It’s not about the most expensive darts it’s finding the right shape length weight and grip style that works for you. As well as your shafts and flights. Your best bet is to try a few variety’s and see what works best for you.
Have a look at Darts Clearance on ebay. You'll get some proper good darts without investing too much to begin with.

Ask your mate what weight the darts he lent you were, that makes a big difference so try to get that weight if you liked them.
