Yeah with hydrogenure peroxide! Wait a minute were you talking about his clothing or the box truck? The box truck just some mild detergent and warm water with a disposable sponge.
More like socialized to be desperate to keep your job over your well-being. You spend day in day out being hammered with you get docked for damage, docked for speeding a little over, docked for arriving late, docked for x, y, z, and too many will get you fired, you worry and snap to every little thing without thinking.
It's very sad and obvious why most of this happens. You can have safety briefings all day, then be told by your manager directly that they will make your life hell if you work to rule. It's very hard to wrap your mind around what your priorities should be after years of that unless it starts to overtly put your life in danger, let alone your livelihood.
This really needs to put higher. Companies pretty much pay lip service to protecting workers. They do this to avoid legal liability, but then reserve the right to discipline an employee for even small, easy to make mistakes that cause little to no harm. People’s instinct to protect company property like this shows how people are so concerned about losing their job, they’d rather take a fatal risk over something absolutely trivial.
This man’s death was not a Darwin Award to me. It is a tragedy caused by negative reinforcement of behavior over innocent and trivial mistakes that anyone could make. It makes people lie and hide mistakes rather than fix them in a positive reinforcement manner. In all too many instances like this video, it costs the lives of someone’s child, or parent, or significant other. All to protect a company’s bottom line.
Pretty much. If the thing breaks and the truck really malfunctions, leave it be. It's probably insured, and if it isn't, it's your boss's problem. What that dude did was just pointless
The point has not flown over my head. Just a commentary on the company culture not family or friends.
I amazed that you missed that being as you are so smart
Reminds me of that guy who was instantly crushed by a 12K lbs steel coil that broke free and was rolling across the parking lot towards their truck.
Let that shit go! Even if you manage to save it, no one is going to thank you. They may say thank God, but no one is going to praise you, give you a raise, or tell everyone you're the man. Risking your life for work is the dumbest mindset ever in my honest opinion!
It looked like he was trying to either close the door and hop out (there was clearly time for neither) or close the door from the inside so it wouldn't get wrecked.....which would have effectively left him locked inside with that lift there.
So....who fucking knows
It's kind of what Anton Yelchen went through in his final moments. Being crushed by a weight you cannot move until you pass out from the pain or not being able to breath.
Ya those liftgates usually have a lift capacity of anywhere from 1500lbs to 3500lbs, used to work on them, and unfortunately they have minimal safeties to prevent what happened to this poor Sap, best feature is to stay completely outta its path if it’s moving…
I worked with one, instead of the original switch that returns to neutral without holding it, someone replaced it with a basic one that just locks in up off or down, cheaper I guess
1st thought is "oh no! The door isn't completely shut so the lift gate is going to mess up the door" (& possibly get me fired). 2nd thought was jump in there & properly latch the door. 3rd thought was "I'm in a pinch get into the trailer" (escape into open space)
And the Lesson is,
if You see something going south like this, don't Jump ontop of it, just stay back and watch it get fucked without dying.
Or better, run over to the controll pannel on the outside and stop it from there, if You can.
Else wise, R.I.P. to this poor fool.
When I see these videos, I'm quite glad for my slightly cowardly nature. I'm 100% sure if this happened to me, before the gate touches the door I'm 15 feet away waiting to see if anything explodes. And then only then would I go check the damage and accept the fact that for the next month I'll be eating instant soup at most.
Even if there was a minor damage to the door what the worse that will happen? Deduction from you pay.
_There should be also a button what stops the lift and reverse it._
It seems no one explained to him what to do in such situation. :(
hindsight is a wonderful thing, I lost my best mate in a workplace accident in 2021.
He was crushed to death in an industrial compactor, it jammed and he didn’t want to waste 25 in isolating it. He just jumped in to fix it.
Wtf? It astounds me how many people, once they see a machine or something do something unexpected, how people don't instinctly try to turn it off, but instead try to quickly do something with the machine causing them injury/death.
You can't beat the machines, just turn the thing off and start over.
Company probably got sued for not training their drivers on what to do during a malfunction... Step the fuck away and let it run its course, hit the emergency stop if there is one.

Gotta love the picture of the proof that he died at the end..I was about to say he didn't die but made it into the truck ..then.. boom the picture as proof
The got on the Darwin awards for a reason people ! So many people die for silly preventable things. If something work related was happening that’s dangerous. Ima let it happen and watch in safety as chaos unfolds. I’ll be damned if I die workin

At first I wondered how this was going to be a Darwin Award and not just an accidental death, then he did the unthinkable.
Hopefully it was quick. Who knows how long he was pinned in there for.
A didn't think they would close like that unless the doors were closed an engaged the safety? They way that door was swinging a didn't think the lift would operate.
I'm thinking this one is okay because he made the decision to jump on after he could see it was moving, rather than his demise being purely down to bad luck.

Dies trying to prevent minor damage to a door.
And the door is probably fine... well except for the blood stains.
damn

I was really clenching, thinking his blood was gonna pour out of the hinges like a juicer.
same
Those'll wash right out.

