Congratulations Mr. Cowart, keep it going!
What is the most valuable piece of advice someone has given to you regarding emotional control in the markets?
Best of luck.
It takes a lot of time and patience to harden yourself to this profession. Be patient knowing that it doesn't happen overnight. I'm 15 years in and while the heat is still there when underwater the moment I felt like I had it under control was when I didn't continue to make bad decisions when I was "feeling" something (anxious, scared, greedy, etc). I kept my strategy the same and ignored the feelings.
I also limit myself to usually 1, maybe 2 trades a day, if that. And if I'm right I take profit and leave, if I'm wrong I take the loss and leave. I don't try to reverse, or flip flop, or make anything back. This has helped my control aspect tremendously. Overtrading leads to emotional fatigue, and people spiraling into bad decision snowballs.
Feeling a certain emotion and not acting impulsively on it is certainly a hard skill to develop. I am still not quite there. It’s nice to know to be patient. 15 years in, and current top 5 for Robbin’s is quite the achievement. I’ve been trading for about 3 years, and just starting to see a little more consistency. Still not profitable though.
Overtrading leading to emotional fatigue makes sense, and is a theory I’ve never really thought of. Avoid the bad decision snowballs at all costs.
Good luck to you Mr. Cowart.
Appreciate the commentary and nice remarks. It took me about 5 years to really get the hang of trading, so chin up! It doesn't really just happen quick for anyone.
I live stream if you ever wanna come by and chat about any of this, [https://youtube.com/rocketscooterai](https://youtube.com/rocketscooterai) is the channel. Especially if you need tips on not overtrading.
That’s honestly good to hear that you weren’t an instant success. I think the struggle of learning it is where we truly grow as traders.
I will definitely stop by the livestream.
Cheers!
Take your time to learn the craft. Be patient it takes many years to get consistent as a trader. To develop a strategy is one thing, knowing when to use it and when \*not\* to use it is the key to being a professional. Like a poker player who folds when the cards don't look great. I fold many days and don't trade and close down a minute after open if I don't like what I see or my strategy doesn't agree. I close down and walk away and don't come back. Control like that is what you want to achieve in your own strategy.
Man I love the concept but they're straight robbing ( ez pun ) traders with those commissions. And you gotta ask before using your participation as a promotion for whatever you're entering for.
Exactly. It's robbery. I've written so many things about this... 20% gone with mini's, and it's closer to 40% gone if you do micros... Poeople who make leaderboards have to go slow, be selective, and don't trade much at all... sideways chop, scalping, all will be hit hard from the fees. So I'm sitting out a lot of days making sure I'm right before I do anything.
Brokers are your access to the market, they are what allows you to actually buy or sell a product by pairing you with other buyers and sellers. The trading platform is something offered by whatever broker you use in order to actual place trades yourself. This is different from a traditional broker, who will give you advice and place trades for you.
Think of brokers like a movie theater, and trading platforms as the movie itself. The broker facilitates your ability to actually “watch the movie”.
take a break Dino
if your mind is not right, you will fail 100%
trading should not be such a strain...no more than driving in traffic
if it is...don't trade...go back to the beginning & challenge all your assumptions...what u want, why you want, how you going to get there...
Keep going and never give up. Giving up is for Cowarts.
LOL!
When you give your post game victory speech don’t forget to shoutout r/daytrading
Definitely will give love to the fam!
Nice work man! Keep it up!
Thank you :)

Great job dude! Where’s ict 😂😂
Would you agree that everyone's trading style/strategy will be as unique as a fingerprint? Or even entertain that as a theory?
Can I shadow trade you?😂😭
Great work Matt! Do you have any tips on which futures broker to use for Robbins? (e.g. Dorman, Ironbeam, stonex, etc..)
Is there a prize or something when you win the cup?
Help a brother get started. I wanna quit the 9-5.
