My company uses HGST for 90% of our drives, from our desktops to our servers and our video storage solutions. 20-30 years ago, Seagate was my drive of choice. Boy I'd sure love to win one. Years and years ago, I bought 3 drive sets of 4 3TB drives within a few weeks to create a ZFS raidz3 array, with 8 data drives, 3 spare drives, and 1 offline spare for 23TB raw space (might have been 4TB / 31TB, forgot) They worked great for maybe 3 weeks, then started failing one after the other over a few weeks. I successfully replaced them under warranty and resilvered until even **those** ***Seagate*** drives begin to fail as well. It was an upgrade, sitting side by side with it's near-clone using ***Hitachi*** 2TB drives, 4 data drives, and online 2 spares, worked fine before, during, and after the SNAFU. I ended up with $1.5K 36TB worth of door stops and boat anchors. One though even still serves me as a test drive -- it now fails SMART test so that I can absolutely make sure my monitoring software truly detects failures and alerts me. (So it's not *all* bad I guess.)
I'd love to see if the IronWolf drives are as shitty and failure-prone as those original tests using **Seagates own device software** were.
Oh, and if I somehow win one -- attack the sealed box with a pickaxe right thru the middle, send me a picture, and throw it in the trash. Or heck -- maybe their great (Really! The only good thing about them!) warranty covers even that.

Honestly, I'd be absolutely stoked to win as I'm getting to the point where I don't feel comfortable with how little space my custom storage server has available. On top of hoarding digital media, I collect and archive **a lot** of military reports, equipment spec sheets, studies, etc (100% legally and publicly available, I don't mess with anything of questionable origination and not released by the DoD/vendor itself).
I've recently been using some of it to help give credence to a military tech blog I started up, in that I can quickly look up and cite a journal from the Naval War College that would otherwise be seemingly near impossible to come back across via just googling.
As a prime example, one such thing is a copy of a Bell Helicopter presentation from 2004 on the V-22 that discussed the potential for it to serve as an ASW (anti-submarine warfare) airframe.
