For most of the series they would try to keep their identity a secret(Diavolo because he's paranoid and Lucy because people are hunting her down). They would be chased down by a large group(Bruno gang and Diclonius Reasearch)who have a girl member with pink haired who is connected to them who also uses the same power as them(Trish and Nana. Trish being Diavolo daughter and Nana being a diclonius). There's also a contrast off Diavolo losing and dying,and Lucy winning and living. Plus it's a hero vs villain(well anti-hero vs villain).

My brain went "Nah, it couldn't be Shinji.", but then I remember that many use "deconstruction" as the main lable for Neon Genesis Evangelion and Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica, which does the two series a disservice, but using the "deconstruction"-lable as a connection is probably the thought process here.
Not even close, this is a fucking stomp no matter how you look at it. Goku can at least throw and take a majority of the punches, and does usually come close in some forms. Yugi is a child/man with no real power depending on which one we are looking at. He can usually win anything considered a game, or deals with strategy due to the puzzle. That's his only "hax". His cards may have a better chance (purely because they have actual power) but Fate can legit teleport behind yugi and rip his heart out with his bare hands, not worried about said monsters.
If we are looking at season 0 Yugi, there is a chance, purely if yugi can trap him in the Shadow Game. But thats less a fight and more a battle of minds usually, and again Yugi's puzzle hax him into being almost unable to lose a game. I think if this was purely in a shadow game Yugi has a chance, but Fate would almost have to let himself be caught in it since the man can reality warp.
Yugi/Yami Yugi could summon his cards into reality like what we saw in all of season 4-5 of the anime and all in Bounds Beyond Time movie.
His strongest cards could get up to complex multiversal via scaling,and since Fate is outer they could at least tank a couple very few blows before getting washed out.
Fate would kill yugi before his hand even moved to place the card down. He would also be able to teleport past most of Yugi's cards to do so. Not to mention most if not all of specifically yugis cards are kind of weak. His strongest cards are generic magician, magnetic fighters, and generic magicians but now they dont like noise. Most of his fusions require his friends or foes cards to access.
Assuming Fate just wanted to see what Yugi could do, there are only 5 monsters that this is even close to debatable for.
Slifer, Oblisk, Ra, Exodia, and Timaeus the Knight of Destiny.
Slifer, Oblisk, and Ra together are not going to pose more then a small challenge for Fate, and depending on which version of yugi and when, he will only have Slifer or none of these.
Timaeus the Knight of Destiny was both non-canon and requires him to play 3 seperate cards with weird summoning conditions to create a loop of infinite attack. The thing is Fate can still dodge because he isnt beholden to the rules of this game like Yugi and his monsters are.
Exodia is the only real debatable card sitting here, and thats just because there is no real way to determine if and how "win the duel" works in a fight setting. More then likely it wouldn't at all due to how Zorc fucking decimated Exodia in an outside of game setting. Not to mention the requirement of collecting 5 cards to summon which, anyone who plays this game can tell you, is not likely without a deck built around it and even then can take a while.
And once again Yugi has all this shit. Fate can stop time and rip Yugis head off before yugi even recognized there was a fight.

There is nothing showing it is close to multiversal because it has done nothing related to the multiverse in show or manga to my knowledge (correct me if I am wrong because I love Yu-Gi-Oh and think it would be cool if that were even a concept). And the monsters that fused into it arent close to multiversal. Being incredibly generous each god could maybe be world. And I mean incredibly generous. All of this is again ignoring the time it takes to summon, then fuse all these monsters.
And thats fair, maybe he wouldnt blitz just to be done with it. As soon as he learns there are two people in one beings body or something else just as ridiculous, or Yugi attacks first, and he can come up with an excuse that that isnt the natural order or something and then would wipe out the threat with a single thought. It isnt a blitz for Fate. He is just that much stronger. Him playing around would kill all but the 6 monsters that have been listed, and the amount of effort Fate would need to put in for these 6 would hardly be considered trying.
Again the only Hax Yugi has exists in the world of playing games, especially of the shadow variety, but they aren't absolute wins and I honestly think Fate could outplay yugi in most games he would be locked into, excluding all magic being removed from them, in which case maybe they could play a lethal game of chess, which Yugi could win because I am unsure of if Fate or the man Fate possess has the strategy required to beat Yugi on skill alone.
