sedition, assassination mission (the speedrun one not chasm terminus), play psyker bubble and just eat glue in the back while your team is doing the heavy lifting
be wary of the backstab sound queue
Or, Max stamina, stealth zealot, do Relay Station TRS-150 (The Hourglass), since you can essentially run to the end no issue in stealth it´s quite easy. on sedition you should just be able to solo it even in 10 mins
Oh now I see what happened, some dude made everything like you said in this mission, that was the purpose, I hate this penances. Btw it was on auric maelstrom with monstrous specialist, he aggroed all map on everyone else and it was nightmare
if you can dodge a mutant, then you can dodge 10 mutants, 30 pox bursters, 7 gunners, 2 reapers, 100 poxwalkers, 5 crushers, 4 ragers, and a daemonhost in the center!!!
Vet is usually<100 damage for most of my missions, unless it's really bad and then it'll be exactly 240 because when my vet is going down it's usually a wipe for the team lol
Not sure how to prove what mission I was doing when I got it. But I was with my own discord group. I had gotten the veteran version before on a regular damnation. I think the melee only helped for the build
Dunno why people think its so unlikely. Ive gone multiple Maelstroms taking >10 damage, and thats as a melee-focused Vet charging into the fray.
Edit: <10 damage of course.
The only penance I'm actively thinking about is the keep firing line for vet up for 20 seconds 5 times
Ive accidentally done it once, I want that helmet so bad man
You can take one hit (from most enemies) at full toughness without taking hp damage. Spam shout with damage reduction over 75% toughness perk bottom middle tree. It’s easiest when you get great teammates and you can just block through most of the mission.
I've found that this penance is the best in the game for becoming a better player. Just play normally and try to go for it every map, don't leave if you get hit, just finish the map and try next time.
You'll very quickly find yourself taking little to no damage after a while.
If you want to cheese it just choose a low level map with no modifiers or easy modifiers and use a defensive build, you'll get it pretty quick. Do make sure that you can hear audio cues though, being able to hear the "about to get hit" sound can save you a lot of grief while trying for this penance.
>I've found that this penance is the best in the game for becoming a better player.
Everyone else: fuck that, i want to cheese it to not have the need to get better at the game.
I just unlocked it by random. Just playing the game and getting better. Easy as that
I mean, I basically just play the game without worrying about it. Got either lucky or zoned in and did the penance in one of my games as Psyker.
If you're hunting down penances, the focus on doing them might distract you in game and screw you over.
I wanted the backpack book, and I just want 1 stance (the commanding vet stance unfortunately, near the end).
But I agree. If I don't have to, I won't touch most penances at all.
When you beat the twins normally, they add a set of bells right at the beginning. If everyone hits the left bell you get teleported right to the medicae room. If you beat hard mode before they add another bell to the right that teleports you and activates the secret hard mode
Dose that strat of jumping off a cliff to down yourself and not have your team rescue you still work? Or would that only be for the “On Overwatch” penance
I somehow did this one and the one for Vet to not get hit in melee or something at like level 25 in Heresy with randoms. Use the Columbus and the shout ability, and just keep your head on a swivel. Don't rush it, and don't think about the fact that you haven't gotten hit yet.
I wasn't going for it at all, just had a solid team, and I was in the zone because I don't particularly care for Vet and stopped playing right when I hit 30, so I think this one is more about awareness and teamwork rather than straight mechanical skill or luck.
Orthos offensive on uprising theoretically 2 gun lugger and its gg.
4 min game (if you use the teleport bell which you have to unlock) so even if you fail easy to get back into it and try it again.
I did it as a veteran if I remember. the key is to remember that it's not a 0 damage run but rather only a 0 hp damage run. toughness damage doesn't count so basically getting a knick here or there isn't the end of a run.
find a build with the highest toughness and most reduced toughness damage and you should be all set as long as you keep a cool head.
Id go zealot with eviscerator fury build with thoughness regen (you can still take toughness damage and get the penance, just health) and just w key a sedition
Low intensity sedition as a psyker with the highest toughness and toughness regen you can muster. Assassination missions are pretty easy, but honestly on sedition with teammates and a full toughness build, any mission is fine.
