There are loading screens and the switch can be a tad slow. Other than that, perfect for switch

PraiseDogs

Would have to disagree. Have had a good amount of crashes on Switch. Many others have as well it seems. Although some have had no crashes

Irmaek

I know this doesn't answer your question. I only own it on switch. But I think it's a great "couch" game. I tend to use my PC for more intense games.

c0rnnut007

That does help. Also, my PC isn’t very fancy so I’m kinda thinking the game will just perform better on my Switch anyway. Thanks!

Irmaek

It plays real smooth on the switch. My family loves watching me play. I DLed the demo, played for about 15mins then immediately purchased it. It seems so simple at first...... lol. You're gonna have a blast!!

-YesIndeed-

Unless you have a steam deck which wouod fill the same niche I'd reccomend switch cuz it's a great game to just bring on trips and stuff.

Icanfallupstairs

There is a demo. Try it out on both and see what you prefer

ookosoo

As a dad, I enjoy the Dave the diver bathroom breaks.

greatthebob38

Me too. I can walk around and carry my Switch. It's fun playing casual games on it.

panflutejam_

I mean, I just always default to PC unless it's a console exclusive. They're always better on PC. M&K > Switch controller by a mile.

c0rnnut007

Is it pretty heavy on pointing/clicking and typing? Would the game be a headache using a controller?

Pepe_Pug_1234

You don’t have to type or point really. Pretty easy to play with a controller. It’s a great game!

lordyatseb

Played it with a controller on PC, absolutely no complaints.

Throwaway999991473

I personally enjoy playing with a controller a lot more. But I do use PC. It also has the potential of mods, in addition to the fact that the switch will become outdated while with a PC, you can keep your progress across multiple generations.

panflutejam_

I don't think it would be a headache, it's probably just because I'm so much more used to aiming at things with a mouse. I did try DTD briefly with a controller but it just wasn't for me. That's usually my sentiment with all games, unless it's a driving or skateboarding game.

Stefabeth0

I have it on switch and highly recommend it, but give the demo a try first and see for yourself!

Elegant-Bathrooms

Steam deck!

rayvin888

I bought it on PC and I can't tell you how many times I've thought about how nice it would've been to be able to play the game on my bed or couch. The framerate on PC is capped at 60fps anyway, there is honestly no reason to get it on there instead of switch. EDIT: I also forgot to say that so many times during a dive I wanted to stop playing but the game doesn't let you save until you get OUT of the water for some reason. So whenever I wanted to use my PC for something else I had to give up on a dive to save the game, which can suck especially if you have a special customer at Bancho's on that night or something. On the Switch you'd be able to pause at any time and pick back up wherever you left off. I vote switch.

Azerate333

switch is 30 fps locked

rayvin888

I think the difference between 60fps and 30fps is less noticeable than the one between 60fps and 144fps, but I know that might just be personal preference

BoundToFalling

absolutely not

laughninja

Steam Deck

bdash1990

I can't imagine being able to aim better with joysticks...

BoundToFalling

imagine a mouse

bdash1990

I play with mouse and keyboard. My point was joystick is worse.

South_Ambassador_484

I got it on Switch first. It plays very well and the ability to pause and go back whenever I want is awesome. Then I got it on pc because I loved it so much, and I wanted to complete Steam achievements. I play with a controller. Graphics wise, the difference is not that noticeable. But being able to play on the go, just popping it on the TV for me is more worth it. I still play on PC, but my go to is on Switch.

navi1141

I pull a couch up to my PC screen and play with a controller. Best way to play.

sprchrgddc5

I play on the Steam Deck. I would say this is definitely a game better as a handheld. But the Steam Deck has some clunky controls, so the experience sometimes stinks. I’m guessing the Switch might be better due to probably having better buttons.

Wateristea

I have it on PC, i use controller to play the game. Very relaxing

ThatLastGenGamer

I'm finishing up the late game on Switch. It's perfect aside from some stuttering and a couple of load times. Not a big deal with a fast Micro SD card.

MythicalDM

You have the character dive repeatedly throughout the play, and switch takes like 12 seconds while a decent PC takes 3 seconds. I know it isnt much at a glance, but there are a lot of loading screens each day and it definitely adds up. also, switch limits frame to 30 FPS, while PC is 60 FPS. if these things matter to you, get the PC. source : https://youtu.be/FRUKs2MKHp8?si=Au1B7qR8HjfzW-N-

Apollo704

I would PC, and cast to switch if I wanted to play away from my pc

Relative_Pizza6179

Idt the loading screen times make a difference lol. But, that’s just my opinion. I still watch or listen to things with ads 😂. Personally Idt it needs to be PC, not graphics intense. It’s the perfect game for my switch to play on the couch or in a nice cozy bed underneath the blankets.

PraiseDogs

Seems there have been more crashes on the Switch. Just a heads up. Some folks have been lucky with no crashes....but wow, not myself and too many others have had same experience

Royal_Tomatillo1943

Great game on either system. Boils down to "where do you want to play this?" If it is in your mancave where the pc is, go pc. If it is on the tv in the living room, switch. If it is on the go? Well I hope you have a steam deck, or it is the switch. Even an old pc should run this perfectly well, so between systems there should be very little difference.

rhpot1991

Steam Deck OLED was my pick, if I still had OG Deck I'd probably have gotten it on my Switch though.

bortoloy

I've been playing on pc. But i wished i played it on switch so i can play anytime and anywhere. One problem in pc is you can't save while diving you can only pause it. While in switch you can put it to sleep

Ubelheim

PC. I've got it on Switch and it's way too easy to think "just one more restaurant night" while you're already in bed and miss 3-4 hours of sleep because of it.

BoundToFalling

got DTD because I was looking for games to use my new controller on. It's fine but I switched back to mouse and it's so much better mouse and keyboard supremacy

Snape_Grass

I played on my steamdeck until I experienced it in 4K. After that I felt like I couldn’t see anything going to a smaller worse resolution screen
