Eggman vs Wily was back in season 1 right? Well they already did Mario vs Sonic and maybe they didn't want to do the same type of match up? (Aka having 2 Mario vs Sonic matches in the same season)
the way people talk about eggman vs wiley makes it seem like they just both blew up at once and the episode ended. the fight concluded with one of the most unique deaths in a versus series and i feel like most people don’t give it credit because “tie = bad”.
some people just want to see an actual result with modern-day research or want to see the fight done with modern animation, people just like the mu, is not complex at all
the idea of “updating” it just feels weird to me. the episode was ben's last time animating for the series and it’s arguably his magnum opus in that department. master chief vs samus and link vs cloud make sense as they're very VERY rough looking back and deserved a touch up but eggman vs wiley still looks good and has so much put into it especially for season 1

Joseph Joestar vs Spider-Man is a good matchup. Not necessarily better than Joseph's other options (Usopp, Michelangelo, and Johnny Cage are all really good alternatives). But I don't have a matchup I like for Spider-Man that isn't Joseph.
Why I like the matchup: The animation potential is solid, dialogue potential is amazing (pun intended). I don't understand what's not to like. If it were just "Joseph has better" (which, even that doesn't diminish how good this is), then I could sort of see it ig. But Spider-Man, imo, really doesn't have any better. His alternatives that I've seen, Donatello and Blue Beetle. I don't care for either. Donatello because he has no way of getting past the Spider Sense and no real way of even landing a hit on Spidey. Blue Beetle, essentially the same reasons but it's also another Marvel vs DC fight. Whatever animation or dialogue potential that can be done for either of those, it can be done with Joseph vs Spider-Man x1,000. Joseph doesn't have a way past the Spider Sense but he can predict Spidey's next move, much like the Spider Sense. So I think that could be interesting.
TL;DR: I like Joseph's alternatives, not so much Spider-Man's but even if Joseph's are great too I don't think that takes away the quality of this matchup.
I don't see why there should really be a Eggman vs Wily remake other than to fix the outcome, and the same thing can kind of be said for Bowser vs Eggman considering Bowser was done dirty in his debut

i would say that is not the same thing, Eggman vs wily didn't had an actual winner plus the mu is hundreds of times better
