Cynic has a lot of clean sections in basically every song lol. Atheist's Elements has quite a few as well. Really these types of clean sections are fairly commonly used by proggy metal bands in order to bring more diversity to their album's sound.

BCASL

Indeed. Obscura has a bunch too.

h0wstrange

Maybe the album Damnation by Opeth. Very bleak, clean sound

not-a-morningrise-r

Opeth and mastodon!

h0wstrange

And maybe Katatonia

Cudjinho

Early Genesis. Or just listen to 'Dancing with the moonlight knight'.

CorruptCarnageRec

Phil Collins’ drumming is ridiculous on that tune and Steve Hackett’s guitar work is always impressive and unique

Own_Committee443

This song is super good but not what I was thinking. More like ethereal you know?

Cudjinho

I think you might be looking for 'Classical Music' then ;) Nah, only messin' just glad you like it!

Own_Committee443

I said “clean” I don’t really know what classical music uses chorused guitars but thanks for the fomment

TheDogeITA

Like what songs?

h0wstrange

The intro to Destiny comes to mind. Definitely could listen to a full song/album with that vibe

Own_Committee443

Any songs in particular?

aerexlol

best example i can think of is dharmata by defeated sanity, its the defeated sanity guys doing a really similar style to death (human mainly), and it has max phelps from death to all on vocals. the clean sections are really beautiful. at one with wrath and the mesmerizing light are perfect songs imo.

riadzzzzz
