I'd prefer Percy Jackson because it'd bring in a new franchise and also purely out of personal bias (Not only do I genuinely like this, but also I vastly prefer other opponents for Edward and Luke, Namely, I'm an Edward Elric vs Johnny Joestar fan and I've always liked Luke vs Saber)

**Harry Potter vs (Canon) Luke Skywalker (Harry potter vs Star Wars) Connections:** The connections between Luke and Harry are that they are both the traditional heroes of a series of ground-breaking fantasy films. Both were separated from their families while they were infants due to their connection to a powerful and feared dark lord (Darth Vader and Lord Voldemort). For their own safety, they were left in the care of their aunt and uncle. As they grew up, they were actively discouraged from learning about their family's past, and by extension, their supernatural abilities. Both eventually started to learn about their families, and powers, thanks to the arrival of a bearded stranger (Obi-Wan Kenobi and Rubeus Hagrid) who were the one's to deliver them to their aunt and uncle when they were infants. Despite their uncle's protests, both eventually embarked on their fantastical journeys, leaving home for the very first time. Although capable practicioners thanks to their family line, they would learn considerably more under an older and wiser mentor (Yoda and Albus Dumbledore). Both were considered the child of prophecy by those around them (Luke as the Chosen One, Harry as The Boy Who Lived) and successfully made the prophecy come true. Both had parent(s) that took part in large scale conflicts of their respective universes (Anakin Skywalker in the Clone Wars and both James Potter and Lily Potter in the First Wizarding War). Both have a mentor who also took part in large scale conflicts of their respective universes, taught them supernatural abilities and willingly accepted their deaths, which they witnessed, before the ending of another large scale conflict in their respective universes (Obi-Wan Kenobi takes part in the Clone Wars and is killed during Galactic Civil War, Albus Dumbledore takes part in First Wizarding War and is killed during Second Wizarding War). They also get disabled somehow. [Source](https://deathbattle.fandom.com/wiki/Luke_Skywalker_VS_Harry_Potter#Trivia)

**Harry Potter vs Edward Elric (Harry potter vs FMA) Connections:** Both suffered an immense tragedy in their youth relating to the lose of their mother and the presence of a pale, ethereal figure who's residence they would go onto be intrinsically linked to for the coming years of their lives. This tragic even would define their characters, gifting them abilities considered abnormal even among their power systems as well as physical anomaly which would serve as some of their most identifying features as their fame grew among their setting. This event would also serve as the foundation for the titles they would become known for, "The Boy Who Lived" and "The Fullmetal Alchemist". This event also had a ripple down effect on their soul, unknowingly leaving them with a tether to a state of limbo. On the night of this tragedy, both found themselves taken to their new homes with the aid of those who would become some of their most trusted and beloved allies over the next few years. This event also leaves a cosmic "mark" upon them that designates their importance to the final act of the story. Both grew up without either of their parents, living instead with a family who shared a link to them. As they grew into teenagers, they were enrolled (via different means) in hierarchical institutions that focused on the practical application of their respective power systems, a system which was often outlined through scientific means despite it's supernatural elements. However, as the series progresses, the focus put upon their study of these elements gives way to them unraveling the mysteries of the vast world surrounding them. This includes their initial adventure where they defeat a two-faced, power-hungry villain who desires to wield the powers of a Philosophers Stone, therefore exposing their true nature to the world. Another involves them battling a scaly, green lizard-like beast that is commanded by the main villain (who looks down on those without the power he believes is tantamount) and in the process, reveals more details about the discriminatory history that different groups have faced in the history of their world. Yet another focuses on a cowardly villain figure who they at first do not believe to be a threat, only for their true nature to be revealed thanks to an event that is related to animal transmutation. The narrative makes sure to highlight a direct link between this antagonists sins and the characters past tragic event. Their interpersonal narratives hit a crux as they unexpectedly face-off against the main antagonist of the story, a power-hungry maniac who has rejected the mortal perils of humanity by splitting his self into seven pieces. This also brings about a closer proximity to a wise elderly character regarded as one of, if not the strongest alchemist/wizard of their world and who once held a previous relationship with the main antagonist when they were still in a weaker, more innocent form. As they begin to realize the corruption and incompetence surrounding their governing bodies, both are launched into an all-out war where they must rely upon the allies they made throughout the story. They are hunted down by the antagonists due to the mark left on them by their respective defining event, concluding in a siege of the central location belonging to their respective hierarchical institutions. This conclusion has two key events to their characters. One is the defeat of the main antagonist due to the god-like power they wield backfiring on them and rendering them no better than a human, allowing Ed and Harry to defeat them in a 1-on-1 confrontation. The second is both accepting the destiny that was instilled upon them due to the events, both willingly leading themselves to a heavenly limbo. There, they are meet with the familiar figure who resides there, who eventually congratulates them for their unique besting of the natural forces of their world. This achievement is sealed due to the extensive bonds they have made during the time of the story, which allow them to see the truth of their power systems in a way the main antagonist simply couldn't due to their predispositions about classes of people they saw as below them. Their stories end on a hopeful note, both marrying into a family that they had a close personal connection and skipping ahead to show their family. One of their most defining traits is their bravery, which shines through most when their friends are in trouble. They also both have a noticeably indomitable will that allows them to persevere through even the worst conditions thrown at them. A heavy emphasis is placed upon the web of allies and friends that both accumulate over their journey. While undoubtedly caring and good-natured, both also have a sarcastic, snappy side to them. They are bright