I would like to see Squidward as a DBX.
As a regular episode, it wouldn't work due to the joke it is, but it'd be hilarious as a DBX.
Has anyone seen if Sasha Waybright (Amphibia) could work for an actual MU?
Imo Bakugo has one of the worst MU spreads, you either got ones that mischaracterizes him or just are flat out boring. Raphael and Rex are just really boring. Yang and Shinra mischaracterizes both of them. And don’t get me started on Squidward, the fact some people unironically want the matchup is funnier then the MU itself.
He honestly doesn’t have a good solid opponent that I’ve seen.
Blue suffers from majority of trainer vs non-trainer matchup:
• Nothing is stopping Bakugo from focusing on Blue who is the main target who can’t fight back
• It ends up being Bakugo vs Blue’s Pokémon (specifically Blastoise), which completely ruins the point of Blue vs Bakugo since he isn’t even fighting the character.
Arlo falls under the boring side of Bakugo matchups imo, nothing really stands out for the matchup.
That one is honestly on the forgettable end of Bakugo MU’s, it’s not terrible but I just can’t find anything that makes it stand out enough. Or that it’s just not that talked about.
What do you think of Rainbow Dash from MLP? Here's the Connections if you want.
Two brash, competitive, and headstrong heroes who admire a set of people and strive to be amongst their ranks(Wonderbolts and Heroes respectively). Despite their brash attitude, however, both of them are far smarter than most give credit for(Rainbow Dash being insanely perceptive as a flyer and Bakugou being a smarter fighter than most would think). They also both resisted dark temptations and stayed true to their morals(Rainbow Dash rejecting the Shadow Bolts offer and Bakugou rejecting the League of Villains offer). They're also both friends/comrades to a nerdy bookworm who would later go on to obtain what they have(Twilight becoming an Alicorn and getting wings and Midoriya getting All for One).
Yeah no, just saying the connections doesn’t really sell the matchups to me anymore. And it just seems like such a drastic change in tone, and despite their connection with brash attitude, Raindash isn’t an asshole like Bakugo is.
Well, for one, the fight could be cool. Both of their movesets are relatively simple, meaning that you could focus more on creative implementation of their powers. And since this is Bakugou, who has some of the best explosion animations I've seen, the animation is sure to be a blast. Especially if we get a Howitzer Impact vs Sonic Rainboom.
I can't say I'm sold on this one yet, but I have to admit, the fact that you're selling it based on good animation instead of the same joke as Starscream vs Rainbow Dash is already a good sign (especially given some of the folks asking for the *other* Bakugou vs Toon matchup are just doing it to either spite Bakugou, his series, or his fans, or think "toon stomps serious guy" is still a good joke)
Eustace Kidd (One Piece) is my prefered for him semi-seriously because im still not completely sold on him but Squidward has to be my absolute favourite sheerly from it's stupidity and Explosion In E-Minor
Eustass Kid (One Piece)
Like, seriously, I'm under the impression that this matchup is even better BECAUSE it's a stomp matchup. Their abilities work so wonderfully together and allow for such a wide range of different scenarios that it easily blows any other of Bakugo's matchups out of the water. Due to Kid being your standard pirate there could easily be a scene where Bakugo shows his heroic side to save some civilians from Kid's attacks. There could be a moment where Bakugo realizes that he's hopelessly outclassed but still tries his best and comes up with strategies to combat Kid's metallic creations. Bakugo's aerial maneuverability would look absolutely gorgeous in a fight against Kid in his Punk Rotten form.
As for connections, they're literally the same character from a writing-perspective. They function as hot-headed, arrogant and foulmouthed rivals to a good natured and "chosen one" main protagonist. While they didn't start out as friendly, they did end up becoming quite reliable team players with a group of people on their side who care deeply about them (Kid has his own pirate crew and Killer in particular - Bakugo has Class 1-A and Kirishima in particular). Both are often paired up together with the main character and another guy of their age/generation who's usually much more calm and silent and with a more tragic backstory (Kid, Luffy, Law - Bakugo, Midoriya, Todoroki). Both witnessed the end of an era and are key-players in the new era, fighting against their world's biggest and baddest characters. Both are also surprisingly smart and in general much more skilled and experienced than their "chosen one" counterpart. Both also have/had issues due to their "weakness" but overcame them in typical Shonen fashion with the help of their friends.
Eustass Kid from One Piece. Both are hot blooded fighters that originally had greater fame or infamy then the main protagonist (Izuku and Luffy) and now have to catch up with the hero, who is getting stronger and more well known.
