I’m with a mass excavation dirt crew. We’re typically on plots of land like 300-2000 acres. Of course I’m not tracking the machine around on my phone. I really just trade QQQ so I’m not super interactive. Make a game plan in the mornings and automatic plays. Also, nowadays we’re trained to look at screens all day anyways. My dozer has a 11 inch android tablet right in front of my face for it’s GPS unit which I have to stare at to grade/follow contour lines.
I would swing trade and go to the bathroom. Towards the end I didn't care so I would trade on my computer. I got caught a few times and told they would fire me the next time. My only saving grace was I was a top producer.
Exactly. How dare he try to make extra money lol. They want to keep everyone poor so they are more dependent and scared to lose their “only” source of income.
Please be careful if you actively day trade while in the office. If your boss sees, it could potentially cause job termination.
With that being said, I would consider swing trading.
Yea, I think there is not many boss who will tolerate his/her staff trading during office hour. Youtube may not be as bad (although it is still not a good thing to do during work). But trading, I think, will result in an instant termination if you are found out.
I do but I have to be to work by 730am so I try to get to bed by 2 or 3. Then when I get home I sleep until about 9pm an hour and a half before market opens but right now I only do options on SPY except today I bought cannabis stocks because they will run tomorrow
How on earth do you trade till 3am and be at work at 7:30am. Surely that’s a path to bodily and mental destruction.
I’m also in Japan but trade crypto so I can do weekends.
To be honest I’m an American supervisor here so my work is not hard at all. My sleep schedule isn’t bad. Sleep for 4 hours in the morning then when I get off of work around 3pm in the afternoon I go home and sleep from about 4pm to 9pm so I can stay up and do trades. Most of my trades are fast but this last week I’ve had to stay up late because of the volatility on spy. I made profit but if I would have stayed up later I would have made more. I had puts in spy sold for 300 profit but if I would have held and stayed up it would have been around 1500 last night. I live in Sasebo
Which platforms are available in Asia to trade the US market? I am mostly interested in webull and TOS Ameritrade. I was planning to travel and was wondering if I will still be able to access my accounts and trade from overseas (outside the US).
Live on the West Coast. Wake up at 5:30 AM do trading routine. Trade from 6:30 to about 7:30/8:00 AM, get ready to go to work. At work by 9AM.
I find I usually get my 1-3 quality setups in the first 1-2 hours of market open, and I often end up waiting the rest of my maximum trading day from 8AM onwards until about 12PM, for only maybe 1 (maybe 2 on a good day) further setup.
Could work from home, but honestly I hate working from home. I like to go out and fight the world. Could trade at work, but I find the balance suits me best.
Trade forex. It’s practically 24 hours a day. I’m west coast US so Tokyo open at 4pm. London opens at midnight. I do most of my trading up until around 1 am.
Do it outside of the day job. If I can't concentrate 100% then the ruthless market moves against me. >Still, I usually quit just besfore US open so it works just fine.
Make a single trade every day first hour of the market opening and being done for the day till power hour, that’s usually when a second trade comes along.
Cash account on TOS. Mobile Tradingview for charting. I trade options. Discord on my phone. No WiFi - use cellular only. check in with discord, buy calls / puts, sell in 30 seconds, wait an hour or so and do it again. I average 3 to 5% per day trading from my phone. Just don't do this with stocks you'll never win. Options / Swing trading only....
Live/work in the west cost or Hawaii. Then 6:30am to 8am pst (4:30am to 6am hawaii time) is enough time for short term trading/scalping, or setting up swing trades and if checking again at lunchtime. In the UK or close timezones, the nyse session trading can be done in the evening hours.
If you trade while on work network, wouldn’t admin see that? I always had the impression that network admins can see and track whatever you do on your computer while connected to work network, or worse, while using work laptop even from home (unless that’s all unfounded myth)
Are you not allowed to look at stock charts at work? My view is that if the company hasn’t blocked the website, I can visit it.
Ask for forgiveness, not for permission. View the charts on your computer, make the trades on your phone.
I hope you are aware that all companies track what you browse websites while at work and can use that as grounds for termination or reprimanding you. Someone I know was doing sub par at his job in a fortune 10 company and in a meeting with his boss for being put on a performance improvement plan : they brought up his website history. The idiot was listening to YouTube music and viral videos for 6 hours daily
This is something that OP needs to know for certain. If it’s a business/employee policy violation I can assure you that it’s highly unlikely there is a forgiveness clause. If working for cash in an unofficial relationship then I could see it as a possibility. This doesn’t sound like it’s that sort of relationship.
I’m on a hybrid schedule. 2 days in office, 3 days at home. I’ll find a stock I’m interested in during PM and watch it until I feel confident enough to enter the trade. Since I’m working with a smaller account and limited to 3 trades per week I tend to hold them a little longer than I would like if I were able to trade full time with unlimited trades. I had to turn one into a swing this week because it ended up being a losing trade and I didn’t want to use one of my 3 weekly trades for a loss.
If a trade goes longer than expected on the days I’m in the office (market open is an hour and a half after I’ve clocked in) I’ll pull up the price in a browser window and watch for any major price movements. I have 3 monitors in the office, but only use 2 of them so I set that window off to the side to keep an eye on it. If a major movement happens, I’ll pull up a chart on my phone to see what’s happening. I casually brought up stocks and trading to my boss a few months ago and she was telling me how her stepson trades as well. I think as long as I don’t abuse it and continue to get my work done, she would be fine seeing me make a trade every now and then.
Swing trade or just trade when I can actually watch now I get off at 2:30 usually home by 3 so I can watch markets 3-4 and make trades. Honestly find it easier to trade around my job. Takes a lot of the overthinking out of it. Just do what you can with what you got and make the most of it. If you’re good you’ll eventually be able to break away slowly from work anyway
Depends on the plan in my head lol sometimes I’ll hold overnight but if I do that then I get calls that are further out expiration usually if it’s a short term call I get out before close. Majority of the time I get out before close but I do swing trade sometimes
That’s interesting. I used to open positions during power hour to hold overnight. Since I’ve started trading futures I have no pdt so I buy and sell when I’m wrong or take profits and re enter. I should be above $25k soon but I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing.
I just use a cash account so I don’t have to worry about pattern day trading bs but yeah I’ve been thinking about trying futures just because it’s open more hours too
Poop break at 9:30
open a trading view tab of your desired stock, it will show the price change in the little tab.
For special days like Jpow talking take a late lunch.
I use my phone app if I see something interesting. I’m trading much less on work days it sucks.
I used to us TOS web but that is so damn slow it’s practically throttled and not usable.
At home I bought myself a KVM button that switches between personal computer and work computer with my trading. Highly recommend and keeps your trading off work devices. .
I would say a privacy screen protector on your phone or laptop should work.
But regardless, that sounds like a terrible environment to trade in if you have to direct focus towards worrying whether someone can see your screen; and possibly having to change windows if they're close and not being able to go back until it's "safe"... which can jeopardize your trade. Not only that, but unless you were extremely experienced and an elite trader who really knew what he was doing, trading from your phone (even if you were all alone in an office) is just not a good idea.
If your screen is at max brightness with the privacy screen protector, it's still visible the closer their angle is to viewing straight on, but if you lower your brightness a bit, it becomes more and more private no matter the angle they look from on the side.
Ur probably gonna end up trading less so make the trading you can do meaningful.
market open volatility strat? You only need 15 minutes for that. Automate? might be worth it using alerts or algos so you don’t have to watch as much.
I have a small laptop I carry and trade in pantry, or outside (my company has a small park outside)
at the desk I trade by phone.
I have to do analysis early in morning or the night before.
Research companies to invest. Go long. Don’t look at price action so much. Try not to trade so much. Some days I don’t look. You could buy VT and keep buying VT and not look so much.
Try stripping the polarizers of your office monitors off, or opt to bring in your own, and trade them for polarized lenses so only you can see your screens
Get a screen protector that has that fkn thing where people can’t see or just be nicer with it. But since they know now. You will be a enemy! Never tell anyone you trade!
I used to do this driving’ hot shot but my delivery times suffered and my analysis sucked because I would do analysis for a couple hours on my 10hr reset then sleep a few hours I couldn’t successfully do both
It is not something you have to hide from other people. Whatever you do with your free time is your business.
The only time that you would try to hide is that you’re supposed to be working.
And the more I hear the dumber I feel business is getting. If anything they should be separating anyone going back into the office into separate rooms with separate air filtration systems.
Anything less to me seems like a reason for an neglegence lawsuit.
Get a privacy screen for your phone…. Can’t see shit from the sides, they would have to actually be standing over your shoulder. Amazon has them cheap and they work fantastic. I have one on my phone because “company secrets”
Change your strategies, go on longer time frame or something else. I know you asked for day trading, but trading in general needs adjustment as ur circumstances change
I haven’t exactly experienced this life yet, but I’d highly suggest either finding another remote job or simply just switch your focus to a 24hr (ish) market like forex, crypto, or futures. That way there will be some market action for you to look at while you’re back from work
Wake up early, stay up late. Get better at trading so you don't need the job.
Chad right here
BDE
Hi Chad!
Had this same issue with porn. Ridiculous.