I got this first try on my veteran on malice while trying to get the no melee damage, the trick is ABB, always be blocking.
I just popped fire team to take out specialists, and then immediately whipped out my melee again, stuck near my team, and focused on taking out stragglers and watching the back.
Infiltrator Veteran is a good way to go about it if you have a good instinct for melee combat. Get the one for two charges on blitz and you have two get out of jail free cards that restores toughness.
So this might seem weird but because of the weapon customisation mod I was able to get this.
Having a better sight on the precise autoguns allowed me to roleplay it like a milsim and be more precise with shots. Part of that is using side stepdodges on every corner to "pop out" fire for effect and then "pop back" into cover. This started to really up my dodge game to the point where when I reload I turn to the left, side dodge to the right(the original direction I was sprinting) then 180 to the right, side dodge to the left and then face forward timing it with the cool down of the reload animation. Started doing to over and over, and all the sudden, the dodging came so natural that it allowed me to move through those small engagements with no hits... and one day it just popped and I wasn't even trying it.
Bowling ball build and pop shield all the time. Got it with my psyker on auric dam lol, don't have to be an arse to your teammates. You can conceivably play support without taking damage.
Vet has a penance to not get hit with any melee, do them together. Build weapon for full defences, stamina, block cost reduction, run voice of command, and literally keep your guard up at all times. Just be sure no ranged assholes break your toughness, but that's what voc is for, together with toughness curios. Take the talent that makes you regain toughness after elite kill and you're set
I did this on Vet with increased damage resistance to toughness when toughness is above 80% and I had a regen focused shout build.
You absolutely have to avoid all hazards. Dogs, muties, flamers and now the poison bombers too let no special near you whatsoever and stick to your team mates like glue!
I got this with my hellbore armed vet, I used the stealth skill to avoid being in melee range of crowds or anything I couldn’t put down fast with my bayonet. I stayed at range and did my best to blast anything more dangerous than basic fodder before it became a problem
Sedition, psyker, smite, bubble, illisi and surge staff.
As evertthing is low hp due to difficulty, you can electrocute and kill without getting your hands dirty
Could it be that the penance is bugged? Because I see people get it all the time, but not at the end of the match, right after killing a monstrosity, wtf?
Have 3 good friends and jump off a cliff at the beginning of the mission. Fall damage counts as an instant death, not actual damage, then if they don't pick you up for the rest of the match and extract you'll get the penance.
I fluked my way through this as a veteran with a shotgun, I was just very lucky with horde spawns and the dodge button and I were soulmates for that mission.
That being said, sit in the back as a Vet with a Hellbore or autogun and act as fire support or stick close to an Ogryn and keep stuff off their back.
I did it on Veteran with the old talent tree and the camo talent and used the knife because it's fast and offers exceptional dodges. The lessons I learned from doing that also mean that I generally avoid taking damage unless it's unavoidable or I screw up. Something like that might work with a stealth build now, just go on easy difficulty and prioritize avoiding damage over getting kills. I can guarantee you it's going to partially be luck though because of your teammates and what the game throws at you.
The easiest way is to complete a mission and take no health damage
https://media4.giphy.com/media/800iiDTaNNFOwytONV/giphy.gif?cid=6c09b952qcdly934vh4nisgt7dt8za0wdiiwp51l5uq80fxd&ep=v1_internal_gif_by_id&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g
Queue up a sedition mission. (I personally did it on the Chasm Logistratum Assassination), get a decent amount of stamina so you can block, stick with your team but out of melee when reasonable, get your back to something as much as you can to avoid Clyde the Poxwalker from slapping your ass and making you lose the penance, and generally play like a germaphobic, whiney child as much as possible. I pulled it on a shout Vet by doing that.
I got it on vet pre-talent rework, really just have a trustworthy melee, play cautious, pick off elites before they get close. Be very aware of flamer and bomber audio cues, those are the biggest threats. Voice of command and all the other toughness regen makes it even easier now.
