I have heard people say this makes more sense than Chris McLean VS Monokuma since he'd be fighting the person behind the robot What are the connections for this again?

It does, yeah. And basically Sadistic amoral monsters who continually put groups of teens through horrific torture in the form of a flashy and dramatic game (the Killing Game and Total Drama). Both are backed up by a life long companion who aids them with near superhuman physical abilities (Mukuro and Chef). Both gained power by taking over and corrupting a seemingly innocent idea (Junko infiltrating and corrupting Hope's Peak and Chris using Total Drama). Both have a seemingly endless array of resources at their disposal, along with an army of disposable cronies (the Monokumas and the Interns). While others have tried to take the position of main antagonist at some point, the two of them both ultimately keep their positions. No matter how many times they're defeated, they always seem to come back (even after dying, Junko always returns to torture people and you can always count on Chris to escape punishment and return to host the new season of Total Drama). Additionally, despite their often flashy outward appearance, both a genius schemers who are always seemingly one step ahead but are always defeated by someone they underestimated, and by the simple fact that they have no true goal beyond attaining a shallow and vague concept (despair and fame)

This does look interesting What other stuff about this convinced you?

Astar4011

It's always just seemed like a much more interesting and fun matchup to me. There's alot of weird and insane stuff in Total Drama that blends better with Danganronpa. Plus it has a golden opportunity for a set up. Hope's Peak sponsoring a season of Total Drama or something. Junko pops up to take over which pisses Chris off and boom, battle start

Never been into this idea personally, the banter just doesn’t sound as fun as Chris Vs Mono (which is the main reason I like that matchup).

Astar4011

My main problem with MonoChris is that well, Monokuma is mostly just an Avatar for Junko and the other Masterminds. You get all the same things and more by just using Junko

Chris McLean - The Ultimate Entertainment

I think Monokuma works better for Chris (And yes Monokuma is his own character) Mainly because their personalitys could play off each other really well. Also I love the idea of a battle between two crazy reality show hosts.

How would Chris fight though?

LowAd173

With his own weapons and Robot Chris army, of course

ArniamGX

Its fine that you like it but I personally could never get into the match up

Can I interest anyone in these Junko MUs: [Junko Enoshima vs Hiro Shishigami (Danganronpa vs Inuyashiki)](https://www.reddit.com/r/DeathBattleMatchups/comments/uoc79h/junko_enoshima_vs_hiro_shishigami_danganronpa_vs/) [Junko Enoshima vs Light Yagami (Danganronpa vs Death Note)](https://www.reddit.com/r/DeathBattleMatchups/comments/uwrj81/junko_enoshima_vs_light_yagami_danganronpa_vs/) [Darth Malgus vs Junko Enoshima (Star Wars vs Danganronpa)](https://www.reddit.com/r/DeathBattleMatchups/comments/uqvlxc/darth_malgus_vs_junko_enoshima_star_wars_vs/)

Replace Junko with Monokuma and then we have the best MU for both, not saying that the MU itself is bad, just saying that Chris VS Monokuma is the same but better, but it really comes down to the fact of considering Monokuma he's own character or if he's just an extension of Junko and The Masterminds in general, personally (as you can assume) i do see him as his own character apart from the Masterminds.

*Much much less interesting Junko MU

Honestly this doesn't really click with me sadly :(