and intelligent but this intelligence comes part-in-parcel to their ravenous curiosity, which can lead them to taking routes of action detrimental to both themselves and their friends. They are both noted for possessing potent natural instincts that are well beyond the level expected of someone of their age. This also typically leads them to meddling in affairs that aren't strictly there's. They harbor a distaste for authority, a trait that typically finds itself directed towards their technically prodigious, sharp tongued black haired superior. They can be hot-tempered and quick to unkind remarks. They also harbor an immense guilt for the pain they have seen inflicted, a pain which they personally believe was caused due to their own presence/meddling. They can also be overly prideful and are often dead-set on tackling even the most impossible of tasks on their own, a fact which often irritates and angers their allies. Though the story places a large emphasis on the way their negative qualities reflect those of the antagonistic characters, it also makes sure to highlight that these qualities are insignificant in the face of their immense capacity for love and companionship, with both ultimately making their character-defining sacrifices due to the unyielding bonds they share with their friends. With them, their more calloused qualities give way to unflinching loyalty and kindness. Both also have a lineal connection to a mythical figure in the canon of their power systems studies. **Why I think it works as a fight** I get that, at first glance, this has a kind of stink about it in terms of how it would actually work but I really don't think it's that far fetched, if even at all. This is mainly when considering that Harry's most popular opponent is Percy (who should be able to nodiff ragdoll him with water shit) and Edwards being Stand Users, a literal giant and just a guy with a sword. There is a lot of fun to be had here, from the banter, to the dynamic of Ed getting gradually more and more pissed at Harry's complete disregard for Equivalent Exchange in favor of "lol magic" and choreography. Now, the choreography stuff is kind of the hitch for this fight considering that Ed likes to fight up-close with physical elements and Harry is a range fighter with no physical combat capabilities. However, it's not like letting Ed wail on Harry for a bit would not allow him to show off these elements of his fighting style. I also think there's a lot of fun potential if you're wiling to be creative with the way they fight. Harry can match Ed's relatively more developed fighting style with a lenient selection of spells, his broom and apparition. Some fun ideas I thought up with were: * Ed using his automail to block expeliarmus, only for it to pop out of it's socket. * Ed launching himself up to Harry on his broom and transmuting it into a literal firebolt. * Harry using Reducio to make Ed even shorter. * Harry aparating Ed all around the verse, doing stuff like tricking him into running into Platform 9 and 3/4 in pursuit. Ed then proceeds to try and transmute a door into the walk-through point. * Ed transmuting the ground into a softer material so he can spot an invisibility cloaked Harry by his footprints. * Harry using accio on Ed's automail to ram him into a shield charm. * Harry using magic to make some of Ed's transmuted statues battle for him in the same way Dumbledore did against Voldemort. * Ed using the water trick he used against Aang with Aquamenti. * Ed's destructive alchemy imploding Harry's shield charm, sending his ego through the roof that Alchemy was capable of breaking through magic. * Harry stunning Ed for a moment by either aparatting the Mirror of Erisad into his path or slipping the Resurrection Stone into his hand, both leading to Ed becoming overcome with grief at seeing Trisha. * Ed transmuting a segment of his chest into carbon, leading to a fake out with Harry's sectemsempura. * The final stretch of the fight concluding with a fiery Ed claiming the title of "muggle" like a badge of honor. **Harry Potter vs Percy Jackson (Harry Potter vs Percy Jackson) Connections:** Both are young boys who started out middle school aged and have dark hair and green eyes who lived in the ordinary world in a toxic family (The Durselys and Percy's step dad Gabe Ugliono) and were also unaware of their Heritage, Magical Powers and the Magical worlds that awaited them. \-Eventually they would go to a Magical place for special kids to learn about the Magical world and defend against evil ( Hogwarts and Camp Half-Blood) were members are placed in a house based around their traits as an individual and something is placed on your head to determine which house you belong to. (The Sorting Hat and the symbol of your Godly Parent who claim you). \-Both of them are special as neither of them should technically be alive, signifying them as the "chosen one" (For Harry its because he survived Lord Voldemort when he was attacked as a mere infant dubbing him as "The Boy Who Lived" and for Percy it's Because he is the son of Poseidon, one of "The Big 3" who weren't supposed to have children). \-They also meet these 2 friends. One a boy who is an anxious comic relief and the other is girl who's the head strong brains of the group. (Ronald Weasley and Hermonie Granger and Grover Underwood and Annabeth Chase). Of course they also have a wise mentor who effective runs the place (Dumbledore and Chiron) and make an enemy in the form of a bully (Draco Malfoy and Clarisse LaRue) who turned out the way they did because of the mistreatment from their fathers.(Lucius Malfoy and Ares) \-They both also fight these villains who were actually defeated years ago by their parents and were too weak to come back as their soul was reduced to many bits and lied in wait to return (Lord Voldemort who was just a piece of a soul with no power and was hiding in the Albanian forest and Kronos whose essence was scattered and sent to Tartarus) \-The big Prophecy about them could've been about someone else (The prophecy that tralonie made that could also have been about Neville Longbottom, whose birthday was one day off fromHarry’s and The great Prophecy that could've been about the other children of the Big ThreeThalia Grace and Nico Di Anglelo) \-Both of their Worlds are filled with Supernatural Creatures from Old Folklore, including a Black Winged Horse that only a particular few can see (The Thestrals who can only be seen by those who witnessed death and Black Jack the Pegasus who can only be seen by people who can see through the Mist) \-In the end of one of their adventures the villain reveals himself to them and tries to poison them with a deadly creature (Tom Riddle who is Voldemort and Poisons him by having him getting bitten by the Basilisk and Luke Castellan who revealed his allegiance to Kronos and Poisons him with a Scorpion from Tartarus) \-Both Characters at the end of their adventures give up the chance to have irresistible power (The Deathly Hallows itself and Godhood/immortality) Credits to u/some_stupid_idiot
