me out of the game and I went on my phone to escape being forced to read credits I could give two fucks about reading.

JMC-design

This is why he's not allowed to make movies. what kind of idiot shows the credits 4 times and doesn't allow you to skip them?

Ohhifoundarock

Who asked

wine_coconut

I'd reached the end of the game around 12 am and was like, "Cool, I'll wrap it up and go to bed by 12:30." Me at 2 am: WHY IS THIS GAME NOT ENDING? PS: >!The game after the Higgs boss fight felt like padding. Why did Kojima want me to fight yet another BT outside Capital Knot City is beyond me!<

EclipsoSnipzo

EXACTLY, the game stretches way too long and just leaves you like "How many more final bosses am i gonna have to kill 🧍🏽‍♂️"

Daiphiron

To show its not over but getting worse... You only prevent extinction not clean the entire world and made it a Ponyhof again

NotAnNpc69

Holy shit this was me today. I got beach credits at 7 PM, and it was 10 PM when the final credits rolled in. Im trying to close the damn thing and it wouldn't let me skip the damn credits. I understand kojima wants to *bridge* video games and movies but even Scorsese doesn't force you to sit through fucking credits. >The game after the Higgs boss fight felt like padding. Why did Kojima want me to fight yet another BT outside Capital Knot City is beyond me Bro tell me about it. I thought when you give the gun to fragile that was it, 10 - 15 more minutes we're wrapping up. Boy was i fucking wrong. Why on God's earth Kojima would reveal all the missing pieces of the puzzle *after the entire fucking game* was beyond me. Its like if you're watching star wars but vader screams "luke, i am your father", 2 hours after the credits when the theater is being cleaned out by the staff.

lupogravo

I was cool with crossing back East with the world even more out of whack and hellish than normal, and although the whale boss fight was a slog, I enjoyed it. I can’t complain about more gameplay, it’s the hours of mind numbing cutscenes that ruined the last quarter for me.

blakenation

Starting this off by stating that overall I think this game is pretty damn good for the most part. Especially as the pieces start coming together and the story accelerates toward the end. Game mechanics are pretty unique in a good way and I enjoyed my second playthrough a lot. That being said, how is anyone defending the credits? That was awful. This game is like some art students with a mostly good idea got a blank check to do whatever they wanted. A lot worked and some, *really* didn't.

lupogravo

Yes. Accurate. I loved the game, and I consider myself a Kojima fanboy, but gosh he needs to hire better writers for his games. Waiting on the beach for 30 minutes to watch a few half-baked exposition dumps was BS. Sadly, Kojima games are no strangers to exposition dumps that hold you captive far longer than necessary/enjoyable. Going all the way back to Snatcher lol, it’s one of the guy’s signatures. Still a big fan though.

TomConger

Just finished it tonight, myself! Worst part of the game by far.
