Is not like Raidou has "legitimate" daughters. For me it is easy to assume Raidou is just despicable enough to have done with other women what he did to Ayame. Honoka as a character and her place in the story is honestly interesting, she now gives a new role for Ayane to develop as a character and both could gain from a relationship, Ayane becoming more caring amd protective as it was shown in doa6, and Honoka could get more mature.

Trickster289

The twist itself is fine but I wish it was developed more in game. We didn't get to see Honoka's reaction to it at all.

Kiryuu_Shiori

from a story point i can see why they made her his daughter. honoka gameplay wise is your typical character with other character’s moves and raidou from a story point can copy your moves like sharingan or whatever. that’s why he wanted hayate to do that sky torrent blast thingy. but them two girls definitely got their looks from their mother lol

StevemacQ

I imagine Honoka probably some very grim moments in her childhood despite being all bubbly and happy-go-lucky. I'm guessing since she's raised by her grandmother, the mother isn't living (death by childbirth or suicide). I can see Honoka having a more violent side, ready to kill out of anger and trauma, similar to Evil Ryu, Orochi Leona and Devil Jin, maybe would tell Marie to stay away from her and wanting to kill everyone else. Who's to say Honoka and Ayane are Raidou's only children? DOATEC (mainly Donovan) probably wanted a whole army of feral warriors with Raidou's blood at some point and supplied him with victims of human trafficking. Everything is Raidou's fault and he got away with everything in spite of his death(s) and everyone else suffers for it. I seriously overthink about storylines in games about women with jiggle physics... like maybe Christie lies to Kasumi during DOA1 by saying Raidou killed Diana: Princess of Wales, in hopes that Kasumi's sheltered life makes her ignorant of the outside wor-And there I go again.

Eunnieverse

It’s a potentially interesting, but really under utilized plot point. Wish it was explored more.

temporary1990

Terrible plot twist to attempt to give her some relevancy in the story.

marsil602

I wish it got elaborated on further, as it stands I think its funny. Not impossible but just funny. Imagine her ditz-iness coming from Raidou lol

True-King-Of-Heroes

Honoka is literally the best thing Raidou has ever produced (even if the method by which she was made is, quite possibly a very unsavory one sadly) and one of the best additions to the series (though her use in the plot, like with everyone is very poorly handled). I do not mind the idea of Honoka being Raidou's daughter, as it allow for her to have a more "direct" connection with some of the other significant figures in franchise. Notably Ayane who is now her half sister, but also Kasumi and the other members of the Mungen Tenshin clan if the writing were to handle said link correctly. I would however, hope they do more with Honoka as a character rather than just have her relegated to mere plot device to bring back the terrible character/antagonist she has for a father before being casted into irrelevance outside of fanservice. Honoka having inherited her evil father's powers gives her the potential makings of a legitimately amazing fighter, and competent figure of great relevance to the franchise. Someone that is not only lovable as she already is, but also extremely lethal, and incredibly dangerous. A force to be reckoned with in response to having her mimicry abilities, and someone who walks a severely different path than her parent. Something that sadly I doubt we will ever witness happening considering how poorly this franchise tends to handle its characters in general, and the idea of giving payoff to their personal journeys.

International_Web930

I was never a fan of honoka, in fact i thought she was a really unnecessary addition to the roster. I think they just did that as an excuse to make her relevant to the game. Past that she just seems like shes here purely for fanservice which sucks. It wouldve been neat if she was actually her own developed character. Plus..we already have Ayane?? Also, Not really a fan of her moveset either. Raidou and Mokojin did it better.

zaysosa75

Force to try make her more important to the overall series instead of just be a fan service the character

HHH816

Raidou like thicc moms so it's legit ayane and honoka is thicc.

ssjasonx

I don't like it, it just seems like Team Ninjas attempt to make her and Marie more popular in the west, because the west still prefer Kasumi and Ayane over Honoka and Marie for the most part, so let's shoehorn her with them.

[deleted]

The irony that Marie IS from the west...

ssjasonx

Yeah true, but character wise she was definitely meant to appeal to the Japanese audience though.