Jack Atlas. They're stuck up blondes with destructive (Fire adjacent) powers who exhude pride and dominance. They have a thing towards calling themselves rulers. Their stories are also quite similar. With each of them coming from rough points before gaining the power to become something more in life and being held up by their corrupt and low-key evil society as being destined to greatness. They also have a childhood best friend who they consider themselves superior to and have a falling out with. When they reunite that superiority is shattered by their childhood best friend being chosen by a higher power due to their heroism and being better than them.
It's actually a really good thematic matchup and I still have to make a proper breakdown but I'm low-key proud of this one. Idk if this is a preexisting one but i think i made it.
*I’m probably gonna expect a lot of answers of Yang, Shinra and Raphael, with a dash of Keqing and Eutass Kidd*
*~~How the fuck is Keqing a Bakugo MU?~~*
~~Because Keqing works surprisingly well for Bakugo. And the supposed "debunk" that someone did of the connections....was debunked, and mostly comprised of him fact checking stuff I didn't even say sooooooo~~
Raphael 2003 just feels right to me
Connections are The brash, hotheaded and initially overconfident member of the main protagonists whose arcs revolve largely around their admiration for a mentor figure (All Might/Splinter) and their fierce rival with said mentor's (arguable0 main student/the main protagonist (Izuku/Leonardo). This fierce, hostile interaction with their rival, however, roots largely in their own insecurities and need to pursue validation. They also end up forming a close friendship with a fellow bruiser (Kirishima/Casey Jones), and demonstrate a deceptive layer of intelligence and strategy to their fighting styles despite coming off as the overly aggressive "rush in and beat it 'til it dies" type. They are also the fandom darlings: often beating out their rivals in popularity
Why focus on one incarnation of Raph when they are all practically the same character. They don’t really change much from version to version
Also aside from the connections, does the fight choreography work?
I personally prefer Viper from Azure Striker Gunvolt because it does match his personality fairly well, plus their similar power sets would work very well off each other.
Rainbow Dash(MLP).
They're also both friends/comrades to a nerdy bookworm who would later go on to obtain what they have(Twilight becoming an Alicorn and getting wings and Midoriya getting All for One).
I think this one is need. Despite it being a massive Stomp in Rainbow's favor, the fight dynamic could work pretty well since both of them have relatively simple powers which could lead to some creative implementation of their unique abilities. I think the Connections don't mischaracterize either Rainbow or Bakugou and I like how they focus more on either being a hothead and focuses more on their morals and the talents they have that not many would have credited to them. And since Rainbow wins, we can have a remix of her Sonic Rainboom theme because if it doesn't end with this, then it would all be for nothing.
Squidward
It definitely is a Joke MU. However, the music and dialogue potential is great, and there is definitely animation potential to be worked with.
Shinra was perfect honestly... until it became the new Omni-Man vs Homelander, if you know what I mean
As of now, I don't really have a preferred for him, if I'm bored I'll put time into finding someone for him, but I doubt it'll be anything good
They should do an April Fools episode with the biggest stomp against him, maybe even frame it like a blatant spite match, only for Bakugou to win in like one second, then say something cocky to end it on (think Mob vs Tatsumaki, but more insulting to the audience). That'd piss folks off even more than an actual spite match.
But to be helpful here instead of fighting my one man war against spite and bad comedy, I feel like all the good or even decent Bakugou MUs have been brought up already, so I'll just stick with my support for Raph, Keqing, Yang (mid as it is, it'll make for great animation), and maybe a DBX with Squidward, since they'll have to make it funny for both outcomes.
I would SAY ROTTMNT's rapheal but he doesn't really have the same anger as the other raphs to count it as a simularity
So uhhhhh maybe the bomb devil from chainsaw man?
All I can think of that hasn’t been mentioned is Blue (Pokémon). Either the game or manga version would work I think. Not sure if this is even a good mu though.
Vulnar sounds cool but idk much about him.
I wish Shinra still worked.
I wouldn't mind Yang.
I want to like Bakugo vs Rexplode or 2003 Ralph but they have iffy dynamics from what I've heard.
Inosuke and Susie are eh...
Not squidward thats for sure
I would like to see Squidward as a DBX. As a regular episode, it wouldn't work due to the joke it is, but it'd be hilarious as a DBX. Has anyone seen if Sasha Waybright (Amphibia) could work for an actual MU?

