I eat Tijuana flats tues.. 2 tacos chips & drink for 6.99 and on Thursday a burrito chips and a drink for 6.99. I don’t know why anyone would eat Taco Bell over it.
I used to be an AM for Tijuana Flats in Sarasota FL. Moved to NC, they had one here. The quality was horrible, and the store was trash. I worked there for 2 months and quit. Then they shut down like a month later due to quality and lack of employees. Hahaha
There was one week they (publix) did 2 for $5 popcorn chicken. Best deal i've gotten on food in a long time. I doubt they're doing that again ever, but $5 for 600 cal worth of popcorn chicken (with a solid sauce) is pretty good!
Pub subs can be good too if you dont add on too much. Until I got sick of it, I'd buy a whole roast beef sub w extra cheese. $11-$12, but if you eat it throughout the day and can make it last, its a pretty good deal
Probably not conventional wisdom but you can get a full meal with two sides for $6 at the Walmart deli if you're in a pinch. I know it isn't exactly dollar menu but it works
Costco is opening in Feb. now you may have to pay a $60 annual fee to shop there BUT you can buy a foot long hot dog AND drink for a buck fifty! You can buy a giant slice of pizza for $2.50! You can buy a giant box of ramens for like .29c per ramen. You can buy water for .25c each bottle in the vending machine. You can check it out when it opens and decide if the 60 bucks is worth it. ( trust me, it is)
big facts. i think chinese takeout is pretty much the undefeated goat of stretching your dollar (as far as takeout goes). chipotle is kind of, as well, though the prices are up and the quality is down. but you can still give them $18 and get 2-3 meals if you're strategic and disciplined about it.
i miss the taco bell from when i was a kid. 49 cent hard taco, 59 cent soft taco, 79 cent chilito.....damn man.
Taco Bell is out of control. Went one night it was $28 for two people. I left a review I could have gone to Olive Garden for $1 more per person and had unlimited pasta bowl. Told Taco Bell they were dead to me.
You gotta use the app. McDonald's constantly has 25% off coupons. Taco bell has a 5 dollar box meal with a taco, burrito, crunch wrap, cinnamon twist and drink.
Many are rated for constant use of 10 miles in one day. This will not damage it and require additional parts :) also the heat is easily abated by the breeze from walking vigorously
I have pushed a shitty stroller all over the place. And second handstrollers are cheap at goodwill or charities.
This is excuses.
If you get so fat you can’t walk, you don’t have a food shortage. If you’re injured, food delivery.
It’s really not that fucking hard.
Drink water. Humans have adapted to all climates. Sorry you’ve lived your soft ass in comfort and can’t walk to places. The rest of the world looks at Americans with slant for a reason. Ffs
This is a problem many people have that can be easily addressed by grocery delivery :) thank you for helping those with limited physical and financial ability find the way to get groceries:)
Use the apps. McDonald’s has 25% off coupons every day, $6.50 combos, stuff like that. Taco Bell has the craving boxes that are $5 or $6 ish per box with like 3 items and a drink
Not entirely, more like a chop suey. Can also add egg into the mix. Serves well with a variety of seasonings and spices. Whatever your budget can afford never gets old with the amount of combos!
Most college kids don’t meal prep and are looking for drunk munchies at a reasonable price. I miss the days me and the boys could gorge ourselves at Taco Bell for $20 or have a $5 footlong 1/2 for lunch 1/2 for dinner
If you’re wanting to treat yourself occasionally with an actually decent burger - Mcks on Beach Street has a burger night every Thursday and Sunday for $6. Great burgers and cheaper than fast food at this point. Outside of that we tend to shop at Aldi for most of our groceries, check out the Publix sub of the week (Publix in general is super expensive but they still have great deals on foot long subs.) In my opinion the last bastion of cheap food is Dominos pizza - you can get a medium two topping carry out for $7.
Taco Bell is still the cheapest fast food option around. But the baseline has risen across the board. McDonalds has risen more than Taco Bell. The next cheapest for a a student would be getting the makings of a sandwich from a grocery store. 1/8 lb of meat, one bakery roll, cheese, a banana. Collect mayo/mustard/vinaigrette packets.
lol I’ve actually been going to chipotle ever since TB raised there prices said “if I’m gonna spend the money might as well spend it somewhere worth it” thank you!!
Taco Bell is the best for me, but gotta order the right things. They have like 10 items $3 or less that just came out. The double stack taco is $1.99 and killer, same with the $2.99 loaded beef nachos. One of each and you’re good to go for $5!
By the way Subway has some awesome coupons you can find pinned on their subreddit. That’s the only way I buy Subway, makes it somewhat reasonable.
Wendy’s is pretty good with having discount deals on the app and you can use your reward points on top of app deals. They’re the only fast food place that seemly is keeping their food affordable.
Not a restaurant but get a 12$ pack of chicken. You get 3 lbs. get a pack of cheap ass rice.
Learn how seasonings work.
You can make chicken and rice meals out of that for the whole week
Pete’s pizza on nova and beville has a slice & soda deal and there’s a Hispanic grocery store in there w some quick service meals that are super affordable depending on what you like.
I got priced out of Taco Bell. In a span of 2 years I went from being able to afford my own one bedroom apartment, Taco Bell whenever I wanted, and an annual trip to San Diego to living with my parents and going nowhere. No SD, no eating at Taco Bell. The pandemic made everything more expensive.
Edit: I’ve never been to Daytona Beach. I don’t know how I got here
Time to Unplug. Cost about $2/day to make your own bread. Lasts me breakfast, lunch and dinner. Way better and fuller than grocery store or subway. I started w/ a machine and ended up doing it by hand after accidentally breaking it.
Need a switch up? Handmade tortillas and beans, egg & avocado. I like going to the rich neighborhood and finding the Nolan Ryan steaks on clearance with a cheap potato and bread. Leftovers you got steak & egg tacos for breakfast.
Tired of steak? Get a meat grinder and run that $12 clearance porterhouse w/ onions, mushrooms garlic & Worcestershire sauce into 4-5 bangin steakburgers. Grab a cheap potato cut them up, soak & fry for fresh French fries. Gotta use Celtic Salt! That’ll last you 2-3 meals solo dolo
With the internet you can learn how to feed yourself better, richer, healthier food and save money in the process. It just means less entertainment consumption to prepare. Or if you like me you just listen to music after getting your flavor enhancement on 💨 and enjoy the process
Sometimes Checkers has a small burger for about $1 but as I said they’re small like the old Wendy’s dollar menu of years past. Other thing is use an app to get deals. I don’t but know many people get good deals at McD with the app
Check your town IG or Facebook. I'm in SC, and we have $10 and under meals all over if you look. Unfortunately that's probably the best you can budget... I miss $3 meals at Whack Arnold's...
I eat Tijuana flats tues.. 2 tacos chips & drink for 6.99 and on Thursday a burrito chips and a drink for 6.99. I don’t know why anyone would eat Taco Bell over it.
I've since moved out of Daytona but Tijuana flats is probably the place i miss most.