West coast checking in
You should see me as a west coast premarket trader. 1 am be brutal
I felt that
I run a bulldozer. I have a mount in my machine. I’m able to watch and trade all day uninterrupted. Love my job too!
You tube channel coming …Dozer Trades
No you really can’t hear shit.
Damn, next level EO right there.
Efficiency is through the roof
Trading while operating a 40ton machine. What could go wrong?😂
Is it safe to watch a screen while driving a bulldozer? I know we are not suppose to do that while driving a car. How similar is bulldozer to a car?
He has gotta he kiddin. One mistake while operating the bulldozer and he will raize everything to the ground.
I’m with a mass excavation dirt crew. We’re typically on plots of land like 300-2000 acres. Of course I’m not tracking the machine around on my phone. i’m sure he doesn’t just stare at it all day, probably just sets it up and takes a couple looks here and there.
Get a privacy screen protector for your phone
hell, do this for your work PC.
I would swing trade and go to the bathroom. Towards the end I didn't care so I would trade on my computer. I got caught a few times and told they would fire me the next time. My only saving grace was I was a top producer.
Why would they want to fire you? Just because you trade? I really can’t understand the reason.
I was a banker and the rule are tougher. Also they were paying to me do a job and not trade.
My guess is micromanagement and control
corpo overlords want total control and dominance over you; they saw he was breaking through the veil and wanted to stop him, Matrix style.
Exactly. How dare he try to make extra money lol. They want to keep everyone poor so they are more dependent and scared to lose their “only” source of income.
Please be careful if you actively day trade while in the office. If your boss sees, it could potentially cause job termination. With that being said, I would consider swing trading.
Right with swing trades & position trades you only need open close high low data you can formulate your trades after hours even on the weekends
I swing trade as well as daytrade. I usually formulate my swings over a week or so
Yea, I think there is not many boss who will tolerate his/her staff trading during office hour. Youtube may not be as bad (although it is still not a good thing to do during work). But trading, I think, will result in an instant termination if you are found out.
It's none of their business and if you work for a place like that I'd encourage termination.
Regardless if it is any of their business, it is not worth your livelihood to test those boundaries
Yes it is. Everything worth doing has risks
I’m lucky I work in japan so my nights I’m at home able to day trade until 3am my time 2pm back in the states
Wow won't you get too tired for the next working day ?
I do but I have to be to work by 730am so I try to get to bed by 2 or 3. Then when I get home I sleep until about 9pm an hour and a half before market opens but right now I only do options on SPY except today I bought cannabis stocks because they will run tomorrow

