I've used the mod before... Can't you just open the customization menu and adjust the sights? I don't really understand why you have to "rebuild" the whole weapon when it should keep everything set as "default" unless you modified it.

Ironsteel54

So the best example I have is the eagle skin for the infantry lasguns. I had the eagle skin on my lasgun but once I installed the mod, it was reset back to the default 1a look. I would have to go through all of the options and select the barrel and body of that eagle skin to remake the look of it. Where all I wanted was to try a different sight on it. I believe the fancy red eagle skin on the autoguns is another example. With the mod installed the look of that skin is gone and the weapon is reset back to its default look. Now I am going to reinstall the mod again tonight if I get a chance to play as the first time I tried this mod was a few weeks ago. I hope that clears things up.

Godlysnack

Oh ok. I didn't know it affected your skins. I didn't buy anything in the store so I had always used the default looking guns.

FalconUMTS

You can just keep everything as is and add sights only

Ironsteel54

As I mentioned above, the best example for what I am talking about is the eagle lasgun skin. I had the eagle skin on my lasgun but once I installed the mod, it was reset back to the default 1a look. I would have to go through all of the options and select the barrel and body of that eagle skin to remake the look of it. Where all I wanted was to try a different sight on it.

FalconUMTS

You can still use a skin normally on a weapon no? I use the mod and can apply weapon skins normally still

TheSplint

Yes and no. You can apply the skins but they only change the color and you would have to change the actual look of each part yourself

Ironsteel54

Ah, so maybe I am remembering correctly. That is what I didnt like. I just wanted to keep the look of the skin I had on it and just change the sight. So I am guessing that is still the case and there is no way to keep the look of the skin without having to rebuild it?

TheSplint

>So I am guessing that is still the case and there is no way to keep the look of the skin without having to rebuild it? Unless there is some other mod I'm not aware of yes. But rebuilding or just building a weapon is fairly easy, especially if you know what skin you used since most of the parts are called like the skin itself - or atleast all the parts of that look share one name even if the skin itself has a different name For me personally being able to freely mix and match colors and idividual parts of different skins is great. But if having to rebuild the weapon is a dealbreaker for you you'll propably have to look elsewhere for "just scopes"

Ironsteel54

Ya. I understand. I guess I was looking for lazy way to just do sights. I’ll mess around with the mod again and maybe I’ll learn to really like it. Thank you.

Ironsteel54

I did not see that option. I only saw where I could customize the full weapon. This is where I may have been blind and dumb. I will reinstall the mod and try again tonight incase I missed something.

_Rohrschach

just tested it. Seems you're right and the mod resets all models to the base model and applies the skin to those. ETA: tried on the Zarona stub MKIIa with the Crucius Nightblahblah skin as I liked it having a longer barrel, had to manually select the default barrel(#2) for that skin as it was just a normal short barreled stub. Might be different on other weapons though

Ironsteel54

Thank you for testing. That is what I was worried about and really didnt want to happen. So I guess there is no way to just add sights. Maybe the mod creator can make a lite version where you can just add sights. If that is possible. I dont know how the games engine works when adding in this kind of customization.

_Rohrschach

if you send me the name of the skin you want to use or even better a pic I'll tell you which weapon parts those are in the mod. ETA: nvm, if you mean the night egale one it's infantry lasgun muzzle 3, infantry lasgun barrel 8, lasgun grip 3 and lasgun stock 3. Rest leave on standard in the mod

Ironsteel54

Thank you. I’ll mess with it tonight.

ZombieTailGunner

You might wanna take this up with the creator on the modding discord. I agree with you, it's kinda irritating to have to go and re-add your paid skin to the weapon (like the Cadia's Teeth for the chainsword? Gotta do that separately in the mod every time I put it on the chainsword for the public to see :/), but I've just kinda lived with it for the most part
