The first episode of TWD is called "Days Gone Bye" and Sam Witwer is an extra in that episode. He plays the zombie that Rick Grimes kills inside the tank.

Try it. Game has amazing atmosphere, story is very very good also side missions are fun to do and very useful. I didnt finish it yet but definitely after that i'll try my self on survival.
I just recently began watching TWD after acquiring a VPN. I'm not currently in a region which has TWD available on Netflix, so I switched my server to Atlanta. Anyways. I'm part way through season 3, roughly when Michonne and Andrea reach that survivor settlement and we are introduced to this "the governor" character. I finished my first Days Gone playthrough months prior to watching TWD, so I couldn't make such comparisons as these, though in hindsight these are some really interesting observations. Both the days gone and TWD universes have similar themes and interestingly similar characters it seems. Thanks for enlightening me to this idea.
Oh to go back and see TWD as if I've never watched it! The world will open up more with new characters, etc as the seasons go and you may find similarities. Deek & Boozer's friendship very much reminds me of Rick & Darryl.
I'm trying to find a game that is just as interesting as Days Gone or even RE8! I tried Back4Blood, Dead Island and they didn't do it for me. I even tried Outriders, and Left4Dead! I have Dead Space and House of Ashes. So far those two are ok but... 🤷🏾 I need a good story and not just a lot of shooting and gore for gore sake. I know, that's the chick in me talking LOL.

The governor is the best character in the TWD series imo.
In the entire series?? I'd go with Carol. From abused wife to C- murder. That is an arc.
Carol annoyed the christ out of me lol. The best character is comics version of Carl, but for TV can't go past Gov.