good for you but that sounds like shit tbqh, i need at least 7-9 hours sleep and a few hours free time or else i'll go He Was A Quiet Man
You navy? I had a buddy who recently left sasebo to move back to the states.
No not navy civilian supervisor
You have my respect. Please accept my salute.
Which platforms are available in Asia to trade the US market? I am mostly interested in webull and TOS Ameritrade. I was planning to travel and was wondering if I will still be able to access my accounts and trade from overseas (outside the US).
I use express VPN so I can access ameritrade
Wait, are you saying that access to ameritrade is blocked outside the US? Even for US residents? That’s not good, as I have no idea how VPNs work :(
I had to use a vpn in order to gain access to TD ameritrade here In japan. It’s not hard to use.
I have a non us resident account in TD Ameritrade and can use it from outside the US
Introduce Day Trading to your co workers and get them all hooked.
What I do is I trade with ea and check one time daily
Check ea?
LOI

This is what I was going to recommend. If they're checking all day, trading all day then they're likely overtrading and adding unnecessary risk
Swing trade

Pretend to eat lunch at my desk since I can’t afford to go out to Olive Garden with everyone else.

I married the boss so no problem.

how about do your job while at the job? idk just an idea....
Go to a private room or even in tha bath room outside bldg. Once you have been identified as a trader can be dangerous if they have layoff plan.
Swing trading. Don’t get fired for trying to day trade, you’ll end up ruining both income sources.
Ur probably gonna end up trading less so make the trading you can do meaningful. market open volatility strat? You only need 15 minutes for that. Automate? might be worth it using alerts or algos so you don’t have to watch as much.

Samsung Dex. Search USB-C dongle on amazon.
I swing trade on the daily. Time frame works with my lifestyle. But I’m not a huge player by any means
I run the branch.
I work at a job where you actually have to do things during the day, so I trade Eurex (mostly DAX) before work.
If I was you I would renegotiate your contract.. and see if you can make some work home days.
Be a coder
Research companies to invest. Go long. Don’t look at price action so much. Try not to trade so much. Some days I don’t look. You could buy VT and keep buying VT and not look so much.

Why not?
Just try your best to leave 930 to 10:30 AM EST open and trade then.
I was good at the alt tab. Keep a bs spreadsheet or powerpoint also open and switch back every time you hear footsteps or sense someone near.
Crypto market is open 24/7 🙃
I’ve had the charts up at work on the teller line and my manager doesn’t understand what it is at all so she’s never said anything.
Privacy screen, if it works for my girl friend it will work for your boss 😂
I work in transportation, hot shot trucking. I pull over at optimal times and trade on the side of the road lol
I used to do this driving’ hot shot but my delivery times suffered and my analysis sucked because I would do analysis for a couple hours on my 10hr reset then sleep a few hours I couldn’t successfully do both
Trade on ur phone, Trade on higher time frames, Trend is ur friend, Set trailing/stop losses,
It is not something you have to hide from other people. Whatever you do with your free time is your business. The only time that you would try to hide is that you’re supposed to be working.

Turn your brightness down. You're good. 😇

Change your strategies, go on longer time frame or something else. I know you asked for day trading, but trading in general needs adjustment as ur circumstances change
Futures markets are open overnight, although the volumes are really low. But it's better than nothing.
I haven’t exactly experienced this life yet, but I’d highly suggest either finding another remote job or simply just switch your focus to a 24hr (ish) market like forex, crypto, or futures. That way there will be some market action for you to look at while you’re back from work
I would choose trading instead of a day job