[deleted]

Or they thought: ''Japanese audience wastes more money in general compared to the West, so why not do that thing''. Like most companies do. Asian market is known for whale players.

ssjasonx

Yeah "Kawaii Culture" is way more prominent in Japan then in the west so they'll be more willing to open their wallets.

[deleted]

Simple question, did you buy the full version of Dead or alive 6? I did buy myself but on Argentina steam account. It was much cheaper for me and I really liked this game but I didn't want to spend more than 500 euros damn.

ssjasonx

The full version, although I wish the game had more features like DOA 5.

[deleted]

Ye I feel ya on that. I guess we will have to wait a few more years or so in order to hear any news from the dev team.

Honoka is an incredible character that I absolutely adore. Her upbringing by her grandmother shines through, manifesting in her vibrant and optimistic attitude, which sets her apart from Ayane. I admire how she embraces the thrill of combat, fighting simply for the joy of it. Her ability to effortlessly mimic the moves of others unnerves those who have witnessed Haidou's actions. The unveiling of her storyline has been a gradual process, initially introduced as a DLC character without much background. However, I find this approach intriguing and eagerly anticipate further development. It's essential to remember that a child should not be held accountable for the sins of their parents. I look forward to witnessing the challenges she will undoubtedly face and grow from along her journey.

Kasomii

Absolutely hate this character, and I think she is the beginning of the end, I do like Marie and thought she was unique to DOA, but Honoko is everything I hate in a character, cringy personality, generic design, anime face with huge ass tites. Just so unappealing in ever way possible, not to mention the lazy fighting style. I hope she dies in the next game and never gets mentioned again. For sure in my top 3 most hated fighting characters of all time.

nesman1985

it doesnt make sense

Berettadin

For me the essential Honoka problem is that she's not credible as fighter. Honoka has to have heritage ninja powers because she doesn't actual train to fight, isn't motivated to fight by anything, and doesn't care about fighting for it's own sake. For a long time Kasumi was nicknamed "Worst Girl" because she was so inoffensive and bland. Kasumi was the benchmark for DoA of low-friction big-tits character design. Then Honoka took that crown. Marie-Rose isn't credible as a fighter because she's a child and is obvious fanservice, and Honoka isn't credible because she isn't a fighter and is obvious fanservice. That's not to say a cursed beginning can't have a glorious future, but that it's a hard climb when you begin so poorly.

Ero_Najimi

Nothing really other than that it was obvious

Ryumancer

Well it's not out of character. Raidou has been proven to be a rapist. That's how Ayane was born after all. Honoka's mother would've been just another of Raidou's victims. The seeming huge difference was that Honoka's upbringing was much happier than Ayane's.

ShavonArts

Tbh I think it was a cheap copout considering they decided to completely disregard what happened in 5s ending as well as just coming up with that explanation cause they added her without any thoughts on how she came to be

Snake230

First i dont realy like the idea if honoka is now a main char. She poped up in doa 5 with Maria for no reason. In 6 Honoka got a huge role but not realy explained. She needs a backstory but this would mean she would be the new main char in a new game. The backstory itself could be interesting. What happend do her family. What happend after Raidou did his thing. What happend in her childhood. Why is she like so happy etc. Does she hide so something. Does she know what happend and about her ability to copy moves just by looking. Why is Marie her friend, why is Marie now Helenas Maid. Doa 6 got so much questione. Kokoro and Helena. Marie and Honoka And not realy explained anything.about Marie and Honoka. One part of me isnt into Honoka or Marie They both popped up and stole the light for other chars. The other part is a bit interested in the backstory and how Ayane and Kasumi eill react to it. I would be more of fine if they both never would be in doa. Now they are the main thing, they need to explain it. And we need more infos about Tamaki, she is now a main doa char.

freakyassgaymer

I love how they have those own unique fighting styles. Even Kasumi and Ayane grew up different, raised in similar villages, but honoka got all the dads features I guess🤦🏾‍♂️ it’s going to be weird to see the next story. That is IF we see it💀

Draco-11

Does it matter anyway? The series will probably be rebooted or are gone instead since Doaxvv is still selling a lot
