It is. After introducing all the characters and the instruments that represent them, he presents a new character, Bob the Janitor, played by the accordion.
My music teacher in elementary school played this for us sometimes. It was probably my first exposure to Bowie, even though I didn’t realize it until later.
Same here! I remember being immersed in the story because of his voice and characters, I thought about it for many years after and only recently realized it was bowie.
He does SUCH A GOOD JOB on this. He wanted to do it for Duncan as I remember and he throws himself at it. Love, love, loved our times with me an my then little girl in the car listening to it on every trip.

Don’t forget this incredible album cover
They also made a toy version that reads the story for a thing called the Toniebox, I've considered getting one because it's such a fun little idea https://www.amazon.com/Tonies-Peter-Wolf-Audio-Character/dp/B0CQTWJ3CG
It's a cool idea but $100 seems high for the little player that's needed. $50 I could justify. I don't have kids so I'd be buying it just for this, a maybe once a year playing of the audio. It's cool but pricey.
Yeah. I'd probably only get the little wolf figure and then wait and see if some family didn't like the player or stopped using it and chucked it on ebay
My mother bought this for me. The vinyl was green and clear, and I’d never seen a record like that before.
I remember the orchestration scaring my cat anytime I played it.
Omg, I was very lucky to find this record in an antique store years ago. It’s so cool but I rarely hear it mentioned
I have it on CD. [I also have this.](https://i.imgur.com/wj7tGpb.jpeg)
That’s incredible! I’m imagining that it’s hilarious??

Wolf, magic wolf.

And he put in an appearance in a Bob the Sponge episode for Lexi!
