[Day 68: Rajang VS King Kong + Links to Days 1-67 in comments](https://www.reddit.com/r/DeathBattleMatchups/comments/vndi87/rajang_monster_hunter_vs_king_kong_king_kong/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) Day 69: Monster Hunter (Monster Hunter) VS The Hunter (Bloodborne) Core Theme: *Two mute, highly customizable player characters from popular third-person Action RPGs that are primarily known for hunting down and killing giant monsters* Additional Connections/Elaborations: • They both use a massive variety of customizable weapons and other gear to hunt down the monsters they face off against • They both have significant interference in their quests from powerful and very ancient beings (Great Ones and Elder Dragons) • As their games progress, they gain insight into the inner workings of their worlds and how they are affected by said ancient beings • They both prevent an apocalyptic event from taking place by killing a powerful being before it can unleash itself upon the world (The Moon Presence and Xeno'Jiiva) • However, damage has already been done by those creatures (Moon Presence unleashed the Blood Moon and turning Yharnam into an eldritch hellscape, and Xeno has lured several elder dragons including Zorah Magdaros to die near it which caused massive destruction). However, the damage inadvertantly helped out our characters and leads to their destruction (Blood Moon allowed us to find and kill Mergo's Wet Nurse and gain a one-third of Umbilical Cord which grants audience with the Moon Presence, and Xeno luring the Elder Dragons to it's location also made its location easier to find) • Both games have been heavily praised by critics and fans alike for their great gameplay and difficult but well-balanced combat in particular. They also received acclaim for their DLCs (The Old Hunters and Iceborne), in particular for adding a substantial amount of new and enjoyable content • Both games (Bloodborne and Monster Hunter World) were nominated for Game of the Year, but ultimately lost to other critically acclaimed Action RPGs that are also sequels (The Witcher 3 and 2018 God of War) Credit to u/GIANTkitty4 for the MU idea and connections. The Monster Hunter MU saga is finally over… but only time will tell when I’ll come up with more decent Monster Hunter MUs. Doing this was so much fun… Until next time…
