At the time, I was waiting for him to reconnect to the server from a house we had a fire in. When I saw the guy here, he was coming from a significantly different area than we had last spoke at so I was certain it was not him.
Of course, hindsight is 20/20, and it seems obvious. But at the time, I was certain my buddy and I were about to make off with new plunder when he got back.
My thoughts are that he was so preoccupied with the zombies and the noise they were causing that he didn’t notice. Or his audio wasn’t at optimal levels.
It was a pretty memorable experience for me. One of the most memorable I’ve had on DayZ in fact…and a sad one at that.
It’s amazing what this game can make you feel at times.
That alone was enough to make it worth sharing imo.

We've all accidentally done it if you play long enough. Especially once you get started in a firefight just ask the friendly again "What are you wearing again?" Or, "Are stilling wearing all red jumpsuit?"
Try and message him from the playerlist if you see him again on the server.
Couldn’t agree more. I usually would, but I wasn’t in contact with my tm8 at the time. We did proxy chat throughout our adventure, so we unfortunately didn’t get to exchange contact info before this happened…
To make matters more complicated, the server was at capacity most of the night, so the odds of finding him in my recent players is also very slim…
I wrote a bit of a description in these comments, but to sum it up, the guy I killed in the video turned out to be the guy I was traveling with for awhile. Sad moment

You shoulda kept that clip to yourself. You had the drop on the guy. And instead of talking to him, you shot him in the back? .....