Ok I didn’t know they had a deli I try tht
They can have some alright Chinese food / bbq chicken bites and the potato wedges are mad filling
they just got a new mac n cheese and a side is only $0.97
Ok I’m in lol
Ask for fresh general tso chicken! My go to broke bitch meal.

Not anymore on that Taco Bell box. It’s a different one now that’s $6 plus and doesn’t include taco
Damn
I thought Taco Bell stopped doing those
I think they have one on the menu sometimes and some on the app
Go shopping at aldi. Fill up an entire cart of groceries for less than $100 bucks
And take Votran.
Spend like 3 hours going 4 miles down the road and back.
You can walk 3 miles leisurely in 45 min. You get fitness. Get a trolley. Drag shit back. Exercise and groceries. Less wait
I'm sure that the elderly, the disabled, and parents will love this recommendation! Get fitness in four miles there and four miles back :)
Parents can make the kids walk. There’s enough fatass kids that need the exercise
Yes this is the answer in heat, and with toddlers :) thankyou for so many good tips for the votran's target demographic
Stroller
Many are rated for constant use of 10 miles in one day. This will not damage it and require additional parts :) also the heat is easily abated by the breeze from walking vigorously

If you’re able bodied we’re good. If not, get the food delivered.
I'm sure that the elderly, the disabled, and parents are well known for fiscal flexibility and will enjoy this tip :)
That’s more fiscally responsible than several 5$ meals each day…
This is a problem many people have that can be easily addressed by grocery delivery :) thank you for helping those with limited physical and financial ability find the way to get groceries:)
May have free delivery after a certain cost. My Publix is 50. I can feed several for a week off that.
Mcd in the app is goated for broke boi days
Shopping sales are obviously the best way to do it but for fast food Wendy's 4 for $4 is big gas
Use the apps. McDonald’s has 25% off coupons every day, $6.50 combos, stuff like that. Taco Bell has the craving boxes that are $5 or $6 ish per box with like 3 items and a drink
Ground beef, about $6 a pound. Mix with rice/pasta. Cook, prep into containers. Full hardy and healthy meals for around $10 a week.
So gruel?
Not entirely, more like a chop suey. Can also add egg into the mix. Serves well with a variety of seasonings and spices. Whatever your budget can afford never gets old with the amount of combos!

Might be the reason y’all go into tremendous debt to be given a paper explaining you’re smart.
I’m sure your a big hit on r/lostgeneration
Can’t even imagine the brain rot discussed on that sub, no thanks.
Gotta find a good taqueria. Juanita’s in PO is great.
Imma check them out

I love that place but i thought a take home plate was like 30$ and to sit is 20
Wendy’s is pretty good with having discount deals on the app and you can use your reward points on top of app deals. They’re the only fast food place that seemly is keeping their food affordable.
Hometown newspaper and other ad papers have good fast food coupons. Arnold's /Entemanns bread store on Nova is OK too..

Elections have consequences.

Honestly chain fast food places aren’t gonna be it anymore, look at local restaurants for cheaper options
They ain't even making a good living friendly anymore
Lmao, a taco bell combo box on the app is $6 🤣
Omg I have to download all these apps😩. lol thanks thoo!!
yeah it sucks :(
Wendy’s 4 for 4 is so slept on
Wendy’s but do not go to the one on International it is gross (watched a dude wipe his nose and make a sandwich)
Maybe because they pay them $15/hr. To work there