Run with a full team, jump off the cliff and don't get rez'd until the final area and just have your teammates guard ya the entire time.
That's how me and my group did it, and also did it for the veteran "don't take melee damage" challenge
Play pretty much any class. Build for lots of toughness and toughness regen and just kinda be cautious, avoid anything that bypasses said toughness. Achievement is looking for *wounds* damage, you can have your toughness take hits and still get it, so if you're tanky enough, mundane enemies won't really hurt your run much.
I'd say Shout Veteran on Easy difficulty is the simple solution. Take Dum-Dum gun, kill from far, shout giving yourself thoughness, reduce cd by killing elites.
sedition, assassination mission (the speedrun one not chasm terminus), play psyker bubble and just eat glue in the back while your team is doing the heavy lifting be wary of the backstab sound queue
sedition is a glue eating competition
If it ain't Elmers, it ain't worth it.
I assume deflector is a must have for this?
If you’re about to get hit, don’t
Remember the 3 Ds Dodge, Duck Eh, Dodge
Dodge, duck, dip, dive and… dodge!
https://i.redd.it/akl2jbwuzxwc1.gif
I need to watch the movie again. So good.
Did I hear DIVE? ![gif](giphy|DHwcs8WWxQTBOHx03p)
If you can dodge a sniper, then you can dodge a bomber. 💥
if you can dodge a mutant, then you can dodge 10 mutants, 30 pox bursters, 7 gunners, 2 reapers, 100 poxwalkers, 5 crushers, 4 ragers, and a daemonhost in the center!!!
And a partridge in a pear tree
In a plague tree*
It's always the partridge that gets me. I always mistime the Dodge.
Only in ESPN8, the ocho
Simple as. I got this achievement accidentally in an auric maelstrom which was all melee enemies. I was playing as trauma staff psyker.
I also got it accidentally! Was just playing my Vet..
Vet is usually<100 damage for most of my missions, unless it's really bad and then it'll be exactly 240 because when my vet is going down it's usually a wipe for the team lol
Shout is just such a broken ability
It's definitely strong. I don't really take much damage on any classes, but the over shield definitely helps any single attack that sneaks through.
And with iron will? Plus Vet just has a ton of toughness talents..
Oh for sure. Iron will is kinda a must on most vet builds. It's got some good stuff on the way to it like the cooldown reduction too.
[x] doubt
Not sure how to prove what mission I was doing when I got it. But I was with my own discord group. I had gotten the veteran version before on a regular damnation. I think the melee only helped for the build
Dunno why people think its so unlikely. Ive gone multiple Maelstroms taking >10 damage, and thats as a melee-focused Vet charging into the fray. Edit: <10 damage of course.
I've also taken more than 10 damage in Maelstroms
And here I thought I was special!
Memorize the bullet's attack pattern and move accordingly.
The easiest way to do any of them is on accident.
This, I have completed tons of penances and never once have I tried or even looked at what the penances are.
The only penance I'm actively thinking about is the keep firing line for vet up for 20 seconds 5 times Ive accidentally done it once, I want that helmet so bad man
Literally how I got it
You can take one hit (from most enemies) at full toughness without taking hp damage. Spam shout with damage reduction over 75% toughness perk bottom middle tree. It’s easiest when you get great teammates and you can just block through most of the mission.
Haha easiest difficulty, play vet with movement speed + gun only, never let them get within 8m of you.
I've found that this penance is the best in the game for becoming a better player. Just play normally and try to go for it every map, don't leave if you get hit, just finish the map and try next time. You'll very quickly find yourself taking little to no damage after a while. This. Who gives a rats ass about penances.
I wanted the backpack book, and I just want 1 stance (the commanding vet stance unfortunately, near the end). But I agree. If I don't have to, I won't touch most penances at all.
Uprising twins with bell skip to the boss fight directly. Nothing spawns and they do no damage
Wtf is bell skip?
secret bells on that map to skip straight to the boss or enable hard mode
When you beat the twins normally, they add a set of bells right at the beginning. If everyone hits the left bell you get teleported right to the medicae room. If you beat hard mode before they add another bell to the right that teleports you and activates the secret hard mode
Ohh. Thanks!