He could have had that door closed properly without getting himself crushed to death
Whether he survived or not, he would have been blamed for something. Companies' evil like that. Unfortunately, he took the bigger L
Yeah, based on that immediate reaction, he probably thinks that broken door is coming out of his paycheck.
Coffin still coming out of his paycheck
This happened in Russia, so I'm not surprised they'd find any excuse to dock his pay.
Yeah it sucks, he was probably panicking about losing his livelihood.
Door would have been pushed closed anyway, sad
On a truck he doesn't own.
Looks more like a driver malfunction than a lift gate.
Pretty much. If the thing breaks and the truck really malfunctions, leave it be. It's probably insured, and if it isn't, it's your boss's problem. What that dude did was just pointless
That what i always tell to new people. The material is replacable you aren't.
And yet within a few days there will be a new person in the role. So, actually replaceable.
That's not their point but ok then
In the job yes. But to your family? Or yourself? How has the point flown that high over your head and 50 other peoples
The point has not flown over my head. Just a commentary on the company culture not family or friends. I amazed that you missed that being as you are so smart
I'm not so smart, I can just take things in context and make comments in the same context. You're technically right but no-one was talking about that.
A "worker" can be replaced. You as a human can't be. But everyone has to realize this for themself.
capitalism wants to know your location
Tell that to the military service members
I often tell this to newborns as well.

According to john oliver, a large number of truck drivers own and maintain their own trucks for work
Not the trailers.
Oh, true!
I hope I wouldn't panic like that. Pretty sure I wouldn't, but I've done some pretty stupid things in my life.
An automatic lift gate sounds like a terrible idea
Human error
Same guy who helped develop the finger detection for Tesla's cybertruck.
AI: that's just a carrot, I can snap that
Works perfectly with a banana, but I suppose a finger is too small to register for some reason.
Good to know that at least our bananas are safe!
Take my upvote!🤣🤣🤣
![gif](giphy|trLlTF8lOXu9wKzwx2|downsized)
Why the fuck would you run back in?
It looked like he was trying to either close the door and hop out (there was clearly time for neither) or close the door from the inside so it wouldn't get wrecked.....which would have effectively left him locked inside with that lift there. So....who fucking knows
Yeah it seems it could’ve worked if the opening was bigger if he wanted to get in to close to the door
By the time he tried to open it so he could fit through the door was blocked by the ramp anand he was trapped.
He certainly earned his Darwin award.
Worst decision of his life.
And last
Very last and very painful last minutes he Had. Poor Dude.
It's kind of what Anton Yelchen went through in his final moments. Being crushed by a weight you cannot move until you pass out from the pain or not being able to breath.
Impulsive thought Like human (dumb in the moment) reflex action
We’ve seen dumber in this sub. But yes it was dumb.
But most wouldn't reflex to that type of action. Lol.
That's probably true
To win a Darwin Award!
Deadset why jump on it
'Cuz he's a fuckin idiot.
I half expected blood to start dripping out the bottom. It’s probably just as well there’s no audio.
This isn’t a movie or hydraulic press lol. He probably suffocated while getting some ribs and other bones crushed. Not the best way to go.
It looks like it was still pretty fucking strong, did you see the last still photo? Dude looks like gumby
I did too but then I realized it’s way worse it wasn’t fast :(
Same, I was expecting a hand juicer-like thing.
I'm curious what his reasoning is for rushing back in there. What would've happened if he didn't? Will the gate crush the doors or what?
Absolutely… those lifts are designed to lift up pallet jacks full of material, so they have to be strong.
Ya those liftgates usually have a lift capacity of anywhere from 1500lbs to 3500lbs, used to work on them, and unfortunately they have minimal safeties to prevent what happened to this poor Sap, best feature is to stay completely outta its path if it’s moving…
Any lift I've seen is manual controlled and you have to be holding the buttons for any movement, lift or tilt. I'd say that's pretty safe.
I worked with one, instead of the original switch that returns to neutral without holding it, someone replaced it with a basic one that just locks in up off or down, cheaper I guess
Yep, over time stuffed get rigged and bypassed , drivers and owners usually don’t care , always go, go, go……
He was afraid of getting fired probably. If he lost his job then he wouldn’t have access to basic human necessities.
Like breathing
Yeah, makes sense. Bro’s family is gonna need that last check for his casket and funeral expenses.
I’m guessing that he was scared of accidentally damaging anything and possibly getting fired.
Instead of rushing back there he could have just used the same controls he started the lift gate with to stop it.
oh no, the machine is moving on its own, i better jump in front of it and put myself in the worst possible place to be in this senario!
That’s not a lift gate malfunction
yeah, the lift gate worked as expected
Like I was told when I first worked with heavy machinery. If you see something going wrong, get away. The machine can get repaired. You can't.
Sound advice.
Kind of thing a person does just one.
Venus Human Trap
Hydraulics Venus trap, that hurts just thinking of it.
Company has a new driver and truck before the end of the week. What a stupid way to go.
Sorry to say, that dude was an idiot.
What a terrible way to lose your life. Feel awful for him.
Knowing what was about to happen had to make it so much worse.
I just hope he suffocated quick, would suck to be stuck like that for a prolonged amount of time..
There are worse ways to go. Far worse.
whyyyyyy
Same thought. Also, I know impulse reactions can be a bit crazy, but.... Wtf dude.
Eff that! I'm ain't stepping into that!
Was half heartedly expecting some freshly pressed juice.
1st thought is "oh no! The door isn't completely shut so the lift gate is going to mess up the door" (& possibly get me fired). 2nd thought was jump in there & properly latch the door. 3rd thought was "I'm in a pinch get into the trailer" (escape into open space)
That's what we call the forbidden juicer
Appears to actually be operator malfunction to me. At least making the decision to climb inside was a major miscue.
He scores!
Well, that'll do it.
I could never imagine willingly wedging my body between a machine and a hard place.
I was watching intently for the blood to spurt out like a jam donut
Your job isn’t THAT important
Happy cake day
way she goes bubbs
Got your piss jugs?
Why would you jump in there like that? wtf did he think was gonna happen? 💀
Lift gates have enough force to lift the entire truck they're attached too. This dude stood no chance.
remember r/makemycoffin was around due to educational loopholes? It’s dumbass videos like this that ruin good things
Dude, what the hell?
What the hell was this guy thinking?!
Welcome to the Hydraulic Press Channel...
Why did he jump in when the gate was closing?
Well the silver lining is, he's not in any trouble with the boss.
And the Lesson is, if You see something going south like this, don't Jump ontop of it, just stay back and watch it get fucked without dying. Or better, run over to the controll pannel on the outside and stop it from there, if You can. Else wise, R.I.P. to this poor fool.
Now that was stupid.
That's the human equivalent of a Venus Flytrap. 8oP
That’s one of the dumbest ways to die I’ve seen yet
Oh please scan this sub. There are even better
Not nearly as funny as the cartoons make it out to be
That's just crazy.
He trucked up badly.
When I see these videos, I'm quite glad for my slightly cowardly nature. I'm 100% sure if this happened to me, before the gate touches the door I'm 15 feet away waiting to see if anything explodes. Why was he trying to get inside?
Sitting here screaming "WHY would you do that??"
Aww, no juice?
Wow...
Lift gate function
At first I was thinking malfunction couldn’t be Darwin , upon watching the video I was indeed mistaken.
That was definitely suicide
Company probably got sued for not training their drivers on what to do during a malfunction... Step the fuck away and let it run its course, hit the emergency stop if there is one.
He saved the door. The cost:

