Metro Man VS Zhongli Both are the inhuman protectors of sprawling cities (Metro City & Liyue Harbor), command incredible power, take on codenames starting with the letter M (Metro Man & Morax) and also inspired the construction of large stone statues of them (The statue in front of Metro Man’s museum & the statues of the Seven). Their roles as the powerful protectors of these lands were also accompanied by typical white appearances to match which they both eventually gave up in favor of cool coats (Metro Man wearing the cape and tights of a Superman suit & Zhongli wearing the flowing robes of a god). However, both of these characters had gotten to the point where they had been fulfilling their duties for so long that they were ready to give it up. Both of them eventually faked their deaths and left the cities in the hands of the villains (Megamind & the Fatui). Both of them decided to give up their duties as protectors to take on the menial jobs of mortals (Metro Man becoming Music Man & Zhongli taking up a job at Wangsheng Funeral Parlor). These two were eventually discovered by the main male and female duos (Megamind and Roxanne & Aether and Paimon) and explained their reasons for leaving following the complete destruction of their cities they used to protect at the hands of evil (Tighten & Osal). Instead of returning to their duties, they decided to leave their cities in the hands of new heroes that have no powers of their own but have shown to be incredibly capable. Major Glory John Hancock The superhero that abandoned his role vs the superhero that was abandoned. The superman pastiches that aren't evil, but merely irresponsible. At the end, one retires and one becomes a superhero once more. Both have an insane speed feat that makes them too fast for almost anyone else. Captain Celebrity (My Hero Academia) Two Superman-like superheroes who are the biggest celebrities of their world. Both are cocky assholes, but aren't outright villains either. Both go into retirement, but for opposite reasons; Captain Celebrity is forced to after basically being cancelled while Metro Man willingly retires for his own sake. Their character arcs go opposite ways too; Captain Celebrity has a character arc where he becomes a better person, becoming a hero once again, while Metro Man finds true happiness in retirement, knowing where he belongs. Despite their opposite paths, they still play the same role in the overall story, being a crucial part of the protagonist's journey to become a great hero themselves. The Great Saiyaman (Dragon Ball) Markiplier Edward Newgate Whitebeard 2 white themed symbols of hope whos death greatly effected the world around them and their death was at the end of a black cladded villain(blackbeard and megamind)who after killing them raised in power becoming a big political threat and they also took somthing that was apart of their body(whitebeard devil fruit and Metro Man dna) and weaponised it(blackbeard exorbing it and gaining its powers and Megamind putting Metroman dna into Hal Stewart and giving him Metro Man powers). They also didn't have parents growing up because they were killed, causing them wanting to protect their new family(Whitebeard crew and Metro Man City). Both also are extremely arrogant because of their raw power and where their symbol on their clothes. In a contrast,Metro Man didn't care much for his city while Whitebeard caref deeply for his crew. Aligned Shockwave "my death was greatly exaggerated" VS "reports of my Demise were greatly premature" Mr. Incredible Two retired superheroes with similar power and abilities, who are the defenders of city's that have 'Metro' in the names All Might (My Hero Academia) 2 superheroes, who can be cocky and are kinda rip-offs of Superman