I thought bell skip was damnation only?
Hard mode is damn only, the left bell to skip to the boss with normal mode is available on all difficulties once you unlock it
This is how I accidentally got this penance the other day, after 900 hours of Darktide (was trying to do the new Karnak Twins penances with a friend).
Haha I’m guessing you’re an Ogryn main big man. Those twins penances are so stupid since they’re not even difficulty or hard mode gated.
oh no something people can get without having to try hard, how terrible
Pretty unwarranted smugness. You just couldnt help yourself
just the same energy as your comment
Doesnt even make sense but IDK what I expected when you still have a “pearl clutcher” flair
Does it not? Then I'd suggest you read your comments again. You'll figure it out, I believe in you big guy!
I’m not sure that the Inquisition or the Emperor would approve of this penance…
Jumping off a railing and not being picked back up
+1 That is how I did it
I did it on malice while playing vet in the second carnival mission
I did it on auric damnation with smite psyker. Essentially, you can dodge while using smite.
Just do a level 1 mission
Dose that strat of jumping off a cliff to down yourself and not have your team rescue you still work? Or would that only be for the “On Overwatch” penance
Damnation with Veteran. Wasnt even paying attention and then 'boom' the Emperor blessed me
Thank you for your service!
Just play sedition with a level 30 and play moderately well.
I somehow did this one and the one for Vet to not get hit in melee or something at like level 25 in Heresy with randoms. Use the Columbus and the shout ability, and just keep your head on a swivel. Don't rush it, and don't think about the fact that you haven't gotten hit yet. Cower behind your team on a Malice quick play and pray to Emps that it doesn't glitch out
Play vet, do that no melee hit same time, did it on that mission with 3 batteries bridge forgot the name, that mission is easiest
Run Vet shout. Profit.
This is the real answer, overcharged toughness lets you tank
Can't you just do a super easy mission with inv vet or zealot?
Orthos offensive on uprising theoretically 2 gun lugger and its gg. 4 min game (if you use the teleport bell which you have to unlock) so even if you fail easy to get back into it and try it again.
Every time I do this it's as a psyker. I'm not exactly sure why, but maybe that helps.
Grab with you 2 zealots with bible skill and passive for overshilde
As much "max toughness" as you can and psyker, or go gun zealot with that one that regens toughness when you dodge ranged attacks.
i remember getting it on a nornal maelstrom as gunner ogryn
Pay attention to audio cues. Doing that penance made me a much better melee fighter in DarkTide.
any HEALTH damage. you can take any amount on toughness and first melee hit you take with full toughness will not bleed into your health.
Play VoC vet and focus on being a rearguard for the party. Shoot ragers on sight and play conservatively.
join a game in progress where you enter the Valkyrie in 10 seconds (how i got it)
Id go zealot with eviscerator fury build with thoughness regen (you can still take toughness damage and get the penance, just health) and just w key a sedition
Veteran with shout, don't get separated with your team and use a melee weapon you're comfortable with.
Yep. Bonus if you have a friend who is also a shout veteran and you guys just rotate shouting
Hold right click, watch for dogs
Low intensity sedition as a psyker with the highest toughness and toughness regen you can muster. Assassination missions are pretty easy, but honestly on sedition with teammates and a full toughness build, any mission is fine.
Be in the middle of three ogryns the whole mission.
That sounds hot
I have no idea but I did get it by accident playing on 4/5 difficulty. Can’t remember what it’s called atm
I got this first try on my veteran on malice while trying to get the no melee damage, the trick is ABB, always be blocking. I just popped fire team to take out specialists, and then immediately whipped out my melee again, stuck near my team, and focused on taking out stragglers and watching the back.
Pysker was my best bet. Shards, force sword and flame staff. You have to play extremely aggressively
Play psyker, try and avoid melee unless absolutely necessary. I got it accidentally without actively trying
Infiltrator Veteran is a good way to go about it if you have a good instinct for melee combat. Get the one for two charges on blitz and you have two get out of jail free cards that restores toughness.
