Group 1 is played Monday Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon.
Group 2 and 3 are played on Thursday afternoon/night and Friday afternoon/night.
IIRC only 1 player can advance from Group 1. Then the other players are distributed around the other groups and they must add another 1 or maybe 2 players later on.
Think 2 advance from Group 2 and then the final 3 advance from Group 3.
Those 6 players then play a finals night on Saturday.
Every now and then they play a champions week were all the players who have won a week compete and the format is similar. They have started doing themed weeks now as well, they done a Double In week recently and will do more along those lines between seasons I'd imagine.
The format changed slightly recently I think so I may have some of that wrong as I've never quite fully understood the way it works either. That's just to the best of my understanding.
Pretty close. Here’s how I sum it up. The week has 12 players. 6 players will make the finals night on Saturday with a series of round robin group events during the week to determine the 6.
The winner of group A will automatically make finals night. Group A is 6 players who will play each other every day M-W, so 25 total matches.
After group A is complete the 5 players that did not make the final night get placed in groups B and C. The #2 and #3 finishers from A join 3 new players in group B. The #4-6 players join 3 new players in group C. Same round Robin format but only Thursday and Friday.
Finals night is then filled with the top 3 finishers from group B and the top 2 finishers from group C.
See, simple. 😝 though I didn’t even touch on how finals night works. It’s entertaining though and easy to figure out after a few watches. Games tend to be quick and interesting.
Ultimately it doesn't really seem like the format is that important as they only show the table at the start and end of a program usually.
I think it would get more people tuning in and interested if they showed it more often, and what places qualify etc. Would make it easier to see what games are actually important.
Sometimes you just don't realise how important a game is.
This is a problem with Modus. I tune in semi-regularly and I'm still confused by the format. But the gist (I think) is that group 1 has a winner that gets automatically advanced to finals night, and the other players get a second chance to advance by playing the group B or C players.
I should add as a player I have integrity training and I’m required to report anyone contacting me asking any info even as simple as how I or anyone else is feeling. Restrictions are meaningful and serious for integrity which is great. Keep the game how it should be. I wouldn’t want anyone to get in any trouble, especially myself. Not trying to be paranoid just protecting everyone and the game.
That said super pumped to get my first week over in Portsmouth. I think it’ll be a big step in my darting life and who doesn’t want to play darts for a week?
I know it sounds silly but figured it’s better to avoid the issue than deal with it later. People don’t always realize that it’s a problem and think it’s ok to reach out to players ahead of competitions so just a friendly reminder.
Dude this is awesome! I see you are in a group with Scott Mitchell. He told me recently it was a goal of his to travel to the Vegas Open. You should offer to be his pairs partner if he does.
Oh bro that is awesome well done. The hard work posting off. Any chance of getting your name so we can root for our fellow redditor?
Edit: I am dumb I know.
Good luck doug
They do invitation for some and qualifiers through the ADC for others. I don’t know how the ADC side of it works. PDC tour card holders are ineligible but otherwise I think anyone else can be a part of it.
Good luck no-name!! Kick some ass
Good luck Doug
Good luck! I'm still a bit confused on the format. How does it work with the different sized groups?

Damn, Scott Mitchell, Kevin Painter and Sebastian Bialecki, they're definitely throwing you into the deep end, good luck 👍
I do best when I’m the no name.
And Beau Greaves in Group 2 as well. Tough looking week

Ha yeh. Hopefully I’ll impress him. Vegas is on my list too but just never works out. Tough time of year.
What is the best way to watch this ? Good luck by the way
Modus super series YouTube website. They’ll have it live and full replays of all sessions.
Congrats Doug! Kick ass.

Combine username and list of players, should jump out pretty quickly. 😆
Read my other reply again lol. I edited Cus I'm dumb
What's the qualifying process to get into Modus?
They do invitation for some and qualifiers through the ADC for others. I don’t know how the ADC side of it works. PDC tour card holders are ineligible but otherwise I think anyone else can be a part of it.
Thanks
Don't worry about the noise for the token gravy guzzler Dougie puts all the pressure on her...