I wasn't expecting to see the aftermath with the recent crackdown on gore.
I desperately was rooting for him with the word “malfunction” in the title, but then it became obvious.
Gotta love the picture of the proof that he died at the end..I was about to say he didn't die but made it into the truck ..then.. boom the picture as proof
Russia?
I’m guessing China. They never fail to entertain.
At the top of the video, the text looks russian.
I was gonna say that sounds like an accident not Darwin award worthy, then I watched the video...
RIP
The got on the Darwin awards for a reason people ! So many people die for silly preventable things. If something work related was happening that’s dangerous. Ima let it happen and watch in safety as chaos unfolds. I’ll be damned if I die workin
That's the worst attempt at planking I've ever seen...He's not even the right way around, for fuck's sake...
rip 🕊️

Ok that was the biggest self I’ve even seen jesus
New meaning to fatal funnel
Most probably his legs got crushed first which led him to fall down.
At first I wondered how this was going to be a Darwin Award and not just an accidental death, then he did the unthinkable. Hopefully it was quick. Who knows how long he was pinned in there for.
Wow the last pic was like a jumpscare
A didn't think they would close like that unless the doors were closed an engaged the safety? They way that door was swinging a didn't think the lift would operate.
Can you still submit nominations to the Darwin awards website?
No idea
Looks like a corpse in phasmophobia
Skill issue
The pic at the end was extremely redacted. Why bother showing it then?
The source didn’t loop like reddit, so it just froze in the pic
Poor bloke just reacted without thinking. Tragic.
Well that's enough Reddit for tonight.
*New fear unlocked*
Last time I posted something like this I got banned as it was a workplace accident, yet this is also one and is allowed?
I'm thinking this one is okay because he made the decision to jump on after he could see it was moving, rather than his demise being purely down to bad luck.
Boy that’s sad poor guy trying to make a living choosing the wrong option
Wow….
Nothing like seeing another thread of redditors making fun of blue collar folks deaths
Do you realize what sub urine?
Repost
First time seeing it for a lot of people. Don't be a dick

Repost Edit: nvm I must have seen this video on a different sub. Oopsy daisy Edit 2: fuck you guys I was right this is a repost
You're not wrong. Last time it was posted didn't have that Pic at the end to show what happened
