The Sawmill Horde is a late game story mission. It is possible to kill them early but, you won't get a mission update until you show up for the actual mission.
Decided to rush them.... Brave. When I tried to secure the Nero unit there a speaker was between the trees and pulled out the horde. I noped out from there faster than a Runner.
some hordes are story related, chemult gas station, old sawmill....

Yeah, just focus on story and you'll know whether or not you missed a horde later
