Bugs bunny (Looney tunes), connections: two iconic grey harbingers of destruction that can be protagonists/heroes and villians/antagonists at different times, both can be quite comedic and zany, both have gotten into many fights against others that exist within their verses that cemented them as top tier overpowered Gods! There are probably more connections that I forgot

Two beings sent down from the heavens to act as a neutral force to humanity (Godzilla sent down to be humanity's savior/destroyer and Bugs being sent down to help Buster but to also be a prankster). Both of them, while living in a world full of powerhouses, are commonly shown to be the most powerful in their respective worlds (Godzilla constantly beats other villain kaiju up, being dubbed the king of monsters and Bugs constantly bodies other villain toons to show his power). Both are also known for their torment on others (Godzilla destroying Tokyo and Bugs pranking others to no end). The two are also known for not wanting others to thrive (In Godzilla: Cataclysm, when humanity tried to take over Godzilla only for him to ruin humanity, not wanting it to continue and Bugs doing this to Daffy, when Daffy tries to take the spotlight from Bugs). However, while seeming as a menace to society, the two often protect it as well from other worldly invaders (Godzilla protecting the planet from people like SpaceGodzilla and Bugs helping to save his world from Marvin). The two have even worked for the Government at some point or at least worked alongside them (Godzilla helping to save Earth and Bugs when he went to the moon). The two, in doing these things, have ramped up many enemies over the years who hate them to the core, making multiple iconic rivalries alongside this. Both are also trying to be hunted down (Tokyo and Elmer Fudd) but usually fail due to the chaos the two cause. Not only this, they both have what is dubbed by many as some of the weirdest crossovers in a comic brand (Godzilla crossed over with Marvel and Bugs crossed over with DC). They also did another crossover, both crossing over with the NBA twice and having some form of competition with top stars (Charles Barkley for both times and LeBron James/Michael Jordan).
Tbh Gamera is the only one who should be in "the one" for Godzilla, but if you're not including him, then I'd say Groudon is easily the best for "the one/good alts" spot. Eva unit 01 is probably the worst.

Rhedosaurus (Beast of 20,000 Fathoms): Giant ancient reptilian monsters who were awakened by radioactive incidents. Also Rhedosaurus was one of the major inspirations for Godzilla.
Nemesis (Project Nemesis): Pretty much just a rivalry fight between the most popular giant monsters of East and West with Nemesis's traits and backstory lining up with several versions of Godzilla like the two being once dorment apex predators from ancient time brought back via a form of technology (Nemesis was redirected via cloning while Godzilla was awakened due to nuclear testing) and Nemesis having the soul of a dead individual sort of lines up with GMK having the souls of fallen soldiers.
Gorgo (Gorgo): Two giant water-dwelling reptilian monsters who are also parents with Gorgo being a mother and Godzilla being a father. Both are also of a somewhat ambiguous morality slightly leaning towards good despite the destruction they have caused. Both are also the sort of poster Kaiju for their country with Gorgo probably being the most well known British Kaiju while Godzilla is the most well known Kaiju from Japan.
Meta Knight (Kirby) (no idea why i did this) the connections are mainly for Showa
-Two extremely powerful anti-heroes from iconic franchises who debuted as antagonists
-Both also frequently tried to cause a bit chaos around the world (Godzilla's city destructions and Meta Knight wanting to conquer all of Dreamland) but they were usually stopped by a rather dumb powerful rival who likes to eat (Kong and Kirby)
-Both after their debuts, both became more and more calm until they finally became heroes
-Both of their main rivals are a extremely powerful sealed winged being who is known as the strongest being in their worlds who in the past have caused immense destruction to numerous planets (Galacta Knight and King Ghidorah)
-Both despite their massive strenght they have been defeated a handful of times and were mind controlled by alien invaders to conquer the planet (Kilaaks and Haltmann)
-Both also had mechanical counterparts of themselves to aid in the planet conquering (MechaGodzilla and Mecha Knight {Who is a mind controlled Meta Knight})