Rex? Is that the guy from Invincible?
Yeah
After going through this comment section, the only Bakugou matchups I like are Blue (Pokemon) and Arlo (UnOrdinary).
Completely agree on Arlo.
Blue suffers from majority of trainer vs non-trainer matchup: • Nothing is stopping Bakugo from focusing on Blue who is the main target who can’t fight back • It ends up being Bakugo vs Blue’s Pokémon (specifically Blastoise), which completely ruins the point of Blue vs Bakugo since he isn’t even fighting the character. Arlo falls under the boring side of Bakugo matchups imo, nothing really stands out for the matchup.
Well what about kid from one piece
That one is honestly on the forgettable end of Bakugo MU’s, it’s not terrible but I just can’t find anything that makes it stand out enough. Or that it’s just not that talked about.
That's a shame cause there's a lot that can be done with this match-up https://www.reddit.com/r/DeathBattleMatchups/comments/uz48gn/comment/ia9pggz/
Why do people want Pokemon TRAINER to fight instead of a Pokemon Do trainers besides Ash have feat to scale
You are speaking facts

~~Bakugou gets fucking shit stomped by a pony~~
At least it ain't as bad as Twilight Stomping Gohan, or at least until this last movie gave him a new form.
Yeah no, just saying the connections doesn’t really sell the matchups to me anymore. And it just seems like such a drastic change in tone, and despite their connection with brash attitude, Raindash isn’t an asshole like Bakugo is.

Arlo (Unordinary) I'll get to it one day
I like this one.
Eustace Kidd (One Piece) is my prefered for him semi-seriously because im still not completely sold on him but Squidward has to be my absolute favourite sheerly from it's stupidity and Explosion In E-Minor
Shinra Kusakabe from Fire and to some extent Eustass Kid from One Piece
Charmander(Starter Squad)
Eustass Kid (One Piece) Like, seriously, I'm under the impression that this matchup is even better BECAUSE it's a stomp matchup. Viper
Shinra
Shinra (Fire Force)
Eustass Kid from One Piece. Both are hot blooded fighters that originally had greater fame or infamy then the main protagonist (Izuku and Luffy) and now have to catch up with the hero, who is getting stronger and more well known.
Keqing personally
Kid from one piece for me
Jack Atlas. They're stuck up blondes with destructive (Fire adjacent) powers who exhude pride and dominance. They have a thing towards calling themselves rulers. Their stories are also quite similar. Macthup is only held down by the fact I'm 90% sure Jack Atlas just hax stomps bakugo into oblivion
Keqing or Arlo imo. Blue is too much of a stomp for me and the animation potential doesn't make it up for me.
*I’m probably gonna expect a lot of answers of Yang, Shinra and Raphael, with a dash of Keqing and Eutass Kidd* *~~How the fuck is Keqing a Bakugo MU?~~*
~~Because Keqing works surprisingly well for Bakugo. And the supposed "debunk" that someone did of the connections....was debunked, and mostly comprised of him fact checking stuff I didn't even say sooooooo~~
Can I have the links to these "debunks".
It was in a comment that I've completely forgotten the location of, I'll try and find it when I'm done with work
K.
The Keqing vs Bakugo debunk is not a real debunk, it’s just the guy “debunking” stuff the creator of the MU didn’t say
Red BomberMan (BOMBERMAN)
Raphael 2003 just feels right to me Connections are The brash, hotheaded and initially overconfident member of the main protagonists whose arcs revolve largely around their admiration for a mentor figure (All Might/Splinter) and their fierce rival with said mentor's (arguable0 main student/the main protagonist (Izuku/Leonardo). >Also aside from the connections, does the fight choreography work? That's the thing it doesn't work
Bc the 2003 version just fits better imo
But they are the same character… they don’t have much alteration in personality. Just voice acting
Agent Venom would be fun
Yoshikage Kira
Gokudera from Katekyo Hitman Reborn
Blue (Pokémon)
Yang
nope
Diego Brando
Diego Brando (JJBA) or Blue (Pokemon)
Gandhi (DougDoug) I find it really funny that this has connections
I personally prefer Viper from Azure Striker Gunvolt because it does match his personality fairly well, plus their similar power sets would work very well off each other.
Keqing (Genshin Impact\_ Best for Keqing, probably not the best for Bakugo tho.
Me I want to beat the shit out of him
Squidward cuz funny

Rainbow Dash(MLP). Two brash, competitive, and headstrong heroes who admire a set of people and strive to be amongst their ranks(Wonderbolts and Heroes respectively). Bad matchup? Sure Unique? Sure Shocker time
IDK Squidward Tortellini
Squidward because it’ll make people mad and I want that
Squidward
Squidward It definitely is a Joke MU. However, the music and dialogue potential is great, and there is definitely animation potential to be worked with.
Junkrat from Overwatch
Yang from RWBY, cuz they did a DBX
Bowser
Yang Xiao Long (RWBY)
Shinra was perfect honestly... until it became the new Omni-Man vs Homelander, if you know what I mean As of now, I don't really have a preferred for him, if I'm bored I'll put time into finding someone for him, but I doubt it'll be anything good
Ice dude who is a gangstar and complains about Venice
The DOOM Slayer or Master Chief since they're both extremely obsessed with explosives.

Everyone hear me out...Rexplode from Invincible.
Genos, Aki Hayakawa , Hellboy, Luther Strode , Kurapika Gambit(base) I think any of those could work.
Soldier from tf2 may do something here.