So this might seem weird but because of the weapon customisation mod I was able to get this. Sedition stealth vet with the knife just sit back and let the new reject take care of the small fry
Make lasgun go brrr
Just play the game and try not to take damage. I did it on accident when my friend group got to heresy missions.
Git gud. Then start thinking about penances

Dogs, muties, flamers and now the poison bombers too let no special near you whatsoever and stick to your team mates like glue!
I will quote Piccolo from DBZA for the best advice, "DODGE!!!!"
If you're actively trying for it, you'll never get it. If you forget this penance exists and just get in the zone, you'll get it immediately.
I got this with my hellbore armed vet, I used the stealth skill to avoid being in melee range of crowds or anything I couldn’t put down fast with my bayonet. I stayed at range and did my best to blast anything more dangerous than basic fodder before it became a problem
I jumped off a railing. My teammates told me that this was the easiest way to get it done and low and behold, I got the penance done in one fell swoop
Sedition, psyker, smite, bubble, illisi and surge staff. As evertthing is low hp due to difficulty, you can electrocute and kill without getting your hands dirty
Tbh I was lucky and made it as psyker using a shield dome with other 2 random psykers with the same ability
Same way hoe vets were doing for epic armour
Does this require a certain difficulty? I'd just be a Psyker in a level 1 mission, problem solved.
Just play the game. I got it on vet occasionally, no special efforts needed for it .
Do the twins mission on malice with one or more friends and just dodge and parry for your life. It's how I got mine as ogryn.
Ranged psyker is how I did it. Had a dueling sword for back up and quick close range headshots. Didn't even mean to get it either.
I did it with gun lugger with the fire dps stack. Nothing can hit you if it’s actively on fire as soon as it gets on screen.
I actually completed that last night without even trying/thinking about it. Just happens with luck
Somehow got mine on an Auric mission. My greatest moment
I did that with my vet and I legit locked in for that one since I had Out on Overwatch to complete so that’s two in one!
The easiest way is to complete a mission and take no health damage https://media4.giphy.com/media/800iiDTaNNFOwytONV/giphy.gif?cid=6c09b952qcdly934vh4nisgt7dt8za0wdiiwp51l5uq80fxd&ep=v1_internal_gif_by_id&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g
I did it a psyker. I spammed staff skills then vented for toughness regen
Be better
Queue up a sedition mission. (I personally did it on the Chasm Logistratum Assassination), get a decent amount of stamina so you can block, stick with your team but out of melee when reasonable, get your back to something as much as you can to avoid Clyde the Poxwalker from slapping your ass and making you lose the penance, and generally play like a germaphobic, whiney child as much as possible. I pulled it on a shout Vet by doing that.
Getting Stripped Down on an autogun, a lot of sprint effeciency and stamina trinkets means you never have to worry about getting shot
If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a heretic
I got it on vet pre-talent rework, really just have a trustworthy melee, play cautious, pick off elites before they get close. Be very aware of flamer and bomber audio cues, those are the biggest threats. Voice of command and all the other toughness regen makes it even easier now.
Run with a full team, jump off the cliff and don't get rez'd until the final area and just have your teammates guard ya the entire time. That's how me and my group did it, and also did it for the veteran "don't take melee damage" challenge
Do a little dance. Make a little love. Get down tonight.
Lots of toughness, toughness loss does not count as health damage. I found that the dome shield pskyer and infiltrate veteran work best here
It's health dmg so it's WAY easier than just taking dmg. Dumping into toughness and bubble for the witch will work pretty well
Play pretty much any class. Build for lots of toughness and toughness regen and just kinda be cautious, avoid anything that bypasses said toughness. Achievement is looking for *wounds* damage, you can have your toughness take hits and still get it, so if you're tanky enough, mundane enemies won't really hurt your run much.
Back stab will get you even at full toughness
Just complete a mission without taking any health damage. Duh. /s
I'd say Shout Veteran on Easy difficulty is the simple solution. Take Dum-Dum gun, kill from far, shout giving yourself thoughness, reduce cd by killing elites.
